READ MORE An artist’s performance for the camera shot from the 3rd floor of an iconic yet neglected Bauhaus building in her home town of Gdansk. Inspired by the architectural features of the Threshold artspace and Perth Concert Hall. Finessed with the artist’s signature satirical twist.

2. Untitled. (Travel in a Box) (2008) 22-channel video art installation Lala Rascic (Bosnia & Herzegovina/Croatia and USA) See the artist re-enacting a story of a black slave boy who shipped himself to freedom in a box from Virginia to Philadelphia in 1849.

3. Orange Ribbon (2013) 22-channel video art installation Jasmin Hannah Sutherland (Australia/Scotland)

A series of performances by the artist and her unlikely companion - a bright orange industrial tape as a symbol of house removals and new beginnings. Choreographed and photographed in a variety of contexts and world cities including Perth.

4. Invisible Master (2015) 22-channel video art installation Denis Mallon (Ireland/Scotland)

Shot on location at Perth Theatre this is a tribute to Alexander Reid, Perth-born costume designer (1929–2006) who adorned theatres at home and away. Featuring photography by Douglas McBride (Scotland).

5. The Guru (2005) 22-channel video art installation Richard Ashrowan (Scotland) + David Lumsden (Scotland)

A creative documentary about Trilok Gurtu, the percussionist guru, composer and live performer from India on his first visit to the artspace and Perth Concert Hall.

6. The Perfomance | The Show | The Conductor (2006) 22-channel video art installation Lei Cox (UK/Norway)

A trilogy of slapstick self-portraits while performing for the camera re-enacting an endless Mexican wave; an audience in awe of an imaginary spectacle and a conductor receiving a roaring applause.

7. Beginning Ending (2006) 22-channel video art installation Michael Windle (Scotland)

A cinematic journey through time partly inspired by Anne Frank’s Diary of a Young Girl and the tradition of performance art for camera. Featuring new music composed by Brian Cope (Scotland).

8. Figure Skating (2005) single-channel video art installation | 4 min loop Julita Wojcik (Poland)

YouTube

Scripted, directed and performed for the camera by the artist on a public skating rink in Sopot, this is the first artwork by Wojcik which appeared on YouTube as part of her first solo show in the UK at Threshold artspace. Featuring camera and montage by Jacek Niegoda (Poland).

9. Feltboots (2000) single channel video art installation | 5 min loop Mare Tralla (Estonia/UK)

NEW acquisition

The performance artist re-enacts a Cold War anecdote allegedly broadcast by Radio Erevan. In this film, shot on location in the streets of Columbus, Ohio, Mare Tralla silently sneaks past the Americans in her soft Soviet feltboots.

10. First Person (2006) interactive video art installation Beverley Hood (Scotland)

A self-portrait as Lara Croft and Buffy minus the super powers of the wonder women of the video game world. The fictional rooms populated by Lara and Buffyare replaced by photorealism inspired by the architectural 3D model of the Threshold artspace and the Perth Concert Hall.
