By José Manuel Meza There are many complaints and discomforts in the hearing, but there is one of which, in particular, little is known, although it is one of the most frequent, mainly at elderly age.

Also named tinnitus, tinnitus is a hearing problem in the form of buzzing or ringing, which according to Dr. José Carlos Gutiérrez Domínguez do not have a clear etiology.

“They are rather a symptom, not a disease in itself, and in simpler terms means noises in the ear, whose origin is usually unknown to patients.

“In these cases the intensity of such noises must be assessed and we must look carefully at the type of manifestations, since there are those who feel it as a vapor, as clicks, as crickets and in many other ways. They come to my office and they tell me, ‘Doctor, take this noise away from me, I can not tolerate it anymore,’” he said.

In fact, tinnitus can be in one or both ears and in different intensities, according to the interviewee.

With almost 50 years as a general practitioner by the Universiad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico (UNAM) and with almost 40 as specialist in otolaryngology by the Centro Medico Nacional 20 de Noviembre and Adolfo López Mateos hospital, Gutiérrez Domínguez added that generally the most common causes of tinnitus are linked to exposure to noise and age.

“The more years we have, the more likely we are to present these symptoms. And if we work in very loud noise, strident environments, with intensities of more than 100 decibels, a permanent noise may remain,” he warned.

CAUTION!

The interviewee said that those who may be more prone to suffer tinnitus are the workers who work with noisy machinery, the elderly and even those who use the volume of hearing aids very high.

“Young people are exposing themselves to problems not only with noise, but their adduction will tend to diminish in an important way and that has no remedy, because what is affected is the nervous part of the ear,” said Gutiérrez Dominguez.

However, tinnitus, according to the otorhinolaryngologist, can also arise from diseases of the ear, infection, perforation of the eardrum and even a cerumen plug (earwax) that is compacted.

“The patient may refer to it as having an annoying sound. We remove the obstacle and the noise disappears, but there are other manifestations such as when there is a damaged

membrane or infection.

“Other times tinnitus or tinnitus appear due to exposure to high musical sounds, the detonation of firearms, and that can condition them, but there are also subjective noises, which means that only the patient listens to them,” he explained.

VERY COMMON AND SOMETIMES UNSTOPPABLE

According to Gutiérrez Domínguez in the United States, where there is a complete statistical culture, it is known that there are 40 million people with tinnitus, of which 10 million can suffer emotional disturbances.

“Imagine having a noise all the time, that the person falls asleep, gets up and always carries it. There are those who can cause a disability or an accident because they do not perceive this sense adequately.

“In addition, there are cranial traumas, alte-

rations of the vascular type that it brings with it, that have a normality of a blood vessel. Or, hypertension, high cholesterol or anemia, which already in these cases the tinnitus can be external factors,” he added.

Some medications can also be the cause of noise and even dizziness.

“We have to speak truthfully because the vast majority is disappointed if it is the case that has no remedy.

“Also those who suffer from noise will be depressed, their character will change. The ideal is to go with a specialist, as there are reasons that can be resolved or improved,” he said.

He said that in every 10 patients at least 20 percent have this problem and that tinnitus is manifested in more than 80 percent of people over 70 years.

He mentioned that there are treatments that help address internal noises in the ear, but he recommends an antioxidant called ginkgo biloba, for its ability to improve circulation in this organ.

se oye? Éste es un fenómeno perceptivo que consiste en escuchar sonidos que provienen no de fuera, sino del interior de los oídos. Las causalidades pueden ser variadas y la cura podría resultar tan simple como compleja.

Por José Manuel Meza De la audición existen muchas afecciones y molestias, pero hay una de la que en específico se conoce poco, aunque viene siendo de las más frecuentes, principalmente en personas de edad avanzada.

También nombrados acúfenos, los tinnitus son un problema auditivo en forma de zumbidos o campanilleos, que de acuerdo con el doctor José Carlos Gutiérrez Domínguez no tienen una etiología clara.

“Son más bien un síntoma, no una enfermedad en sí, y en palabras más sencillas significan ruidos en el oído, cuyo origen por lo general se desconoce por los pacientes.

“En estos casos debe de valorarse la intensidad de tales ruidos y ver el tipo de manifestaciones, pues hay quienes lo sienten como un vapor, como chasquidos, como grillos y de muchas formas más. Vienen a mi consultorio y me dicen, ‘–Doctor, quíteme este ruido, ya no lo tolero–’ ”, comentó.

De hecho, los tinnitus pueden estar en uno o ambos oídos y en diferentes intensidades, según explica el entrevistado.

Con casi 50 años como médico general por la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) y con 40 como especialista en otorrinolaringología por el Centro Médico Nacional 20 de Noviembre y el hospital Adolfo López Mateos, Gutiérrez Domínguez agregó que generalmente las causas más comunes de los tinnitus se vinculan con la exposición al ruido y la edad.

“Entre más años tenemos se incrementan las posibilidades de que presentemos dichos síntomas. Y si trabajamos en ambientes muy escandalosos, estridentes, de intensidades de más de 100 decibeles nos puede quedar un ruido permanente”, alertó. ¡PRECAUCIÓN!

El entrevistado expresó que quienes pueden

ser más proclives a sufrir tinnitus son los trabajadores que laboran con maquinarias ruidosas, las personas mayores e incluso, aquellos que utilizan muy elevado el volumen de los audífonos.

“Los jóvenes se están exponiendo a tener problemas no solamente con el ruido, sino que su aducción va a tender a disminuir de una forma importante y eso ya no tiene remedio, porque lo que se afecta es la parte nerviosa del oído”, precisó Gutiérrez Domínguez.

No obstante, los tinnitus, según el otorrinolaringólogo , también pueden derivarse de enfermedades propias del oído, por infección, por perforaciones del tímpano y hasta por un tapón de cerumen (cerilla) que está compactado.

“El paciente puede referir que tiene un sonido molesto. Le quitamos el obstáculo y el ruido desaparece, pero existen otras manifestaciones como cuando hay una membrana dañada o infección.

“Otras veces los acúfenos o tinnitus aparecen por la exposición a sonidos musicales elevados, la detonación de armas de fuego, y eso puede condicionarlos, pero también hay ruidos subjetivos, que quiere decir que sólo el paciente los escucha”, explicó.

MUY COMÚN Y A VECES INSOPORTABLE

De acuerdo con Gutiérrez Domínguez en Estados Unidos, donde existe una cultura estadística más completa, se sabe que existen 40 millones de personas con tinnitus, de los cuales 10 millones pueden sufrir alteraciones emocionales.

“Imagínense tener un ruido todo el tiempo, que la persona se duerme, se levanta y lo lleva siempre. Hay a quienes eso les puede originar una discapacidad o un accidente por no percibir adecuadamente este sentido.

“Además hay traumatismos craneales, alteraciones de tipo vascular que se trae consigo, que tienen una normalidad de un vaso sanguíneo. O bien, la hipertensión arterial, colesterol elevado o anemia, que ya en esos casos los tinnitus los pueden marcar factores externos”, añadió.

Algunos medicamentos también pueden ser los causantes de los ruidos e inclusive de vértigos.

“A las personas les tienes que hablar con la verdad, porque la gran mayoría se decepciona si es el caso que no tenga remedio.

“Además quienes padecen de ruido se van a deprimir, su carácter va a cambiar. Lo ideal es que acudan con un especialista, ya que hay razones que se pueden resolver o mejorar”, expresó.

Dijo que de cada 10 pacientes al menos el 20 por ciento tiene este problema y que los tinnitus se manifiestan en más del 80 por ciento de personas mayores de 70 años.

Mencionó que hay tratamientos que ayudan a atender los ruidos internos en el oído, pero él recomienda un antioxidante llamado ginkgo biloba, por sus capacidades para mejorar la circulación en este órgano.

It is a viral disease accompanied by rashes on the skin that can be given to children and adults.

It causes fever, weakness and multiple itching, for which prevention and timely attention is required.

By José Manuel Meza In 1980, before the use of the vaccine became widespread, measles caused about 2.6 million deaths per year.

Worldwide remains one of the leading causes of death in young children, as mentioned by the World Health Organization (WHO).

It is estimated that in 2015 more than 134 thousand people died due to this cause, most of them under 5 years old.

The incubation period for measles is four to twelve days in which there is no symptom, according to Velia Peña Betancourt, who is a surgeon and attends a family practice.

She mentioned that the way this virus is transmitted are from the spills of a sick organism, which ordinarily comes to be inhaled. It can also be infected by the use of objects and conjunctivae of the eyes.

“Transmission is practically due to direct contact with a patient and is transmitted through the respiratory system, cough or flu,” she said.

SOME SYMPTOMS

The clinical picture of this virus is a fever that can last for three days, in addition to coughing and conjunctivitis can also occur, but the most characteristic of measles are headto-toe eruptions as the time of the disease passes, which lasts for general 14 days, as detai-

“It is very common to see in children the reddish color on the skin, which disappears with the pressure of our fingers. These symptoms can be aggravated in immunosuppressed organisms. For example, those people of low weight who are not vitaminized or who are anemic.

“In adults, the signs are more severe and complications can be more serious, leading to bronchitis, pneumonia, encephalitis, meningitis, necrosis of the eyelids and eyes and that is more serious,” she warned.

IT CAN BE PREVENT

The interviewee said that the diagnosis of the disease is by clinical examination and laboratory.

“The therapy is supportive for the symptoms, but in this case, the measles can be previously avoided with a vaccine called triple viral.

She stated that in some countries it is the government’s obligation to apply it for free.

