AN INDIE, FUNK ROCK BAND FROM ESSEX, UK

MIDNIGHT REPOST.

MIDNIGHT

Midnight Repost is an alternative indie band based in Essex, UK. Originally a solo project started by film composer and frontman Liam in 2020, the band was expanded into a four-man group in late 2022. The bands sound blends traditional indie-pop with an exciting nu-funk style. Midnight Repost are expected to begin touring in 2023 after releasing their debut EP.

The bands colour palette will consist of prodominately black and white imagery, with the occasional use of secondary support colours of burgandy and violet. Black and white will be used on their logo, and will be adapted depending on what asset the logo is being used on depending on the background colour. Purple and Burgandy will be used for additional promotional materials including; performance posters, studio albums, drumskin, stage attire, and stage lighting in hopes to create a signature colour that can be recognised closely with the brand.

LOGO

The bands logo will be in the typeface of OWNERS WIDE ITALIC. The tyeface has a family of 6 line weights as well as wide and narrow alternatives so can be used for additional promotional materials.

The logo itself is simple but effective, using elongated lines of the T’s to frame and add interest to the overall presentation. It takes inspiration from a 70s aesthetic, representing the inspirations within their music.

The colour ways of red and purple will be used on promotional materials and stage accessories with studio albums and official promotions always being either black or white depending on imagery and background colours.

LOGO

Band merch will feature black and white photography on the back and simple embroidered logo on the front at the top, on oversized black and white tshirts. This coincides with current trends in fashion, whilst staying true to the bands personal aesthetics. Eventually as the band grows, we will expand the merch into other products for example caps and bags.

On stage accessories will feature a striking drumskin with the logo in a black, white and red colour way. The colours link with the bands outlines palette, but also connects iconic rock branding of power, sex appeal and Rock n Roll.

LOGO IN USE

Although the band have already released a number of singles with cover designs, with their rebranding strategy, the release of a studio album will see the presentation of black and white imagery, taking inspiration from classic rock covers. Similarly to the band Oasis, we love the idea of using the bands logo on every album cover.

CONCEPTS

Stage Attire will contribute towards the brands visual identity, creating an image that their audience will eventually connect with the bands music. The band will wear different coloured suits when performing either live or in music videos, accessorising with jewellery and different shirts to create personas of each individual band member and be an image for people to inspire to recreate.

PHOTOGRAPHY

The band photography and music videos will take inspiration from iconic rock imagery with the use of backlighting, coloured films and a single spotlight. This will create a cinematic and dramatic aesthetic to further enhance the music, which accompanied with the bands attire, will form an iconic visual identity.

Live gigs present the opportunity for more experimental lighting introducing the secondary palette we have set in place. It also allows the band to delve more into their personal aesthetic whilst keeping the bands core values of music, audience connection and

The aim with social platforms is to present an engaging, friendly and trendy image across website, instagram and youtube platforms. We will do this with regular updates, behind the scene videos and personal story videos to keep high interaction and present a professional front.
