HW THE EDIT SMOOTH OPERATORS Bang & Olufsen has just launched a new luxurious finish for two of its prestige products, the BeoVision Eclipse TV and BeoLab 50 speakers. Both are now available in an aluminium Brass Tone and Smoked Oak finish, giving them an eye-catching element of artisanship and luxury. The BeoVision Eclipse model now offers aluminium brass-tone edges and motorised floor stand for a TV that’s elegant from all angles. The panel has been given a Smoked Oak finish for a decadent edge that exudes the luxuriousness of its design. The TV combines Bang & Olufsen’s acoustic capabilities with LG Electronics’ leading OLED TV technology, including the brand’s webOS Smart TV platform and 4K video processing capabilities. The TV’s integrated, 450 watt 3-channel SoundCentre offers stereo performance and centre channel control. The BeoLab 50 speakers have also received the same opulent upgrade with anodised brass-tone detailing and smoked oak lamellas to create a similar statement of luxury design. A high-end active loudspeaker, it blends radical audio technology, elegant aesthetics and meticulous craftsmanship, and is tailored for all the ways to enjoy sound in the home, such as sweet spot listening, unforgettable house parties and cinematic experiences. RECLINE & RELAX Twenty five years ago Boris Arcidiacono began importing recliners from one of the most famous comfort furniture brands, Norway’s Stressless. Now for the first time, they will be displaying every model that the company makes in their showroom. ‘With such broad styles of interior decoration and trends today, it is important to be able to offer more or less customised solutions to a client; creating a chair which not only fits them perfectly, but also their homes too,’ says Gabriella Arcidiacono. Almost 40 new models, with a variety of bases and including those for offices, are available. Also new is a full range of Stressless home cinema sofas.

Two major brands have expanded over the past two months, opening new shops and showrooms. British firm Matalan has capitalised on the success of its first two stores in Malta, in Sliema and Figura, by opening two new ones, this time in Republic Street, Valletta, and in Smart Shopping Complex, B’Kara. Both will stock a vast selection of homewares. 024

KITCHEN COMPETITION

Proman Interiors have entered the Global Kitchen Design Competition run by German kitchen manufacturer Leicht. Each year it invites architects and designers from around the world to submit kitchen projects that are either finished projects or in draft form. A short-list is drawn up and these are voted on by all participants pictured is last year’s winner from Austria; 23 countries took part. Proman is the only Maltese company participating. ‘We entered because presenting our designs to a global audience can only be advantageous to Malta, Proman Interiors and our clients,’ says the company’s Chris Conlon. ‘It also gives architects and designers a platform to compete globally with others who are at the top.’ What do they think makes their entry special? ‘Uniqueness,’ says Chris. ‘The kitchen is the heart of every home and with each project there is a different style. We would like to enter from the ultra-modern to the character houses to show what a variation we have here in Malta.’

Ferraracasa, which already has a store in Mriehel that focuses on household items, has newly opened a showroom on Triq Dun Karm in Birkirkara. This space will offer fitted kitchens, bedrooms, dining rooms as well as sofas, bathrooms and office space.