“The mortality is between one in one thousand cases. The predominance is global, but mainly in countries where environmental sanitation services are scarce, due to the unhealthiness of the places where people live.

“That’s all I can tell you in general data so that they know a little more about measles,” said Dr. Peña Betancourt.

ALGUNOS SÍNTOMAS

El cuadro clínico de este virus es una fiebre que puede permanecer durante tres días, además de tos y también puede haber conjuntivitis, pero lo más característico del sarampión son las erupciones de cabeza a pies conforme pasa el tiempo de la enfermedad, que dura por lo general 14 días, según detalló la médico cirujano.

“Es muy común ver en los niños el color rojizo en la piel, que desaparece con la presión de nuestros dedos. Estos síntomas pueden agravarse en organismos inmunodeprimidos. Por ejemplo, aquellas personas de bajo peso, que no estén vitaminadas o se encuentren anémicas.

“En los adultos los signos son más severos y las complicaciones pueden ser más graves, derivando en bronquitis, neumonía, encefalitis, meningitis, necrosis de los párpados y los ojos y eso es más grave”, alertó.

SE PUEDE PREVENIR

La entrevistada dijo que el diagnóstico de la enfermedad es por cuadro clínico y por laboratorio.

“La terapia es de apoyo para los síntomas, pero en este caso el sarampión se puede evitar previamente con una vacuna llamada triple viral”.

Afirmó que en algunos países es obligación del gobierno aplicarla gratuitamente.

“La mortalidad es entre uno de mil casos. El predominio es mundial, pero principalmente en países donde escasean los servicios de saneamiento ambiental, por insalubridad de los lugares donde habita la gente.

“Eso es todo lo que yo les puedo decir en datos generales para que conozcan un poquito del sarampión”, manifestó la doctora Peña Betancourt.

Rebuilding your self-esteem Breast cancer is the first cause of divorce and deaths after the mastectomy, in the country.

By Pamela Escobar Breast reconstruction is a surgery performed on cancer survivors, who after said disease had a mastectomy, that is, the removal of the mammary gland, in such a way that the breast or breasts are reconstructed.

According to the reconstructive aesthetic surgeon, Oscar Gerardo González Rodríguez, it is a very broad procedure that can be performed at one or several different times, all of this will depend on the patient, as he said, all cases are and are approached in different ways.

“To begin with, we have to work together with the oncologist, who decides what to do with the breast that has cancer.

Since there are procedures that can be conservative, that is, the areola-nipple complex is preserved and immediate reconstruction is done,” he said.

FIRST STAGE

There are two ways for breast reconstruction, one of them is by means of prosthetic implants or with tissue from the same patient.

In the case of implants, in turn, they can be of two types through immediate reconstruction, that is, during mastectomy surgery; which is to place the implant directly.

The other, when the patient underwent a mastectomy and it has already been some time, in which case, the tissue expanders are used, which are used to make a space to place the implant, since the tissue and skin have been removed and they are retracted.

“These artifacts are a sachet similar to the implant that is filled with solution to achieve the adequate volume, depending on the healthy breast and in a second surgery to place the definitive implant; there are some expanders that are definitive, since they exert both functions (expand and give the volume),” detailed the specialist.

He added that autologous tissues are known in the medical environment as muscle-cutaneous flaps and muscle flaps. In the case of the first ones, skin, muscle or both of the latissimus dorsi (the fin) is placed on the back and they move towards the chest area to give the volume and make the reconstruction.

In the case of the muscular flaps, there are two main ones that are used called tram flaps, the skin and one of the rectus abdominis muscles are taken to the chest to give the

volume to that area.

“After any of these different procedures is how the first part of the restoration of the breast is concluded,” said the doctor.

SECOND STAGE

The second phase is the reconstruction of the areola-nipple section, part of the breast that is also removed when radical surgeries are performed.

For this there are multiple techniques, said the doctor, one of the most common is to place a skin graft of the same patient or make a design with flaps with portions of the skin of the same breast, making some cuts in a special way that is able to build the nipple-areola.

LAST STAGE

In a third time the symmetry is performed, same that can be done during the same surgery, when a single breast is reconstructed, it must be achieved that the new one is equal to the other one.

“What is done is to intervene the healthy side to try to take it to the greatest possible symmetry so that the patient can recover her

self-esteem that can be lost after suffering from cancer, as well as eliminate the psychological affectation when being mutilated by the loss of one of her breasts,” said the plastic surgeon.

OBJECTIVE OF THE RECONSTRUCTION

González Rodríguez said that the number one goal of breast reconstruction is to restore selfesteem to the patient.

“When the breast is removed and they look in the mirror, it hits them very, very hard and the divorce rate in cancer patients is very high.

Unfortunately, as men, we do not have the culture. There is still a certain Mexican machismo and if the couple is not well identified with the problem, it is very frequent the break in the marriage,” said the doctor.

He added that one of the problems is that the women feel sorry even in the privacy of not having a breast and that is start to break the marriage, so the reconstruction helps the patient to restore confidence and self-confidence.

tients and the reconstruction of the breast to achieve a comprehensive recovery,” he said.

ACCESSIBILITY AND FREQUENCY OF THE PROCEDURE

According to Dr. González Rodríguez, breast cancer ranks first among women of reproductive age, that is, from 14 to 40 years old.

Breast reconstruction can be done in both breasts, at the same time and or at different times.

“We had the case that a breast was already amputated by a cancer and at the time it has a new tumor in the contralateral breast and the first breast has already passed the recovery period so the reconstruction can be done and the other it can be done immediately or in a second time, although we have had cases of bilateral reconstruction,” said González Rodríguez.

La reconstrucción mamaria es la cirugía que se realiza a pacientes sobrevivientes de cáncer, que tras dicha enfermedad se les practicó la mastectomía, es decir, la extirpación de la glándula mamaria, de tal manera que se construye nuevamente el o los senos.

De acuerdo con el cirujano estético reconstructivo, Oscar Gerardo González Rodríguez, es un procedimiento muy amplio que se puede realizar en uno o varios tiempos diferentes, todo ello dependerá del paciente, pues dijo, todos los casos son y se abordan de diferentes maneras.

“Para empezar, tenemos que trabajar conjuntamente con el oncólogo, que es quien decide qué es lo que va hacer con la mama que tiene cáncer.

Existen dos maneras para la reconstrucción mamaria, uno de ellos es por medio de implantes protésicos o bien con tejido de la misma paciente.

En el caso de los implantes, a su vez, pueden ser de dos tipos mediante la reconstrucción inmediata, es decir, durante la cirugía de la mastectomía; que es colocar directamente el implante.

La otra, cuando a la paciente se le realizó una mastectomía y ya ha pasado cier-

to tiempo, en cuyo caso, se utilizan los expansores tisulares, mismos que sirven para hacer un espacio para colocar el implante, ya que el tejido y la piel se han retraído.

“Dichos artefactos son una bolsita similar al implante que se va rellenando de solución hasta lograr o conseguir el volumen adecuado, dependiendo de la mama sana y en una segunda cirugía colocar el implante definitivo; hay algunos expansores que son definitivos, pues ejercen ambas funciones, (expandir y dar el volumen)” detalló el especialista.

Añadió que los tejidos autólogos se conocen en el ambiente médico como colgajos músculo-cutáneos y colgajos musculares. En el caso de los primeros, se lleva piel, músculo o ambos del dorsal ancho (la aleta) ubicado en la espalda y se mueven hacia la zona pectoral para dar el volumen y hacer la reconstrucción.

En el caso de los colgajos musculares, hay dos principales que se usan, denominados colgajos tram, la piel y uno de los músculos rectos del abdomen se llevan al pecho para darle el volumen a dicha zona.

“Tras cualquiera de estos distintos procedimientos es como se concluye la primera parte de la restauración de la mama”, señaló el médico.

SEGUNDA ETAPA

La segunda fase es la reconstrucción del complejo areola-pezón, parte del seno que también es retirada cuando se realizan cirugías radicales.

Para ello hay múltiples técnicas, precisó el médico, una de las más habituales es colocar un injerto de la misma paciente o hacer un diseño con colgajos y porciones de piel de mismo pecho, haciendo algunos cortes de forma especial que se logra construir la areola-pezón.

ULTIMA ETAPA

En un tercer tiempo se realiza la simetrización, misma que se puede hacer durante la misma cirugía, cuando se reconstruye una sola mama, se debe lograr que la nueva sea igual a la otra.

“Lo que se hace es intervenir el lado sano para tratar de llevarlo a la mayor simetría posible de tal manera que la paciente pueda recuperar la autoestima que puede verse perdida tras padecer cáncer, así como eliminar la afectación psicológica al verse mutilada por la pérdida de uno de sus senos”, afirmó el cirujano plástico.

OBJETIVO DE LA RECONSTRUCCIÓN

González Rodríguez expresó que el objetivo numero uno de la reconstrucción mamaria es devolverle la autoestima a la paciente.

“Cuando se les retira la mama y se ven al espejo les pega muy, muy duro y el índice de divorcios en pacientes con cáncer es muy alto. Desgraciadamente como hombres no tenemos la cultura. Todavía existe cierto machismo mexicano y si la pareja no esta bien identificada con el problema, es muy frecuente la ruptura en los matrimonios”, comentó el médico.

Añadió además que uno de los problemas es que a la mujer le da pena incluso en la intimidad el no tener un seno y eso va quebrantando la relación matrimonial, por lo que la reconstrucción ayuda a la paciente a devolverle la confianza y la seguridad en sí misma.

“Es muy importante, institucionalmente es prioritario, tanto el manejo de las pacientes con cáncer como la reconstrucción de la mama para lograr una recuperación integral”, precisó.

