Accessibility Resource Center (ARC)
ARC supports students with disabilities by providing accommodations, assistive technology, an adaptive computer lab, and workshops. It connects students to campus and CUNY-wide opportunities to build skills and succeed in college and beyond.
Admissions and Recruitment
Supports students through the enrollment process with personalized services, workshops, and resources, connecting the South Bronx community to Hostos’s academic programs, financial aid, and campus opportunities.
Athletics & Recreation
Promotes student wellness, teamwork, and leadership through individual and team sports, fitness programs, and access to top facilities like the Aquatic Center, Gym, and Dance Studio.
Children’s Center
The Hostos Community College Children’s Center provides safe, nurturing daycare for children 6 weeks–4 years, supporting student-parents with individualized learning, cultural enrichment, and family workshops
College Discovery
The College Discovery (CD) Program supports students with high potential and financial need through guidance, mentorship, and resources from admissions to graduation, helping them succeed academically and personally.
The Counseling Center provides confidential support for academic, career, personal, and family concerns, with bilingual counselors, one-on-one sessions, and small group workshops.
CUNY EDGE supports students on public assistance with academic advising, career planning, tutoring, and work experience, plus access to tuition assistance and other CUNY programs.
Family Empowerment
(FEP) / Families United in Education Program (FUiE)
The mission of the Family Empowerment Program (FEP)/ Families United in Education Program (FUiE) is to provide social and academic support for student-parents and families, including case management, workshops, advocacy, and access to campus and community resources.
The Financial Aid Office helps students access federal and state aid, offering guidance on applications, financial literacy, and program eligibility to remove financial barriers to education. [Federal School Code: 008611 New York State Code (TAP): 1401]
The Health & Wellness Center promotes overall wellness through programs supporting physical, emotional, and social health, manages immunization compliance, and responds to on-campus medical emergencies.
The Scholarships Office helps students find and apply for scholarships through guidance, workshops, and resources, preparing them to secure financial opportunities throughout their studies.
One Stop offers free, personalized support to help students succeed academically and stay on track. Services include assistance with financial aid, SNAP and cash benefits, housing, legal advice, debt and credit counseling, and access to other campus and community resources. Many services are also available to eligible family members.
The Office of Student Activities provides out-of-classroom experiences, supports over 50 student organizations, offers leadership training, event programming, and collaborates with SGA on club registration and elections.
The Student Leadership Academy empowers students through leadership programs, workshops, and community engagement. Students can join Hostos Student Ambassadors, Orientation Services, Emerging Leaders, or the Volunteer Corps to develop skills and connect with campus and CUNY-wide opportunities.
The Office of Student Appeals helps students on academic probation, with tuition balances, or facing other challenges submit appeals, including SAP for financial aid, re-admission, and administrative appeals due to extenuating circumstances.
The Office of Student Life (OSL) provides programs and resources for academic, personal, and professional growth, including leadership activities, internships, wellness, and career support, while guiding students on policies, conduct, and appeals processes.
The Testing Center provides secure testing for students and the community, including Accuplacer ESL and Ability to Benefit exams, with resources and sample questions available online to support academic and career advancement.
The Transfer Services Office helps students plan transfers to four-year colleges with guidance on college selection, scholarships, course planning, and credit transfer, while offering events like Transfer Fairs and campus visits.
The Office of Veteran Affairs (HOVA) supports veterans, active duty, reservists, and dependents with academic planning, benefits guidance, and resources to ensure a smooth transition to college and civilian life.
The Women’s Center (WC) promotes equity, inclusivity, and empowerment by providing support, counseling, and wellness resources for all students while fostering a welcoming space for every gender identity.
