ABOUT THE Media district
The Hollywood Media District Business Improvement District (BID) is dedicated to helping the community be a clean, safe and friendly place to work, shop, live and do business.
For over 20 years, the non-profit Hollywood Media District has been working to keep our community clean and safe.
The BID, formed by local property owners has a 21- 25 member Board of Directors, consisting of Hollywood Media District property owners and representatives.
Today the Hollywood Media District is buzzing with excitement. It has transformed into a remarkably coveted and highly desirable business community, an enchanting neighborhood, and an unrivaled epicenter of boundless Angeleno creativity and unparalleled style. New businesses, restaurants, and residents are contributing to a colorful, eclectic crossroads of commerce, culture, creative businesses and culinary offerings.
Voting to renew the BID will mean amplified safety services, expanded street cleaning and hospitality services, and expanded marketing and advocacy outreach tailored to benefit your esteemed neighborhood.
IT’S TIME TO RENEW THE BID
THE
HOLLYWOOD MEDIA DISTRICT BID ENDS DECEMBER 31, 2024
DID YOU KNOW
Your Assessments, leveraged with others, fund District-wide services that currently average about $3,287.67 per day on cleaning, graffiti and trash removal, safety, hospitality, communications, activations, advocacy, city liaison, and many other crucial services and District oversight that would not otherwise exist. If the BID is not renewed, it will dissolve and all BID services will stop at the end of 2024. Therefore, it is important to sign and return your petition.
WHY BUSINESS IMPROVEMENT DISTRICTS (BIDS) ARE SO IMPORTANT
Due to economic realities, cities are no longer able to deliver on standards of cleanliness and security. BIDs have picked up the slack. It is proven that BIDs reduce crime, increase prop erty value and help drive retail sales in districts. Plus, BIDs provide a mechanism for property owners and merchants to work collaboratively for their mutual benefit. There are 40 BIDs in Los Angeles, over 200 more in California and thousands more nationwide.
The Hollywood Media District, BID began its work in 2000 and has successfully renewed twice. The Hollywood Media District has not only made the area safer and cleaner, but it has also attracted new investment, development,
transit options, businesses and residents. It has encouraged improvements to existing properties and secured several streetscape improvements, while making the area more clean, safe, attractive, pedestrian and transit friendly. It has generated positive publicity about the district, held successful events and created a unified voice for property owners.
YOU MAY THINK BUT, IT’S REALLY THE BID! IT’S THE CITY