ACCESIBILIDAD Y FRECUENCIA DEL PROCEDIMIENTO

A decir del Dr. González Rodríguez, el cáncer de mama ocupa el primer lugar de muertes en mujeres en edad reproductiva, es decir, desde los 14 hasta los 40 años.

Pues advirtió que si se llega hasta la reconstrucción de mama es porque no se tiene la cultura de la auto exploración, se detecta en formas tardías y el prónostico

se traduce en, muy malo.

“En el lado opuesto, si se detecta a tiempo y no se llega a la extirpación completa del seno, se denomina cirugía conservadora, es decir, mastectomía subcutánea o parcial, justo donde usamos los implantes para llevar el volumen más o menos similar al del otro lado y listo”, mencionó.

Actualmente hay protocolos para la cirugía conservadora por parte del cancerólogo que permiten hacer la reconstrucción en el momento, pero va a depender de las características y el tamaño o estadía de la tumoración para poder tomar una decisión.

El tiempo de recuperación va a depender del método utilizado en cada paciente, en el caso de la reconstrucción inmediata es un lapso similar a las mujeres que se ponen implantes de manera cosmética, pues en dos o tres semanas vuelven a su vida prácticamente normal.

“Cuando se hace por medio del expansor, el proceso se prolonga y va a depender del tamaño de seno contra lateral, porque es el tiempo que nos vamos a tardar en inflar el expansor que pueden ser de dos meses y posteriormente las otras fases hasta 8 meses, o un año en que se concluye el proceso total de reconstrucción”, advirtió el cirujano.

ya pasó el período de recuperación por lo que se le puede hacer la reconstrucción y la otra se puede hacer de manera inmediata o en un segundo tiempo, aunque sí hemos tenido casos de reconstrucción bilateral”, expresó González Rodríguez.

PROCESO MULTIDICIPLINARIO

Aunado a todo lo anterior González Rodríguez señaló que para una reconstrucción de mama son muchos los especialistas que forman parte de dicho proceso, convirtiéndolo en multidisciplinario.

“De manera inicial, sobre todo cuando se realizan cirugías radicales, el oncólogo el psicólogo, el cirujano plástico reconstructivo, los médicos nucleares u oncólo-

gos clínicos que son lo que administran las quimio o radio terapias y el patólogo, quien es el que va a definir la estirpe y el grado de avance de la tumoración, entre otros”, comentó.

Añadió que todos los cirujanos plásticos certificados están capacitados para manejar una situación de este tipo, por eso se recomienda acudir con ellos para este tipo de procedimientos.

“Todas aquellas mujeres que estén en una situación de este tipo, coméntenlo con su oncólogo, qué posibilidades hay de manejar una reconstrucción, inmediata o en forma tardía. En la localidad es posible realizar cualquier tipo de procedimientos de este tipo gracias a los especialistas que nos encontramos aquí”, expresó.

Women and people with diabetes are among the most vulnerable groups to get urinary tract infections or UTI and should visit specialists to treat them.

By Pamela Escobar Urinary tract infections are recurrent diseases and sometimes they are not given the importance or necessary treatments, according to urologist Rogelio Gómez Loredo.

The specialist explained that some of the symptoms that accompany this condition are itching, intense burning when urinating and if this is not controlled or treated, the burning causes inflammation, which in turn causes bleeding and even pus.

“It is an infection caused by bacteria, fungi or viruses in the urinary tract that are integrated by systems that excrete urine inward from the kidney, urethra, bladder and ureters,” he explained. The doctor added that they are commonly external infections, especially in women because of their anatomy, since they are more likely to be contagious also during intimacy.

“When talking about the anatomy of women, I refer to the urethra, which is the tube that goes from the bladder to the outside and in them measures two centimeters, then anything, heat, humidity, poor hygiene, bacteria that migrate from the rectum forward, flow, they can invade or penetrate the urethra and become infected.”

Las mujeres y las personas con diabetes figuran entre los grupos más vulnerables para contraer infecciones urinarias y deben visitar a especialistas para tratarlas.

Por Pamela Escobar Las infecciones urinarias son padecimientos recurrentes y que a veces no se les da la importancia o tratamientos necesarios, de acuerdo con el urólogo Rogelio Gómez Loredo.

El especialista detalló que algunos de los síntomas que acompañan a dicho padecimiento son comezón, ardor intenso al orinar y si esto no se controla o trata, el ardor provoca inflamación, que a su vez produce sangrado y hasta pus.

“Es una infección producida por bacterias, hongos o virus en las vías urinarias que están integradas por los sistemas que excretan la orina hacia el interior que van desde el riñón, uretra, vejiga y uréteres”, explicó.

El médico añadió que comúnmente son infecciones externas, sobre todo en la mujer por su anatomía, ya que tiene más probabilidades de contagio también durante la intimidad.

“Al hablar de la anatomía de la mujer me refiero a la uretra, que es el tubo que va de la vejiga hacia el exterior y en ellas mide dos centímetros, entonces cualquier cosa, calor, humedad, mal aseo, bacterias que emigren del recto hacia delante, flujo, pueden invadir o penetrar en la uretra y se infecte”.

Gómez Loredo agregó que en cambio en el hombre es muy difícil que suceda lo mismo, desde el punto de vista anatómico, pues es casi imposible que una bacteria avance por afuera y luego por dentro del pene para el contagio.

“La consecuencia más grande de estas infecciones en las mujeres es el aguantar ir al baño, junto con no tomar agua, en el caso del agua no es para que se mantenga hidratado, sino para que

orine cada dos horas, como es debido”, precisó.

Comentó que en el caso de las infecciones virales en su mayoría se contraen por enfermedades de transmisión sexual, mientras que las bacterianas son comunes por mal aseo o por relaciones sexuales donde se trasladan dichas bacterias u hongos de un lugar a otro y quienes llevan la mayor parte es la mujer.

“No hay alimentos que provoquen infecciones urinarias, sin embargo si hay algunos que hacen que empeore el estado del paciente, ya que si se tiene ardor o inflamación y se ingiere alimentos irritantes, cítricos o ácidos, van a empeorar los síntomas”,explicó.

“Luego la infección continúa su avance hasta ascender a los riñones y posteriormente produce una pielonefritis, que es una infección muy seria, misma que hace que el paciente sea hospitalizado de emergencia”, explicó.

Señaló que cuando la infección provoca que salga pus es tan grave que se debe internar al paciente y aunque no es mortal, es muy riesgosa, pues puede llevarte hasta el quirófano.

“Cuando son pacientes diabéticos, los que tienen pielonefritis, se debe tener mucho cuidado porque ya que pueden desarrollar ade-

más abscesos en el riñón y acaban en cirugía”, precisó.

El especialista advirtió que la mujer es más propensa a problemas de infecciones urinarias en edad reproductiva y cuando ya pasaron la menopausia, por la baja de estrógenos, misma que provoca infecciones de manera recurrente.

“La falta de estrógenos reseca todo; la piel, el cabello y todos los tubos que tenemos. Entonces, en la mujer, durante las relaciones sexuales hay resequedad vaginal, ya que hay falta de humedad en la uretra y al salir la orina, que es ácida, inflama y de ahí es presa fácil de las bacterias que desencadenan una infección”, detalló.

Afirmó que los urólogos son los especialistas en la vejiga, pueden detectar las causas de infecciones frecuentes y en el caso de las mujeres pues los ginecólogos, aunque también se puede consultar a los médicos generales.

“Estos últimos sólo se dedican a dar el tratamiento para los síntomas, no así las causas; cuando son recurrentes se debe de consultar al especialista, ya sea urólogo o ginecólogo para evitar que se convierta en una pielonefritis”, advirtió.

Tener un amigo imaginario estimula la creatividad y la imaginación del niño y en ocasiones, refleja sus sentimientos y emociones.

Un niño está en el comedor listo para degustar su platillo favorito, llega su mamá y se dispone a sentarse junto él, en una silla vacía, cuando el niño grita: “¡no mamá, ahí está mi amigo!”, ante la incredulidad de ella que no entiende qué está pasando.

La explicación a esto es: un amigo imaginario.

Un amigo imaginario es alguien que en realidad no existe, pero que el niño ve como si así lo fuera.

La psicóloga Arely Martínez Jiménez, dijo que la creación de un amigo imaginario se presenta entre el 50 y el 70 por ciento de los niños y es algo temporal, no estacionario.

Un artículo publicado en la edición digital del periódico El País, titulado “¿Por qué surgen los amigos imaginarios en la infancia?”, menciona un estudio realizado por la Universidad de Washington y la Universidad de Oregón.

En él se dice que dos de cada tres niños, de entre 4 y 7 años, tienen un amigo imaginario.

Dice también que de la muestra que consideró a 152 niños, el 70 por ciento eran hijos únicos o primogénitos.

“No genera ningún problema, no es nada grave y es normal dentro del desarrollo de los niños, puede darse entre los 2 a los 4 años y terminar entre los 7 u 8 años”, dijo.

Es en esta edad donde su pensamiento se vuelve más lógico y racional.

Explicó que regularmente se da en los niños que no tienen mucha comunicación con otros niños o que están aislados.

“Los niños buscan ser un poco más sociables o desarrollar su imaginación, ayuda mucho en la creatividad”, agregó.

Explicó que puede presentarse en niños cuyos padres trabajen y no están suficiente tiempo con ellos.

“Además en la escuelita no conviven con todos los niños, o nada más están con adultos que no les estimulan la creatividad o que son solamente cuidadores”, comentó Martínez Jiménez.

¿CUÁNDO PREOCUPARSE?

