Upon seeing the man cry, the little boy joined the old gentleman in his garden, climbed onto his lap and just sat there.

When his mother asked him what he had said to the neighbor, the little boy said, “Nothing. I just helped him cry.”

Compassion, according to Wikipedia, “motivates people to go out of their way to relieve the physical, mental or emotional pains of others and themselves.” Compassionate acts are generally considered those which recognize the suffering of others and attempt to alleviate that suffering as if it were their own.

Compassion is at the heart of every little thing we do. It is the dearest quality we possess.

Yet all too often it can be cast aside with consequences too tragic to speak of. To lose our compassion, we lose what it is to be human.

Although compassion seems to be a waning art these days, there are many ways we can show compassion to others.

One way is through kindness. Kindness should not be confused with weakness. Quite the opposite, kindness demonstrates a basic decency and respect that reflects a willingness to get along even when you disagree. You’ve all heard the old saying that nice guys finish last.

Not true. Nice people can and often do finish first.

No one wants to work with or do business with someone that treats them rudely or disrespectfully. The smallest act of kindness can have a significant impact on a person’s life.

Funny thing about kindness: The more it’s used, the more you have.

We can also show compassion simply by listening carefully and without judgment.

Listening goes both ways. If you want people to listen to you, you need to listen to them.

Listening can be hard work, and some people are more challenging to listen to than others.

But when you find yourself tuning out what someone is saying you should ask yourself why.

Are you tuning them out because what they’re saying is irrelevant or boring? Or are you tuning them out because you don’t want to hear what they’re saying?

Encouraging other people is another form of compassion. Offering compliments based on a person’s character or actions inspires them to perform in such a manner that it invites additional praise. People tend to live up to the recognition they receive. Encouragement is oxygen to the soul. It gives people a natural high.

Forgiveness is another key to compassion.

Forgiving someone ultimately makes you stronger. A nationwide Gallup poll that found 94 percent of those surveyed said it was important to forgive. Yet in the same survey, only 48 percent said they usually tried to forgive others.

I don't think a single person can escape life without experiencing hurt by another person.

That’s as true in business as every other phase of life. Everyone, and I mean everyone, messes up, hurts others, finds fault, misjudges and acts emotionally and improperly from time to time at the expense of others. It is far better to forgive and forget than to resent and remember.

Showing respect is another way to show compassion. I like to say be respectful or be regretful. Involve people. Ask for their opinions on matters. And listen.

Expressing gratitude and appreciation is

compassion. Saying thank you – and meaning it – is never a bad idea. It appeals to a basic human need to be appreciated. It sets the stage for the next pleasant encounter. And it helps keep in perspective the importance of receiving and giving help. An attitude of gratitude should have wide latitude.

Being patient is another form of compassion. The world today is testing everyone’s patience. And we have never needed it more. Patience is an invaluable virtue, but it takes some work. We live in a world where we are used to getting things quickly, including information or products. This impatient attitude can cause a lot of harm – unproductive time, stress, poor decisions and more.

Research shows that when we feel compassion, our heart rate slows and we secrete the bonding hormone oxytocin, which results in people wanting to care for other people.

Maybe that’s why compassionate people live longer. Who doesn’t want that?

“The Good Old Days” -By Tom Kuehne Early Farming

Farming has made some big changes over the years. Prior to WW1, farming primarily involved planting and harvesting oats and corn, along with cutting grasses for hay. As we have observed, war causes many advancements in industry and medicine. This is a short history of how WWI effected the farm.

One big change in this area was the introduction of alfalfa for hay. Prior to that time grass was fed to milking cows during the winter, which kept the cows alive, but didn't do much to improve production. Alfalfa, along with a more balanced diet, helped them give more and richer milk. Over the following years these improved rations became commonplace, with the farmers actually not remembering when the improvements began. Even today, farmers have many more concerns than to remember when alfalfa became part of the rations.

Horse power was prevalent during WWI. Alfalfa was a little too rich for horses, so their diet primarily consisted of grass hay and straw and some corn silage. As long as the horses were able to pull the heavy burdens around the farm, the farmer didn't worry too much about what he was feeding them. There were usually several horses on the farm and they ate a lot of feed, so it seemed to be economically reasonable to give them the most inexpensive feed.

