A new year
gives us an opportunity to begin again – a clean slate with 365 slots to fill in. It’s the gift time offers to reflect on the past and to plan for the future. In between these two, however, is the “here and now” – the time where we go through our daily activities and routines. We strive to live out our dreams, desires, and passions in the everydayness of our lives. We want to live lives of greatness. We want to make a difference. We just don’t have enough time, money, or energy to do great things. However, there is good news for all of us! We can all make a difference! We can contribute to big changes by doing Random Acts of Kindness…. The week of February 11th-17th is Random Acts of Kindness Week and reminds us of the value of doing acts of kindness, small and large, everyday. Smiles, opening doors for people, saying “please” and “thank you” are examples of small acts of kindness that have the potential to make a big difference. By committing to performing random acts of kindness in 2013 we can contribute to creating a safer, saner, and kinder world for all of us – people and pets.