Algunos padres se preocupan cuando ven este comportamiento en su hijo, inclusive algunos se asustan pensando en algún suceso sobrenatural.

“Hay que preocuparse cuando el niño diga o realice algún comportamiento negativo supuestamente incitado por el amigo imaginario, por ejemplo, que le diga que no juegue con los papás, o que son malos, ahí ya entran cuestiones emocionales y psicológicas”, agregó.

Se convierte en un escaparate para expresar alguna molestia o carencia afectiva.

“Cuando el niño diga que su amigo le pide hacer cosas malas, los padres le recordarán las cosas buenas que le

han enseñado por lo que no debe comportarse de esa manera, depende de la situación y el contexto que se esté viviendo”, detalló.

CON CALMA Y COMPRENSIÓN

La especialista en Modificación de Conducta recomendó a los padres de familia acercarse a sus hijos y participar en sus juegos y actividades.

“Pueden armar rompecabezas, leer cuentos o actividades de ese tipo, si te empiezas a incluir va a llegar el momento en que tu niño va a descartar a su amigo por incluirte a ti, porque ya hay una interacción y va a preferir siempre a papá o mamá”, explicó la experta.

Instó a los padres a tomar la situación con calma, observar la situación y formar su propio criterio, pero sobre todo, a descartar opiniones y comentarios de terceras personas que, aunque quizás estén bien intencionadas, no conozcan sobre el tema.

No se les debe regañar, por tener un amigo imaginario, pero tampoco fomentarles la existencia de uno.

“Al jugar con su amigo imaginario ellos te hablan de sus necesidades, aunque es parte de la estimulación y la creatividad, salen a flote emociones y sentimientos”, expresó.

La doctora Cinthia Gutiérrez Rodríguez, explicó que existen diferentes tipos de golpes y depende del daño o la intensidad con la que se hayan producido.

Pueden ser desde la rotura de pequeños vasos hasta la lesión de otros órganos y tejidos.

Dijo que los golpes que ocasionen heridas, así como los que se produjeron en la cara, el área de los ojos y oídos, son de gran consideración.

Agregó que también en los que son causados por caídas de ciertas alturas, debe ponerse atención.

Según la médico general, el daño generado dependerá de la forma en que fue producido.

En algunas ocasiones, dijo, se produce un abultamiento en la zona del golpe.

“Esto pasa porque la lesión pudo ser más profunda e involucró más tejidos y hubo más inflamación, en otros casos solo puede haber una rotura de vasos superficiales y aparecer un hematoma o moretón”, detalló Gutiérrez Rodríguez.

DATOS DE ALARMA

Nunca debe restársele interés a un traumatismo en la cabeza, por lo que la doctora Gutiérrez Rodríguez detalló algunas de las acciones que los padres deben realizar cuando se produzca un accidente de este tipo.

“Deben revisar el sitio del golpe, ver si hay herida, hundimiento de los huesos del cráneo o alguna deformidad; ver que el niño este consciente y solicitar atención médica en caso de que presente signos de alerta”, expresó.

Se consideran signos de alerta cuando además del golpe hay una herida y sangrado abundante, hundimientos en el cráneo, dolor

intenso y llanto excesivo.

Mareo y pérdida de equilibrio también forman parte de la lista de síntomas, así como náuseas, vómito posterior al golpe, pérdida de la visión o audición, convulsiones, fiebre y pérdida de la conciencia.

“Pueden manifestarse de inmediato o incluso horas o días después”, precisó.

Por el contrario, si el golpe fue leve y el niño se ve tranquilo, la médico recomendó disminuir el dolor e inflamación con un analgésico y desinflamatorio, pero deberán observarlo algunas horas.

Sin embargo, dijo que si se tienen dudas en cuanto a la administración de algún medicamento para el dolor causado por el golpe, lo mejor es acudir con su médico para que le indique la dosis exacta.

“Si es un golpe superficial puede dejarle sólo un hematoma, es decir, un moretón pequeño que en unos días se le irá desapareciendo; si es una lesión mayor por ejemplo en el caso de una fractura pudiera tener daño cerebral”, advirtió la doctora.

LABIOPLASTIA

El cirujano plástico certificado Édgar Arturo Riverón Valle, dijo que estos son la labioplastia, la cirugía de reducción del capuchón del clítoris, reducción de labios mayores, cirugía del Monte de Venus y la vaginoplastia.

Los no quirúrgicos son el O-Shot, el G-Shot, la radiofrecuencia y el láser.

Explicó que la edad los cambios hormonales, la presencia de hijos por vía vaginal, el uso de fórceps e inclusive la genética, pueden alterar la imagen de la zona, provocando inseguridades en las mujeres.

LABIOPLASTIA

La labioplastía es la reducción de los labios menores, ya sea porque están asimétricos, porque salen del límite de los labios externos.

También puede ser debido a que el paciente haya sufrido alguna torsión al realizar algún deporte, en algún estiramiento o

durante las relaciones sexuales.

“Puede ser simplemente por cuestión estética, que la paciente no se sienta cómoda o con una baja autoestima”, dijo el médico.

Explicó que la cirugía consiste básicamente en realizar una resección del tejido redundante, es decir, extirparlo o retirarlo.

Se utiliza sutura absorbible, por lo que no hay necesidad de retirar puntos.

REDUCCIÓN DE LABIOS MAYORES

El doctor comentó que muchas veces las pacientes se sienten incómodas al usar ropa ajustada, por ejemplo leggins y lucir una especie de bulto, resultando en algo socialmente incómodo.

En estos casos, el procedimiento indicado es la reducción de labios mayores.

REDUCCIÓN DEL MONTE DE VENUS

A la zona situada sobre el hueso púbico cubierta de vello se le llama Monte de Venus.

Para realizar una reducción, el doctor dijo que si su tamaño o volumen se debe a exceso de grasa se hace una liposucción.

Pero si es mucha piel y dependiendo del tamaño se reseca y probablemente deban dejarse unos drenajes por tres o cuatro días.

En este caso, se usará sutura que deberá retirarse.

REDUCCIÓN DEL CAPUCHÓN DEL CLÍTORIS

El cirujano plástico dijo que un prepucio redundante va a ser más evidente al resecar los labios mayores.

El también llamado prepucio, puede ser una zona prominente que físicamente incomode al paciente, por lo que se hace una pequeña reducción.

VAGINOPLASTIA

Luego del parto, sobre todo en el que se usaron fórceps, cuestiones hormonales y la sensación de que se ha perdido el tono muscular, es lo que lleva a las pacientes a optar por una vaginoplastia.

“El sentir que están separados un poco los músculos y durante el acto sexual hay menos fricción, menos satisfacción es una razón para la realización de esta cirugía”, dijo Riverón Valle.

Agregó que si se utiliza algún tipo de tampón se puede tener la sensación de que se está moviendo.

“Lo que se hace es una reducción del túnel vaginal, se tensan los músculos y se quita la piel redundante”, explicó.

CADA DÍA EN AUMENTO

Para someterse a alguno de estos procedimientos se debe de gozar de buena salud, tanto física como emocional.

No hay una edad considerada como adecuada para realizarlo, sin embargo, son mujeres de entre 19 a 35 o 40 años, quienes acuden con su cirujano para someterse a alguno de los procedimientos.

Las mujeres que tengan alguna lesión premaligna, derivada del cáncer, que hayan sido operadas o les hayan realizado radioterapia no son candidatas para ellos.

Tampoco quienes por alguna cuestión hormonal o anatómica tengan caída la vejiga.

Advirtió que si es diabético o hipertenso debe llevar un buen control de su enfermedad y contar siempre con una valoración preoperatoria emitida por el área de Medicina Interna.

“Hay que dar prioridad a la cuestión funcional y si ahí se puede aprovechar el momento para hacer alguna cirugía estética se puede hacer, pero nunca va a ir

primero lo estético que lo funcional”, advirtió el médico.

Dijo que aunque actualmente es poco común, el rejuvenecimiento vaginal va en incremento.

“Son de los procedimientos que de un año a otro tuvieron más alta la incidencia porcentual, hablando de un 39 por ciento comparado con el año previo, según estadísticas de la Asociación Americana de Cirugía Plástica, sobre el 2016”, expresó.

Agregó que en ese año se hicieron alrededor de 12 mil procedimientos, derivados de la evolución, apertura y la educación sexual.

“Es algo que se trata de forma más abierta, no solamente por parte de los médicos, sino también de los pacientes y de los medios de comunicación”, explicó.

RIESGOS BAJOS

El cirujano dijo que en el mismo tiempo quirúrgico se pueden realizar varios procedimientos, utilizando la anestesia local que puede ser apoyada con sedación o hacerlo bajo anestesia general o regional.

“Los riesgos son bajos, son muy parecidos a los de cualquier herida, es una zona naturalmente contaminada, que es diferente a infectada, por lo que lo más común sería una infección”, advirtió.

También puede presentarse algún sangrado, una hinchazón prolongada y alteraciones a veces por la cicatrización pero, dijo, es algo mínimo.

Explicó que si es algo menor el cuerpo lo va a absorber, si es un pequeño hematoma o moretón, se tiene que hacer una pequeña incisión para liberar y sacar el coágulo.

Destacó que no se tienen antecedentes de disminución de la sensibilidad.

El médico explicó que además de la cuestión estética, también hay indicaciones médicas para realizar las cirugías.

Deben realizarse cuando el paciente se esté pellizcando porque esté muy grande o cuando haya torceduras.

“La salud es física y emocional y en la vida íntima a veces es muy importante la emocional y tener una autoestima baja se refleja en todos los ámbitos”, agregó.

Tras someterse a cualquiera de los procedimientos el médico dijo que es recomendable tomar una semana de reposo y volver al trabajo una semana después.