At about that time steamers and gas powered equipment became more common.

Steam powered engines were popular to provide power for grain separators. Steam

power was economical, since the steamer produced power from straw. Steamers created a need of long belts to power the separator, since the stack from the steamer frequently expelled burning sparks, which are best kept as far away from the separator and straw pile as possible. The steamer required 3 men. One fed fuel into the machine, one hauled water for the boiler and one was the engineer, who supervised the operation. These men were paid about $5.00 per day.

Gas powered tractors began to appear.

They were very large and heavy. The rear wheels were made of steel and large enough for a man to stand inside of the wheels. The front wheels could be turned with chains that changed the direction of the wheels.

The direction changes were done by a driver turning a steering wheel on the platform above the machine. Turning the steering wheel usually required a strong man.

In some cases, power was produced by a 14 horsepower, one cylinder engine. It was also very large and heavy. It was mounted on skids, so it's movement was very limited.

The flywheel on that engine is about as high as a man and the piston was about a foot in diameter. This engine usually supplied power for corn shredders and silo filling machines.

About WWI time, commercial fertilizer became available. When it first arrived, there were no machines to spread it on the land, so the farmer spread it on the field by hand. Since this procedure took a fair amount of time, there was usually a rain that washed the fertilizer off the land before it was worked into the soil.

Audrey L. Douvier

Audrey L. Douvier, age 86 of Sauk Centre, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on Saturday, July 23, 2022 at the CentraCare Care Center in Sauk Centre, Minnesota, after a quick and courageous battle with cancer. She is now reunited with her loving husband, Harold, mother, father, stepfather, brother, and many family and friends who went before her.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial was held Wednesday, July 27 at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Sauk Centre. Inurnment was in Calvary Cemetery.

Audrey was born on April 27, 1936, daughter of Everette and Gladys (Olson) Stimson. Audrey met the love of her life, Harold, in high school while working as a waitress at a drive-in restaurant, (on roller skates no less).

Audrey graduated in 1954 from Sauk Centre High School. Harold and Audrey continued to date while she attended the Minneapolis School of Business for secretarial. During this span, she studied and worked for her room and board by being a nanny, of which, she had many interesting stories. Upon finishing college in 1956 she worked as a secretary for the First National Bank in Sauk Centre.

Audrey and Harold were united in marriage September 18, 1956 at St. Mary's Church in Melrose. They had two daughters, Laurie and Cindy. When they started school, it was at this time she changed career paths and became a school cook, allowing her to be home in the afternoons and have summers off. She retired from the school in 2001. She had her share of trials and tribulations and always came out stronger for it. Her strength and determination is to be admired. “A wife, a mother, a grandma too, this is the legacy we have from you.”

Audrey's children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were the pride and joy of her life.

The legacy of Audrey's kind spirit, passion for sports, love of reading, bowling, enthusiasm for gambling, musicals and zest for life will live on through them.

Survivors include her two daughters, Laurie Borgerding (Chuck) and Cindy Berscheit (Rod); brother, Gerald Stimson (Jackie); sister, Janetta Wenzel (Freelyn), sister-in-law, Regina Pirkl; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Tara Ostendorf (Thomas) and their children, Hunter, Josie and Easton; Derek (Carrie) Borgerding and their children, Mac, Simon, Abe, Kennedy, and Maverick; Leah Blood (Drew) and their son, Willard; Meagan Allen and her daughter, Blake; Dustin (Kayla) Berscheit and their children, Kasen, Declan, Kellan and Vaida; Brittany Kane and her daughter, Natalie; Lexie Berscheit (fiancé, Nick Kupfer) and their children, Liam and baby on the way; and Trent Berscheit.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Harold Aug 30, 2013; parents; brother, Wayne Stimson; sisters and brothers-in-law, Bernette Stimpson, Tony and Evelyn Douvier, Monica and Francis Steiver, Hubert Douvier, Gilbert and Beatrice Douvier, Doraine and Donald Ritter, and Robert Pirkl Arrangements were made with PattonSchad Funeral & Cremation Services of Sauk Centre.

