Annual Report for Fiscal Year 2010 10/1/09 - 9/30/10 Dear Friends, Fiscal year 2010 held many wonderful moments. Five years in the making, the fundraising for the $5 million Building Hope Capital Campaign for the Independence Campus was completed this year! We held a ground breaking ceremony in April 2010 and expect all construction and renovations to be completed in early 2011. Although the economy during those five years was the worst in many years, our community came together to help us with this achievement, for which we are grateful. We plan to gather at the beautiful, newly-renovated campus to celebrate our grand opening in spring of 2011. In fiscal year 2010 we served 641 women and 266 children in shelter. We offered therapy to 302 women and 43 children. We also provided outreach services to over 10,000 clients. Our shelter numbers are down from previous years due to the closing of the shelter during the Independence shelter renovations. Once the shelter reopened we have been serving over capacity to address the increasing need. We were extremely excited to have had a successful year. We were able to continue to provide life saving services to those who sought assistance with us. In a year where many domestic violence programs in our country were forced to reduce services - or worse close their doors, we are fortunate to be able to continue to provide quality programming to those who need our services. Without your continued support and generosity, we couldn’t do what we do for the victims of domestic violence. For that, we remain immensely grateful.