También dijo que hay que evitar los tampones y las relaciones sexuales alrededor de cuatro a seis semanas.

Explicó que cuando hay resecciones, el 90 por ciento de la inflamación se presenta en las primeras seis semanas y puede durar hasta por cuatro o cinco meses.

“Es uno de los procedimientos que tienen una satisfacción más alta, arriba del 90 por ciento, según los reportes del 2016 de la Asociación Americana de Cirugía Plástica”, agregó. Advirtió que siempre debe ser un equipo multidisciplinario el que trate al paciente, pero también debe contar con el apoyo de los padres si es menor edad y si es mayor, con el de su pareja, incluso, deben estar con apoyo emocional.

El doctor Riverón Valle recomendó consultar con un cirujano plástico certificado.

También destacó la importancia de que haya una buena relación medico-paciente para hablar sobre la realidad de las expectativas que se tienen.

It also serves for the management of metabolic diseases such as diabetes, high blood pressure and lack of control of triglycerides and cholesterol.

Surgeon General Oscar Humberto Treviño Mireles mentioned that it is designed for this type of diseases.

“It is a technique derived from a procedure already described, which is the gastric mini bypass; This was modified by a Spanish doctor, Dr. Carbajo with whom we trained and has had certain technical changes in terms of the development of the bypass,” he said.

Con el bypass europeo no solamente se logra la reducción de peso, también se controlan las enfermedades metabólicas.

El bypass europeo es una técnica bariátrica reciente y una de las cirugías más novedosas para el control de la obesidad.

También sirve para el manejo de enfermedades metabólicas como la diabetes, la hipertensión arterial y el descontrol de los triglicéridos y el colesterol.

El cirujano general Oscar Humberto Treviño Mireles mencionó que está diseñada para este tipo de enfermedades.

“Es una técnica derivada de un procedimiento ya descrito, que es el minibypass gástrico; éste fue modificado por un médico español, el doctor Carbajo con quien nos entrenamos y ha tenido ciertas modificaciones técnicas en cuanto a la elaboración del bypass”, mencionó.

Agregó que es una técnica muy noble en cuanto a manejo operatorio, que le ofrece al paciente menos riesgo de complicaciones en comparación con el bypass tradicional, como lo son la obstrucción intestinal, las hernias internas y el sangrado.

Explicó que es una cirugía mixta en la que se hace un procedimiento restrictivo. “Vamos a cortar la capacidad gástrica del estómago y vamos a tener un componente de mala absorción, se unirá un segmento intestinal, le vamos a dar una longitud y lo vamos a cortar”, dijo el especialista .

Detalló que al igual que en el bypass americano, se toma una medida estándar, se corta y une a un remanente de estómago que se llama pouch gástrico.

“Ahí se une el intestino delgado que va a tener una longitud para alimentar al paciente, se elimina o se brinca un segmento donde pasan los jugos pancreáticos y los jugos biliares, ahí no se mezcla con el alimento y no hay absorción”, precisó.

Se llama bypass porque se va a brincar un segmento intestinal. “En el bypass europeo hacemos algo similar al bypass tradicional, hacemos un pouch pero lo hacemos un poquito más longitudinal, de 12 centímetros y vamos a medir completamente el intestino delgado, tenemos una fórmula para sacar una medida y esa medida es la que vamos a unir al estómago sin hacer un corte”, agregó.

De esta forma, los jugos gástricos siguen su curso normal y llegan al área del estómago donde está unido y continúa hacia el segmento intestinal que será un poco más corto.

Son cortes laterales, pero no secciones de intestino, no se va a separar, pero sí se hace un corte lateral para unir.

Mencionó que el resto del intestino sigue su función

normal secretando sus hormonas, jugos gástricos, etc.

CAMBIO DE VIDA

Treviño Mireles detalló que para someterse a este procedimiento bariátrico se debe tener un índice de masa corporal de 35.

También quienes tengan enfermedades metabólicas, apnea del sueño, insuficiencia respiratoria, problemas circulatorios periféricos, osteoartrosis u otro tipo de patologías.

“Si el paciente tiene un índice de 40 sin ningún tipo de enfermedad también es candidato”, comentó.

Quienes sean alcohólicos, consuman algún tipo de droga, tengan alguna enfermedad psicológica severa y que no puedan adaptarse a los cambios que deben realizar, así como jóvenes menores de 16 años, no podrán someterse a tal procedimiento.

Sin embargo, el doctor dijo que en algunos casos de pacientes menores de 16 años realizan algunas excepciones, siempre y cuando sean aptos psicológicamente.

PERSONAS MAYORES DE 65 AÑOS ESTÁN TOTALMENTE DESCARTADAS

La cirugía tiene una duración de hasta tres horas y media, se realiza por vía laparoscópica, con anestesia general y la recuperación se da en una semana.

El pasado sábado 21 de abril, rescató de las aguas del canal Anzaldúas, a un joven, a la altura de la colonia Praderas de Oriente.

Tras recibir un llamado, el personal de Rescate Acuático de Bomberos acudió con la unidad Titán Paloma al mencionado afluente, donde se reportaba una víctima de ahogamiento.

De inmediato los rescatistas se introdujeron a las aguas del canal para extraer con vida a la persona, de quien se omite su identidad.

Se le brindaron los primeros auxilios, gracias a la preparación del personal de la Coordinación de Protección Civil y Bomberos y su oportuna intervención.

El gobierno municipal de Reynosa a través de Protección Civil hace un llamado a toda la población para que evite sumergirse en las aguas de ríos y canales y así evitar el peligro de ahogamiento por inmersión.

The new

super bacteria called

‘nightmare’

A patient who had been in India was hospitalized in Washoe County in Reno, Nevada, United States and presented an infectious pattern resistant to the 26 existing antibiotics.

The resistance of the so-called “nightmare” bacteria to the new antibiotics would be reaching dangerous levels and spreading alarmingly, beyond what scientists would have predicted would happen, according to a study published by the American scientific journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.

It is possible, even that people could be contagious without even perceiving symptoms of that situation, say researchers at the School of Public Health T.H. Chan from Harvard and the Broad Institute, from MIT and Harvard.

“We often talk about the growing wave of resistance to antibiotics in apocalyptic terms,” says William Hanage, lead author of the study and associate professor of epidemiology at the Harvard Chan School, according to a publication by the international news network CNN. “But we should always remember that the people who are most at risk could be in danger of catching any infection because they tend to be among the weakest people in the health care system.”

When a bacteria that causes a disease disappears with the traditional drugs treatments, patients are given antibiotics such as carbapenems as a last option. However, some “nightmare bacteria” continue to grow even if the strongest drugs are applied, reserved for the most complicated cases.

The CRE, which tends to spread in hospitals and long-term care centers, causes about 9,300 infections and 600 deaths each year in the United States, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). And the numbers are increasing.

THE GENETICS OF THE INFECTION

For 16 months, the team of Harvard and MIT researchers examined gene sequences from about 250 samples of patients

who had the CRE bacteria in four hospitals in the cities of Boston and Irvine, California.

“A lot of people have done a very good job concentrating on things like outbreaks of disease,” says Hanage. But he and his colleagues, instead, wanted to get a “picture” of the population affected with the CRE bacteria, to determine how often these infections occur and to understand which bacterial strains are causing other infections within hospitals.

First, the researchers found very little evidence of direct transmission among patients who became ill in health centers.

“There was one, maybe two, in all the samples we checked,” explains Hanage.

Based on that, experts believe that the transmission could be happening without causing symptoms.

In other words, people infected by these microbes could be spreading them without knowing it and even without getting sick themselves.

According to Alex Kallen, medical adviser to the Division of Quality Promotion in Health Services of the CDC and who was not involved in the study, “the most common source of transmission with the CRE is asymptomatic.” Most patients will not feel any of the symptoms of the bacteria, which is lodged in the gastrointestinal tract, according to Kallen.

The research also documented “an identical gene in different species.” And according to Hanage, “the scope of everything that has happened is quite surprising.”

“In addition, we found two cases of high-level resistance that we could not explain.”

Hanage compares it to dark matter: “We know it’s there because we can see its effects, but we do not know what really makes it happen.”

“If I had to criticize my own work I would say that it is a pity that we have not been able to cover more hospitals and get more samples within the health systems,” he says.

Limited by the resources, the researchers could not trace whether the transmission was in a long-term care center or in the community, outside the hospitals they studied.

That was the case of a recent CRE infection at a hospital in Reno, Nevada.

The patient, a Washoe County woman who was a little more than 70 years old, had lived a long time in India. She returned to the United States at the beginning of last August.

Upon returning, the woman suffered a systemic inflammatory response syndrome, a reaction of her immune system to an infection, and was admitted to the Reno hospital. Two months before returning, she had been hospitalized in India, in one of the many hospitalizations she suffered due to the complications of a femur fracture.

She was in the hospital in Reno almost six days before the CDC confirmed that her infection had been caused by a strain of CRE called NDM. “There are two primary types of CRE: one is called New Delhi Metallo-beta-lactamase, or NDM, and the other is called Klebsiella pneumoniae carbapenemase or KPC,” says Lei Chen, a senior epidemiologist in the Washoe County health district.

Both strains have specific enzymes that can destroy carbapenemic antibiotics, causing those drugs to lose their effectiveness, explains Chen.

In the case of the woman from Washoe County, her infection was resistant to

Chen and his colleagues suggest treating the issue as they do in the Netherlands, where at the time of admission of patients, health centers have the medical records of these people in health centers outside the area, and where they conduct examinations of patients. CRE those who report having visited a place with a high incidence of the bacteria.