Louise J. Wood, age 87 of Melrose, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 24, 2022 at the CentraCare Care Center in Melrose, Minnesota.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 29 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Melrose with Rev. Arockiya Newton officiating and Deacon Ernie Kociemba assisting. Inurnment will be in the parish cemetery following the lunch in the gathering area at church.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the church.

Louise Johanna Enneking was born August 5, 1934 in Melrose, Minnesota to Henry and Rose (Thielen) Enneking. She was born 7th of nine children on the family farm near Melrose.

She attended a one room country school and later graduated from Melrose High School. She devoted 20 years of her life at St. Benedict’s Convent in St. Joseph. She married Sydney “Ken” Wood on November 2, 1972 at Cathedral of the Madeleine in Salt Lake City, Utah. The couple spent 50 years of their marriage in the state of Utah.

She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Melrose and an avid reader of scripture.

Survivors include one brother; two sisters; and three stepchildren.

Louise was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Ken Wood on April 23, 2022.

Arrangements were made with PattonSchad Funeral & Cremation Services of Melrose.

Leo J. Ettle, age 95, of Freeport, passed away on Sunday, July 24, 2022 at his home in Freeport, Minnesota.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 28 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Albany with Rev. Edward Vebelun officiating. Interment will be at the parish

cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church.

Leo Joseph Ettle was born January 15, 1927 in Freeport, Minnesota to George and Mary (Kemper) Ettle. He married Bernadine Beuning on January 23, 1951 in St. Francis, Minnesota.

He farmed locally and was a member of the St. Anthony Catholic Parish.

Survivors include his wife, Bernadine Ettle; Rita (Norm) Raymond, Ronald (Jill) Ettle, James Ettle, Thomas (Lisa) Ettle, Janice Ettle, Debra (David) Resnick, and Keith Ettle; siblings, Ann Tschida, Marcella (Sally) Koopmeiner, Delores Miller, and Arthur Ettl; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Leo is preceded in death by his son, Andrew Ettle; siblings, Evelyn Ettl, Alfred Ettl, Rose Gangl, and Elizabeth Novak.

Loren A. Mielke

Loren A. Mielke, 93 year old resident of Little Falls, MN passed away Saturday, July 23, 2022 at Highland Senior Living in Little Falls. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, July 28, 2022, at Zion Lutheran Church in Little Falls, MN with Rev. Gary Hendrickson officiating.

Burial will be in Springbrook Cemetery in Swanville, MN. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Thursday at Zion Lutheran Church.

Caring for Loren and his family is the Shelley Funeral Chapel in Little Falls, MN. Loren was born on April 7, 1929 in Burnhamville Township, Todd County to the late Ervin and Ida (Hattie) Mielke. He graduated with the class of 1947 from Swanville High School and was united in marriage to Beatta Mielke on August 1, 1951 at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Randall, MN and were married for 65 years.

The majority of that time was spent farming near Swanville where they raised three children.

Throughout his life, besides farming, he worked at both Crestliner and Larson Boats in Little Falls, was a car salesman at Dick Youngberg Chevrolet and eventually finished his career as a bus driver for the Swanville School District. Loren enjoyed spending time working outside, maintaining the family’s snowmobiles, fishing and spending time with family and friends. Loren would take Beatta fishing for sunnies in the summer and be the leader of the weekend snowmobile trips with the family during the winter. Loren and Beatta spent their retirement in Little Falls. He had an eye for detail and kept everything in its designated place. Loren will truly be missed for his family leadership, incredible sense of humor and the impact he had through his caring actions and kindness to others. Loren was a wonderful father and husband.

Loren is survived by his three children and their families, Steve and Paula Davis-Mielke of Jacksonville, FL, Vicki Pangrac and husband, Dan of Bowlus, MN, Brad Mielke and wife, Rhonda of Albany, MN; sister, Eileen Crolius of Sioux Falls, SD; grandchildren, Kristi, Adam, and Michael Pangrac, Hope Mielke and two step-grandchildren, Chris and Dan; two greatgrandchildren, Mae and Brooklyn; and two stepgreat-grandchildren, Mya and Arabella.

