ard to believe it is November already, we’ve had an incredibly busy month! Some of us attended the 1st Annual National Partnership for Hospice Innovation (NPHI) Summit where we joined over 30 of our fellow nonprofit hospice providers to learn from each other and share best practices. Denise Gloede and I participated in two TedTalk style sessions; Denise talked about our KKids program and I provided insight into the innovation center we know as the Thrive Innovation Center. We had visits this month from the leadership of C-TAC, the Center to Transform Advanced Care and the new CEO of NHPCO Edo Banach. Conversations
with each of these groups confirms our confidence that our style of service delivery and our community involvement are instrumental in helping our industry move upstream to take care of people longer through advanced illness care, or supportive care for the seriously ill. Our advanced illness care pilot is gaining national attention and is included in conversations to help shape this type of care into a new alternative payment model for Medicare reimbursement. I saw many of you at our recent Huddles, at our Louisville picnic a couple weeks ago and I will celebrate with more of you as we make our rounds to recognize the many years of service you continue to provide to Hosparus Health patients and families. All of our teams are heavily engaged in patient care as we continue to have an average daily census of over 1,100 patients. Each and every one of you is part of our success, and I appreciate your dedication.