After Ebola, measles, and Zika, many hospitals in the United States began asking for the medical records of other centers during the admission of patients.

Los holandeses tienen una de las tasas más de resistencia a los antibióticos a nivel global, dice Hanage, porque ellos identifican a las personas que están en riesgo antes de que lleguen al hospital.

“Pero siempre deberíamos recordar que las personas que más riesgos tienen podrían estar en peligro de contagiarse de cualquier infección, porque suelen estar entre las personas más débiles dentro del sistema de atención en salud”.

Cuando una bacteria causante de una enfermedad desaparece con los medicamentos tradicionales, a los pacientes se les suministran antibióticos como los carbapenémicos como medida de última opción. Sin embargo, algunas “bacterias pesadilla” siguen creciendo incluso aunque se apliquen los fármacos más fuertes, reservados para los casos más complicados.

La CRE, que tiende a propagarse en hospitales y centros de asistencia prolongada, causa cerca de 9 mil 300 infecciones y 600 muertes cada año en Estados Unidos, según los Centros para el Control y la Prevención de Enfermedades (CDC, por sus siglas en inglés). Y las cifras van en aumento.

LA GENÉTICA DE LA INFECCIÓN

Durante 16 meses, el equipo de investigadores de Harvard y del MIT examinó secuencias genéticas de unas 250 muestras de pacientes que tenían la bacteria CRE en cuatro hospitales de las ciudades de Boston e Irvine (California).

“Mucha gente ha hecho un trabajo muy bueno concentrándose en cosas como los brotes de las enfermedades”, dice Hanage.

Pero él y sus colegas, en cambio, querían obtener una “fotografía” de la población afectada con la bacteria CRE, para determinar la frecuencia con la que ocurren esas infecciones y comprender qué cepas bacterianas están causando otras infecciones dentro de los hospitales.

Primero, los investigadores encontraron muy poca evidencia de transmisión directa entre los pacientes que se enfermaron en los centros de salud. “Había una, tal vez dos, en todas las muestras que revisamos”, explica Hanage.

Basados en eso, los expertos creen que la transmisión podría estar ocurriendo sin que cause síntomas.

La investigación también documentó “un gen idéntico en diferentes especies”. Y según Hanage, “el alcance de todo lo que ha sucedido es bastante sorprendente”.

“Además, encontramos dos casos de resistencia de alto nivel que no pudimos explicar”.

Hanage lo compara con la materia oscura: “Sabemos que está ahí porque podemos ver sus efectos, pero no sabemos qué es lo que realmente hace que se produzca”.

“Si tuviera que criticar mi propio trabajo diría que es una lástima que no hayamos podido abarcar más hospitales y conseguir más muestras dentro de los sistemas de salud”, afirma.

Limitados por los recursos, los investigadores no pudieron rastrear si la transmisión se dio en un centro de atención a largo plazo o en la comunidad, fuera de los hospitales que estudiaron.

Ese fue el caso de una reciente infección de CRE en un hospital de Reno, en Nevada.

La paciente, una mujer del condado de Washoe que ya tenía más de 70 años, había vivido mucho tiempo en la India.

Regresó a Estados Unidos a principios de agosto pasado.

Al volver, la mujer sufrió un síndrome de respuesta inflamatoria sistémica, una reacción de su sistema inmunológico a una infección, y fue ingresada en el hospital de Reno. Dos meses antes de regresar había sido hospitalizada en India, en una de las muchas hospitalizaciones que sufrió por las complicaciones de una fractura de fémur.

Después del ébola, el sarampión y el Zika, muchos hospitales en Estados Unidos comenzaron a pedir las historias clínicas de otros centros durante la admisión de los pacientes.

Por tal motivo, se recomienda a los conductores y peatones tomar vías alternas en sus recorridos cercanos a dichos sectores.

La Comapa de Reynosa desarrolla labores diversas para acelerar la reparación de los colectores de drenaje para satisfacer las demandas de la ciudadanía.

Por estas acciones la Dirección de Tránsito y Vialidad y la Coordinación de Protección Civil y Bomberos exhortan a la población para mantenerse alertas cerca de las zonas de trabajo, con la finalidad de evitar accidentes y que las obras continúen sin interrupciones.

Se pide a la ciudadanía respetar y mantenerse alejados de las zonas acordonadas en donde se esta trabajando, con la finalidad de evitar accidentes o cualquier incidente que ponga en riesgo la vida de las personas.

Sobre todo de camiones de carga, transporte público o vehículos de gran peso.

Hay que recordar que estas obras de rehabilitación requieren de gran espacio debido al manejo de maquinaria pesada.

Flying Flies and Flashes

W

hat are flying flies?

Flying flies look like small spots, dots, circles, lines or spider webs in the field of vision. While they appear to be in front of the eye, they are actually floating inside. Flying flies are a conglomerate of the gelatinous substance or cells inside the vitreous that fills the eye.

You can notice more easily when you look at something flat, like a smooth wall or the sky.

As we age, our vitreous begins to thicken or shrink. In some cases, conglomerates or lines are formed in the vitreous. If the vitreous is detached from the back of the eye, it is called posterior vitreous detachment. Flying flies usually appear after a posterior vitreous detachment. It is not something serious and usually diminishes or disappear gradually. In very few cases is a treatment or surgery necessary.

It is more likely to have flying flies, if: • need glasses to see from afar (it’s myopic) • underwent cataract surgery • suffers from inflammation inside the eye

WHAT ARE FLASHES?

Flashes may look like twinkling lights or flashes of light in the field of view. You can see flashes intermittently for weeks or even months. The flashes occur when the vitreous has friction or detaches from the retina.

As people age, it is common to see flashes occasionally.

FLASHES AND MIGRAINES

In some cases, people may have flashes of light that look like jagged lines or heat

waves. They can appear in one or both eyes and last up to 20 minutes. This type of flashes may be caused by a migraine.

A migraine is a spasm of the blood vessels of the brain.

When you have a headache after these flashes, it is called migraine. But sometimes you can see the flash of light without having a headache. This is called “migraine ophthalmic” or “migraine without headache.”

When can flying flies and flashes become serious?

Most flying flies and flashes are not a problem. However, sometimes they can be a sign of a serious problem. You should call your ophthalmologist immediately, in the following cases: • Note that there are many new flying flies. It has a lot of sparkles • A shadow appears in peripheral vision (lateral) • A gray curtain covers part of the vision These flying flies and these flashes can be symptoms of a tear or retinal detachment. Retinal detachment is when the retina separates from the back of the eye. It is a serious problem that must be addressed.

Moscas Volantes y Destellos

Qué son las moscas volantes?

Las moscas volantes se ven como manchas pequeñas, puntos, círculos, líneas o telarañas en el campo de visión. Si bien parecen estar enfrente del ojo, en realidad están flotando en su interior. Las moscas volantes son un conglomerado de la sustancia gelatinosa o células en el interior del vítreo que llena el ojo.

Se pueden notar con mayor facilidad cuando mira algo plano, como una pared lisa o el cielo.

A medida que envejecemos, nuestro vítreo comienza a espesarse o encogerse. En algunos casos, se forman conglomerados o líneas en el vítreo. Si el vítreo se desprende de la parte posterior del ojo, se denomina desprendimiento vítreo posterior. Las moscas volantes suelen aparecer después de un desprendimiento vítreo posterior. No es algo grave y suelen disminuir o desaparecer gradualmente. En muy pocos casos es necesario un tratamiento o una cirugía.

Es más probable que tenga moscas volantes, si: • necesita anteojos para ver de lejos (es miope) • se sometió a una cirugía de cataratas • padece de inflamación en el interior del ojo ¿QUÉ SON LOS DESTELLOS?

Los destellos pueden parecer como luces parpadeantes o relámpagos de luz en el campo de visión. Puede ver destellos intermitentemente durante semanas e incluso meses. Los destellos se producen cuando el vítreo tiene fricción o se desprende de la retina.

A medida que las personas envejecen, es común ver destellos ocasionalmente.

Destellos y migrañas En algunos casos, las personas pueden tener destellos de luz que

se ven como líneas dentadas u ondas de calor. Pueden aparecerle en uno o ambos ojos y durar hasta 20 minutos. Este tipo de destello puede ser causado por una migraña. Una migraña es un espasmo en los vasos sanguíneos del cerebro.

Cuando tiene dolor de cabeza después de estos destellos, se denomina migraña. Pero en ocasiones sólo ve el destello de luz sin tener el dolor de cabeza. Esto se denomina “migraña oftálmica” o “migraña sin dolor de cabeza”. ¿Cuando las moscas volantes y los destellos pueden ser graves?

La mayoría de las moscas volantes y los destellos no son un problema. Sin embargo, a veces pueden ser indicio de un problema grave. Debe llamar a su oftalmólogo de inmediato, en los siguientes casos: • Nota que hay muchas moscas volantes nuevas Tiene muchos destellos.

• Aparece una sombra en la visión periférica (lateral).

• Una cortina gris cubre parte de la visión.

Estas moscas volantes y los destellos pueden ser síntomas de un desgarro o desprendimiento de retina. El desprendimiento de retina es cuando la retina se separa de la parte posterior del ojo. Es un problema grave que debe tratarse.

Si de repente presenta muchas moscas volantes y ve destellos, y nota cambios en la visión, acuda al oftalmólogo de inmediato.

hat is esophageal stenosis? It is the narrowing of the esophagus’ diameter that results in difficult transport of food toward the stomach.

What are the causes of esophageal stenosis? All factors causing inflammation of an area in the surface of the esophagus as a result of gastroesophageal reflux, the presence of a tumor, prolonged use of a nasogastric tube, the intake of chemical substances such as caustic agents, and previous surgeries.