Loren was preceded in death by parents, Ervin and Ida (Hattie) Mielke; wife, Beatta Mielke; brother, Harley Mielke; father and mother-in-law, Ed and Ella Axel; brothers-inlaw, Edward Decker and Philip Crolius; sisterin-law, Dorothy Decker and Grandson, Aaron Mielke.

Geraldine Rose Wensmann Geraldine “Geri” Rose Wensmann, age 81 of Albany passed away on July 21 at St. Cloud Hospital.

Mass of Christian Burial was held Wednesday, July 27 at Church of Seven Dolors in Albany.

Burial was in the parish cemetery.

Geri was born on March 28, 1941, in Melrose MN to Alphonse and Rose (Thieschafer) Klaphake. She graduated from Melrose High School in 1958. She married DeWayne Joseph Schiffler on May 30, 1963, in St. Rosa. Geri and DeWayne made their home in Albany and together owned Schiffler Farm Equipment and Schiffler Bus Service. Geri did whatever was necessary to keep the businesses operating efficiently. She especially enjoyed driving bus and seeing all the children. Prior to assuming ownership of the business in 1975, Geri worked for Hockert Dentistry for 11 years.

Geri was proud of her ability to balance her roles as a mother, wife and a professional.

Community service was important to Geri.

She was very active in the Albany community including Albany Chamber member, member of the Mother of Mercy Auxiliary, Holy Family School Board and very proud to be an Albany City Council member. Her goal was to make a difference in her community.

DeWayne passed away in 2003. Their 40 years of marriage were blessed with three children. Geri married Urban Wensmann on August 26, 2006 in Albany. Together they shared 16 years of marriage, companionship and love.

Survived by her husband, Urban of Albany; children, Karen (Michael) Franke (Christopher and Elizabeth) of Maplewood, Nancy (Richard) Wehseler (Caroline, Benjamin, Eleanor) of Spicer, Greg (Jennifer) Schiffler (Tyler, Abigail) of Maplewood; step-children, Regina (Alan) Rose (Kayla, Bradley, Jade, Mikhel) of Kansas, Shelly Clubine (Sean, Chad, Cassandra) of Virginia, Joseph (Tami) Wensmann of Missouri, Alicia (Steve) Wright (Kayla, Aaron) of Kansas, Natalie (Dave) Wonnell (Sydney, Reagan, Ellison, Madelyn) of Kansas; 10 step-greatgrandchildren; siblings, Viola Borgerding, Jerome Klaphake, Julie Moening and John Klaphake.

From the Desk of Pastor Bruce I would like to thank everyone for reading the articles from me over the last several months. I have enjoyed doing them and trust they have been encouraging. I have been called to Camp Judson in Keystone, SD, as the “Carpenter, Maintenance and Facilities Director. This will be my last article; I also want to thank Lori and John for putting these articles in their paper.

In this article I will be sharing some personal stories that will encourage all the readers to step out of their comfort zone. I have been a believer in Jesus Christ since eight years old. I struggled in school, and when I graduated it was with a fourth grade reading level. I signed up to go to Bible College, hoping there could be something I could do, certainly not being a pastor but something for the kingdom. After one year, I told the Lord, if ministry is this hard you can’t possibly use me. So, I went to vo-tech in the Landscape Occupation course and worked that field for a few years. When I met my soon to be wife, I started working as janitor at a facility for mentally handicap.

After 2 years I became one of the maintenance guys (the carpenter). After 5 years, I became the facilities manager of a Bible

Watercraft Accident: July 25, 2022: At approximately 1:09 PM, the Stearns County Sheriff's Office Communications Center received multiple emergency calls reporting a watercraft accident on Sauk Lake near the address of 41053 Sauk Lake Road in Sauk Centre. The Sauk Centre Police Department, Sauk Centre Fire Department, Sauk Centre Ambulance Service, Life Link Helicopter, and the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene.

Upon arrival it was determined that an 18-foot Crestliner boat driven by Michael Dunfee, 48, Sauk Centre, struck a two-person kayak being operated by Thomas Hegdal, 59, and Susan Hegdal, 62, of Fort Collins, Colorado. Thomas sustained injuries, and Susan sustained serious injuries in the accident. Thomas and Susan initially received medical care at the Sauk Centre Hospital. Susan was transported by Life Link Helicopter and Thomas was transported

by Sauk Centre Ambulance Service to the Saint Cloud Hospital for further medical care. Dunfee and his passengers were not injured in this incident. No impairment was involved in this incident, and it remains under investigation.