What are the symptoms of an esophageal stenosis? The main symptom is dysphagia, or the difficulty to swallow food, pain at the moment of swallowing, and regurgitation or return of gastric content toward the mouth.

There is also weight loss and progressive dehydration as food has a difficult time reaching the stomach.

How is it diagnosed? A medi-

cal history is necessary to evaluate the symptoms. An x ray test called esophagogram, where the patient is given to drink a radio-opaque fluid, is used to identify the site and characteristics of the stenosis.

What is the treatment? The most effective treatment is achieved by means of an upper endoscopy. Once identified the stenosis, it is possible to perform a variety of techniques such as dilations with hydropneumatic balloons, dilations with dilators, or radial cuts with electrocautery. This procedures are performed without the need for open surgery.

The majority of these treatments can be performed in an outpatient clinic, without the need for hospitalization.

Qué es la estenosis esofágica? Es el estrechamiento en el diámetro del esófago el que ocasiona un transporte difícil de alimento hacia el estómago. ¿Cuáles son las causas de la estenosis esofágica? Todos los factores que causan la inflamación de un área en la superficie del esófago como resultado del reflujo gastroesofágico, la presencia de un tumor, el uso prolongado de una sonda nasogástrica, la ingesta de sustancias químicas como agentes cáusticos y cirugías previas. ¿Cuáles son los síntomas de una estenosis esofágica? El síntoma principal es la disfagia, la dificultad para tragar los alimentos, el dolor en el momento de la deglución y la regurgitación o el retorno del contenido gástrico hacia la boca. También hay pérdida de peso y deshidratación progresiva ya que a los alimentos les cuesta alcanzar el estómago.

¿Cómo se diagnostica? Se necesita un historial médico para evaluar los síntomas. Se usa una prueba de rayos X llamada esofagograma, en la que el paciente recibe un líquido radiopaco para identificar el sitio y las características de la estenosis. ¿Cuál es el tratamiento? El tratamiento más efectivo se logra mediante una endoscopia superior. Una vez identificada la estenosis, es posible realizar una variedad de técnicas tales como dilataciones con globos hidroneumáticos, dilataciones con dilatadores o cortes radiales con electrocauterización. Este procedimiento se realiza sin la necesidad de cirugía abierta.

La mayoría de estos tratamientos se pueden realizar de una forma ambulatoria, sin necesidad de hospitalización.

Si el caso de estenosis es un tumor, es posible usar plasma de argón por endoscopia para reducir el tamaño del tumor y restablecer el paso de alimentos.

With the accomplishment of diverse works we are fighting the backwardness in our infrastructure and creating the city of the future, making history.

By Editorial The municipal government continues with actions that are part of the Largest Program of Works in the History of Reynosa.

Continúa el gobierno municipal con acciones que forman parte del programa de obras más grande en la historia de Reynosa.

De esta manera es que han invertido mil 500 millones de pesos, superando a los 200 millones de administraciones pasadas.

Son más de 383 acciones en las que se han pavimentado 130 calles y se han rehabilitado 63 escuelas.

También se han rehabilitado sectores con drenaje pluvial, alumbrado, agua potable, cárcamos, entre otros, solamente en un año.

En la colonia Delicias, se pavimentaron con concreto hidráulico doce cuadras de la calle Torreón, se instalaron luminarias, además, se construyeron banquetas y cordones.

La obra tuvo una inversion de 7 millones de pesos y beneficia aproximadamente a mil 200 personas.

En dicha colonia también se realizó la barda perimetral de la Primaria Ricardo Flores Magón, a la que asisten 600 alumnos y la cual tuvo un costo de 600 mil pesos.

En el Fraccionamiento Reynosa, la calle 20 de noviembre fue pavimentada con una inversión de 16 millones 895 mil 239. 60 pesos.

Mientras que en la Unidad Obrera la calle Guanajuato fue pavimentada con una inversion de 3 millones 311 mil pesos.

Con una inversion de 3 millones 898 mil 865. 92 fue pavimentada la calle José María Pino Suárez, de la colonia 20 de Noviembre.

También en la colonia Independencia, se invirtieron cinco millones de pesos en la calle 25 de Diciembre, lo que llevó un gran beneficio a 600 personas.

La calle Revolución fue transformada con 2 millones 798 mil 276.48 pesos, por lo que vecinos de la colonia Francisco Villa, vieron el cambio en dicho sector.

La calle Espuela del Ferrocarril, en la colonia Pedro J. Méndez, es una obra realizada en conjunto con el Gobierno del Estado, como parte del Programa Dos a Uno. Esto comunica al bulevar Álvaro Obregón con el bulevar Luis Donaldo Colosio y su pavimentación con concreto hidráulico tuvo un costo aproximado de 18 millones de pesos, beneficiando a toda la ciudad.

El Bulevar Morelos es una importante arteria que conecta diferentes sectores y colonias de la ciudad, por tal motivo, se realizaron diversas acciones para mejorarlo.

Esta obra, que beneficia a todos los reynosenses, tuvo una inversión de 15 millones de pesos.

En dicho bulevar se realizó también la reparación del colector de ese sector para evitar aguas negras, con una mega inversión de 21 millones de pesos.

La finalidad de estos trabajos, es la realización de acciones para el bienestar de la salud pública de los ciudadanos en Reynosa.

Sin embargo, a pesar de las acciones de las autoridades y dependencias involucradas, para lograr un correcto funcionamiento y evitar problemas posteriores, se pide la colaboración de la ciudadanía evitando arrojar deshechos al interior del sistema de drenaje.

In this town there is a very particular space where tourists come to have fun with their friends, listen to melodies and refresh themselves with a few drinks.

By José Manuel Meza Nuevo Progreso, Tam. There are canteens and then there are canteens, but in the open air and in a garden? yes. It’s Rose Garden, a public establishment on the Mexican border of Tamaulipas Located on Juarez Street, a few blocks from the international bridge of Nuevo Progreso, Mexico, this place has become a tradition for foreign visitors who visit it, mainly for winter texans.

Rose Garden is practically an ornate parking lot with plants, on whose brick walls ivy grows and the smell of trees and flowers is breathed.

So simple is that the tables and chairs are made of conventional plastic, but here you can listen to very good music, with organists and mariachi groups that play for the visitors while they are having a drink and talking.

Jesús Montenegro is a musician originally from Matamoros, Tamaulipas, but a resi-

dent of Nuevo Progreso for 12 years. He is in charge of proving the entertainment by playing music and singing.

“This is a small space, but very picturesque that year after year in the season of the gringos is always very busy because they spend it in peace and are treated as it should be,” he said.

He said that the clientele can find here the margaritas, the clamatos and all kinds of national and international drinks without missing the cold beer that is offered.

Rose Garden es prácticamente un estacionamiento ornamentado con plantas, en cuyas paredes de ladrillo crece la hiedra y se respira el olor de los árboles y las flores.

Tan simple es que las mesas y las sillas son de plástico convencional, pero aquí puede escucharse muy buena música, con organistas y grupos de mariachi que tocan a los visitantes mientras éstos toman una bebida y conversan.

“Cerveza fría y margaritas”, es el letrero que acompaña al nombre del lugar.

UN TIEMPO DE RELAX

Jesús Montenegro es un músico originario de Matamoros, Tamaulipas, pero residente de Nuevo Progreso desde hace 12 años.

Es el encargado de amenizar el ambiente tocando y cantando.

“Este es un espacio chiquito, pero muy pintoresco que año tras año en la temporada de los gringos siempre es muy concurrido, porque se la pasan en paz y se les atiende como debe de ser”, expresó.

“Bien barato que es. La cerveza a un dólar con 25 centavos, algo así como 20 pesos, sin faltar por supuesto la buena música”, agregó.

De hecho la fama de este lugar ha corrido porque no tiene mucha publicidad.

“De pasadita los americanos siempre vienen. Les llama la atención porque tocamos toca clase de música, poquita de toda, pero bien ejecutada. Yo les canto en inglés y español. A veces bailan y ellos se van bien contentos y alegres”, dijo.

Montenegro hizo una cordial invitación a los turistas de Nuevo Progreso para conocer el Rose Garden, pues aunque ya se terminó la temporada ‘winter’, mencionó que sigue yendo mucha gente.

“Esa es la idea, que nuestros clientes se la pasen bien. Aquí tenemos un área de espera con asientos de masajes. Mientras les hacemos el pedicure ellos se relajan de su espalda y cuello.

“Además las tinas tienen agua tibia con burbujas para descansar los pies. También contamos con un espacio para el masaje corporal y todo está limpio”, destacó.

En lo personal sí recomendaría a la gente del Valle y a los americanos que vengan a atenderse.

Además los precios son muy accesibles. Yo vengo desde Estados Unidos y me siento muy cómoda aquí.

Thanks to his work this 35-year-old man has provided for his family, since one of his four children, born to an American mother in Greenville, Michigan, decided to come and live with him.

Both have already become familiar faces of Nuevo Progreso, a small town located on the Mexican border of Tamaulipas, which borders Progreso, Texas, and where every year thousands of tourists from the United States and Canada arrived to address aspects of their health as their denture.

Arnie and his child, Alejandro Martínez Fabro, have earned a place in this town. At the same time that the father works, the 11-year-old boy studies, but in his spare time, he is a tourist guide.

He has even polish shoes or sold candy without any shame.

And if that were not enough, he has become a youtuber recording videos that appear on the web, in which you can find him as Alejandro Martínez.