Camp near McGregor, MN. God used every job I had all the way through my life to orchestrate His plan.

Then I started my construction company and was licensed in MN. Those were challenging years, but also very rewarding.

I love to see things being built. My pastor asked me to write an article for the Christmas Devotional and so I did. When he looked at it, he gave it back to me and told me to rewrite it (it looked like a busy man wrote it). In 2003 God began a work in me that I cannot explain and in 2005 He was calling me to be a preacher, me!? I asked Him to give me a Scripture so I knew it was Him calling me, as if I would pick that career. Well, He gave me Isaiah 41:9-10 “I took you from the ends of the earth, from its farthest corners I called you. I said, ‘You are my servant’; I have chosen you and have not rejected you. So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

So, I went to college, as I worked hard to hold down a ministry job and go to school full time, I pulled off one B+ and the rest A’s. In my church in Cokato, MN I put my carpentry skills to work and headed up a youth center construction project. In Winner, SD we built a new church. Then God called me to teach Bible at a Christian Boarding School. A teacher, haha, only God can call someone who graduated with a 4th grade reading level to be a teacher. I have learned that God qualifies the unqualified.

I have so many stories of how God had worked but, John and Lori might not let me write any more.

Dear Motor Medics, During a recent episode of Under The Hood you were talking about intake gaskets and the failure of them.

I have one of those cars that have had them fail twice in an eight-year period. The car is a 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix with a nonsupercharged engine. What is it that causes them to fail? I heard you address fixing them but not why they go out.

-Sandra in Madison, Wisconsin Dear Sandra, Many cars have intake gaskets fail after they have been in use for several years, but we tend to see more failures on the v6 nonsupercharged General Motors engines in our shop. Now with that said it is important to note that I have friends down south where the climate shifts are not as extreme, and they rarely see this issue. Because we see a greater failure in our cold climate, we must think that it is the cold weather that causes the intake, heads, and the block, to contract and expand at different rates due to their different metal content and this causes extreme wear on the gaskets. This constant movement eventually breaks down the gasket and allows coolant and oil to start to move beyond the block. Combine this with coolant that is not maintained regularly, and the wear can be increased even more so. The best preventative is using the best set of gaskets you can find and regular cooling system service.

checked? I have a 2004 Honda Accord Sedan and as far as I can remember I have never had the brakes replaced. They seem to be working good as far as I can tell but I don’t want them to suddenly fail. Do they do that?

Suddenly fail without warning. I am one of those drivers that change my oil regularly at the quick lube but never do any preventative maintenance. I just wait for it to break and fix it then to save money. So far, my luck has been good, not even a tune up yet in 80,000 miles knock on wood.

-Mark in Bennington, Vermont Dear Mark, Brakes are nothing to play around with and they should be inspected regularly. In your owner’s manual there is a severe service interval for checking these things and it should be followed. If you don’t know the condition of your brakes, you need to find out so you can prevent that sudden failure or at the very least an expensive repair. There is much more to the system than just pads, there are hoses and other hardware, and regular maintenance is an important part of keeping repair costs down and safety up. Now aside from the brakes… No other maintenance, not even a tune up? I have two important words that could possibly cost you a bundle in the future. Timing Belt, check it out!

Burtrum City • July 5, 2022 The Burtrum City Council meeting was called to order at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, July 5, 2022 by Mayor Ron Strassburg.

In attendance was Ron Strassburg, Mitchell Bruggenthies, Sharon Erickson, Sara Macho, Chad Landowski and Laura Horvath.

Minutes from the June 6, 2022 meeting were read and approved; a motion to approve was made by Mitchell Bruggenthies, and seconded by Sara Macho, upon vote motion was carried and minutes were accepted.

Next the finance report was read and approved; the city discussed current bills/invoices; finance report was accepted, and bills were paid, with a motion made by Sara Erickson and seconded by Chad Landowski.