Some traders in Nuevo Progreso said that at first they were struck by the sight of a green-eyed American boy earning a livelihood as they do.

This has moved many Anglo-Saxons, who see how one of them struggles to get ahead in a foreign country.

Normally Alejandro goes to class every day but returns every afternoon to Nuevo Progreso, where he has his home and lives happily with Arnie.

WINNING MINDS

Both father and son maintain a spirit of self-improvement and encourage others not to fall into adversity.

“When I arrived here, I did not have anyone. I didn’t know what to do, because all my life I had spend it in the United States. I tried to return twice, but I could not and I decided to start again in Mexico,” he said.

While Arnie was still a child, his mother try twice to fix his immigration papers, but even though she spent all her savings, she could not give him a legal certainty. In any case, he thanked the effort and dedication of his mother.

Later, in his new stage in the Mexican border, this man has had to adapt to the circumstances and has put his best effort.

“It’s another type of life here, not what you’re used to there, because it’s a lot of difference, but you teach yourself not to spend on things you do not need,” he said smiling.

Arnie recognizes that it is a very human story that he has lived in the company of his child, as happens to many, when sometimes things do not always look good, but it is up to everyone to get up.

“I put a lot of desire and effort to enter the work environment of the clinic. I did not have experience with patients, because I used to work in construction, and I began to notice that I had a great facility to communicate with them and that has helped me a lot to know what the problems are, help them to control and present the best prices,” he said.

Arnie is practically a link between doctors and patients. He also works as a translator to be able to transmit better the indications of the specialists.

AN AMERICAN BOY IN MEXICO

For his part, little Alejandro, instead of spending his spare time with video games, prefers to earn a few dollars in the tourist area of Nuevo Progreso. Although his father gives him everything necessary and does not lack anything, the child is proactive and restless.

“He went to the center, looked at the other kids who were there earning money and said,

why not me? and my son is very proactive.

He helps the Americans carrying their bags, to those who can not; to direct the traffic and even began to shine shoes.

“I think he’s going to be a big businessman, he’s not shy, he’s good, he wants to go out to work and earn his money, he doesn’t have a problem that he can’t solve. The Americans see it and that give them more confidence,” Arnie said.

In fact, tourists talk to him. Many who come from Michigan are excited to talk that they have been in the same places. And he looks very happy.

Although he does not speaks very good Spanish, he does understand it. In English, he commented that he likes to be in Mexico, for his culture and people.

He also expressed that he has felt very well the time he has been here. He knows that it is a process that takes some years before Arnie, his father, can return to the United States.

For now, Alejandro studies on the Texas side, Where he goes on a school bus. He said he will stay here for a while and another with his mother in the north of the country, but said he does not want to be separated from his father and will be in Nuevo Progreso as many times as necessary.

In Mexico, he has already made many friends and they love him very much. His father said that his son Alejandro likes creative things and records videos singing or telling people how to prepare a banana ‘split’ and have done others where it is transported from one place to another.

“Also, apart from being creative with my winter texans I like sports, I like to work and meet new people,” said the boy.

For his part, Arnie took the opportunity to send greetings to all his friends in Grand Rapids, Michigan, where he lived and invited them to come to Nuevo Progreso.

“I’m going to take you to the dental clinic for a review and then to have fun for a while,” he said excitedly.

The truth is that Nuevo Progreso is good to have people like Arnie and Alejandro, who contribute to the development of the society of this tourist town.

Es el caso de Arnie Martínez, un trabajador del sector médico que desde hace cuatro años se ha convertido, a decir de sus compañeros, de gran ayuda para la clínica dental que representa.

Además de ser traductor, con su gran vocación de servicio se encarga de canalizar a los pacientes con los doctores, agendarles citas y elaborarles un detallado historial que les permita a los especialistas atenderles mejor.

Gracias a su trabajo es que este hombre de 35 años saca adelante a su familia, ya que uno de sus cuatro hijos, nacidos de una madre americana en Greenville, Michigan, decidió venir a vivir con él.

Ambos se han convertido ya en caras conocidas de Nuevo Progreso, un pequeño poblado ubicado en la frontera mexicana de Tamaulipas, que colinda con Progreso, Texas, y a donde cada año miles de turistas de Estados Unidos y Canadá llegan para atenderse aspectos de su salud como la dentadura.

Arnie y su niño, Alejandro Martínez Fabro, se han ganado un lugar en este pueblo. Al mismo tiempo que el padre trabaja, el chico de 11 años estudia, pero en sus ratos libres es guía de turistas.

Ha incluso boleado zapatos o vendido golosinas sin que le dé ninguna pena. Y por si eso fuera poco se hace de un hueco como youtuber grabando videos que aparecen en la web, en la que se le puede encontrar como Alejandro Martínez.

Algunos comerciantes de Nuevo Progreso dijeron que en un principio les llamó la atención ver a un niño americano de ojos verdes ganándose el sustento como lo hacen ellos.

Por iniciativa propia, el pequeño obtiene sus propios dólares y aprovecha la temporada vacacional, antes de volver a la escuela. Esto ha conmovido a muchos anglosajones, que ven cómo uno de ellos lucha por salir adelante en un país del extranjero.

Normalmente Alejandro acude de día a clases, pero regresa todas las tardes a Nuevo Progreso, donde tiene su casa y vive feliz con Arnie.

MENTES GANADORAS

Tanto padre como hijo mantienen un espíritu de superación y animan a los demás a no dejarse caer por las adversidades.

“Cuando llegué aquí, no tenía a nadie. No me hallaba, porque toda mi vida la había pasado en Estados Unidos. Traté de volver en dos ocasiones, pero no pude y decidí comenzar de nuevo en México”, relató.

Siendo Arnie aún un niño su madre realizó en dos ocasiones el trámite para poder arreglar sus papeles migratorios, pero a pesar de que gastó todos sus ahorros, no pudo darle una certeza jurídica. De todas maneras agradeció el esfuerzo y dedicación de su progenitora.

Posteriormente, en su nueva etapa en la frontera mexicana, este hombre ha tenido que adaptarse a las circunstancias y ha puesto su mejor esfuerzo.

“Es otro tipo de vida aquí, no a lo que está acostumbrado uno allá, porque es mucha la diferencia, pero te enseñas a no gastar en cosas que no necesitas”, comentó sonriente.

Arnie reconoce que es una historia muy humana la que ha vivido en compañía de su niño, tal y como les pasa a muchos, cuando a veces las cosas no siempre pintan bien, pero depende de cada quien levantarse.

“Yo he mirado a muchos que estamos en la misma situación, pero quiero animarlos a no darse por vencidos. Se puede salir adelante otra vez en cualquier parte del mundo y acostumbrarte a la cultura.

“Le puse muchas ganas y empeño para incursionar en el ambiente laboral de la clínica. No contaba con experiencia con pacientes, pues antes me dedicaba a la construcción, y comencé a notar que tenía una gran facilidad para poder comunicarme con ellos y eso me ha servido mucho para saber cuáles son los problemas que traen, ayudarles a llevar un con-

trol y presentarles los mejores precios”, describió.

Arnie prácticamente es un enlace entre los médicos y los pacientes. También trabaja como traductor para poder transmitir mejor las indicaciones de los especialistas.

UN CHICO AMERICANO EN MÉXICO

Por su parte, el pequeño Alejandro, en vez de pasar sus ratos libres con videojuegos, prefiere ganarse unos dólares en la zona turística de Nuevo Progreso. Aunque su padre le da todo lo necesario y no carece de ningún bien, el niño es proactivo e inquieto.

“Fue al centro, miró a los otros chicos que ahí andaban

ganándose un dinero y dijo, ¿por qué yo no? y es muy emprendedor mi hijo. Le ayuda a los americanos a llevar las bolsas, a los que no pueden; a dirigir el tráfico y hasta se puso a bolear zapatos.

“Creo que va a ser un empresario de grande, no es tímido, es lo bueno, que quiere salir a trabajar y ganarse su dinero, no se le cierra el mundo. Lo ven los americanos y les da más confianza”, expresó Arnie.

De hecho los turistas se ponen a platicar con él. Muchos que vienen de Michigan se emocionan de platicar que han estado en los mismos lugares. Y aquí se le mira contento.

Aunque no domina el español, sí lo entiende. En inglés comentó que le gusta mucho estar en México, por su cultura y gente.

También expresó que se ha sentido muy bien el tiempo que ha estado aquí. Sabe que es un proceso que tarde algunos años antes que Arnie, su padre, pueda volver a la Unión Americana.

Por lo pronto Alejandro estudia en el lado texano, hasta donde va en un transporte escolar. Afirmó que permanecerá aquí un tiempo y otro con su madre en el norte del país, pero comentó que no se quiere separar de su papá y estará en Nuevo Progreso cuantas veces sean necesarias.

En México ya hizo muchos amigos y lo quieren mucho.

Su padre dijo que a su hijo Alejandro le gustan las cosas creativas y graba videos cantando o diciéndole a la gente como prepararse una banana ‘split’ y ha hecho otros donde se transporta de un lado para otro.

“También, aparte de ser creativo con mis viejos me gusta el deporte, me gusta trabajar y conocer gente nueva”, mencionó el niño.

Por su parte, Arnie aprovechó la ocasión para enviarles saludos a todos sus amigos en Gran Rapids, Michigan, donde vivía y los invitó a venir a Nuevo Progreso.

“Los voy a llevar a la clínica dental para que les hagan una revisión y ya después a divertirnos un rato”, dijo emocionado.

Lo cierto es que a Nuevo Progreso le hace bien tener personas como Arnie y Alejandro, que contribuyen a que la sociedad de este pueblo turístico se siga desarrollando.