Current Bills: City Clerk wages, Police Patrol, MN Power, Cans R Us, 2023 Initiative Foundation, Rahns Propane contract - a motion to pay bills made by Sara Macho, seconded by Chad Landowski.

New Business: City listened to topics regarding old Burtrum School House.

Old Business: culvert was replaced.

Some Thoughts On The Pending Recession

By Roger Lahr Runaway inflation, now in excess of 9%, has many Americans suffering. I am so sick of hearing Biden and the media telling me the president is “doing all he can”. First of all, much of the problem is self-imposed. Biden has surrounded himself with incompetent people. He was more concerned that his advisors “check certain boxes”. Political ideology, gender, ethnicity and sexual preference were more important than finding the best qualified people. Few have business experience. How did his selection of VP work out?

There are policy decisions he could make today that would have an immediate impact on the US and the world economy. Stop the war on fossil fuel and return to the Trump and administration policies that gave us energy independence. Food production is now being impacted. Can someone please explain to me how it makes more sense to go begging Saudi Arabia, or other OPEC nations (who have dirtier oil) than to expand drilling here in the US.

I want clean air and water also, but stop listening to the climate alarmists. Climate change is not our #1 problem. There are far more immediate critical issues that need to be addressed.

Stop excessive government spending.

The trillion dollar programs are largely what created inflation. Economics 101… "too many dollars chasing too few goods."

I don’t understand how our current “leaders” have been so wrong for so long. Common sense is so sorely missing. Being complicit, and fearing retaliation from the far left, is not leadership.

America is a resilient nation. We have an opportunity and an obligation to initiate change in November.

Stearns Electric CEO to Retire this Fall Stearns Electric Association’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Robin Doege has announced his plan to retire at the end of September. His last day will be Friday, September 30, 2022.

Doege started at Stearns Electric on August 11, 2018. Under his leadership, the Cooperative has celebrated many accomplishments, including: • providing continued reliable service for the Cooperative’s member-consumers and keeping employees safe through a global pandemic; • updating the Cooperative’s Bylaws and Articles of Incorporation; • selling Stearns Electric’s ownership of powerline contractor Karian Peterson; • securing Stearns Electric’s largest commercial energy load in company history, which will be the largest energy load for our wholesale power provider, Great River Energy (GRE); • managing Cooperative personnel needs, negotiating multi-year union contracts, and realigning the Cooperative’s internal structure; • managing Stearns Electric’s facility updates, including starting the discussion on a future new headquarters facility; and • achieving numerous milestones in safety, including driving 1,000,000 miles without an accident, hosting an innovative mayday safety drill for all Cooperative employees, and facilitating an emergency responder training event.

“For me, the safety and security of Stearns Electric employees, members and the general public is, and has aways been, of utmost importance,” Doege explained.

In his tenure with Stearns Electric, Doege served in leadership roles with Stearns Electric’s two subsidiaries. He was president of the Carr’s Tree Service Board of Directors and secretary of the Heartland Security Services Board of Directors.

Doege’s experience totals 22 years of working on behalf of energy consumers at electric cooperatives in Minnesota. Prior to joining Stearns Electric, he worked at Todd Wadena Electric Cooperative for eight years and Connexus Energy for 10 years.

“Having worked with Minnesota rural electric cooperatives for years, I have always viewed Stearns Electric as a premier electric cooperative,” said Doege. “I’m honored and grateful for the opportunity to have led the Stearns Electric for the last four years.”

Upon Doege’s retirement announcement, the Steans Electric Board of Directors held a special meeting and has chosen to hire an external search firm to conduct a national search for a new CEO. The search firm, along with the Stearns Electric Board, will work together to select the next CEO to lead the Cooperative.

“The search for the Cooperative’s next CEO is one of our greatest responsibilities,” said Eric Peterson, With Doege’s retirement planned for September 30, the Board anticipates a short period of time that Stearns Electric will be without a CEO. During that time, the Board has asked existing vice presidents Vicky Herkenhoff and Matt O’Shea to provide this leadership in the absence of a CEO. Herkenhoff, vice president of administration and finance, and O’Shea, vice president of engineering and operations, have been with Stearns Electric for 18 years and seven years, respectively.
