roadcast Music, Inc. (BMI) hosted “BMI Conversations,” an in-depth, intimate discussion with GRAMMY-winning producer turned music supervisor, Rodney Jerkins. Held at the GRAMMY Museum in Los Angeles, the conversation delved into Rodney’s extensive career, from his early days growing up in a musically driven household, to his work with artists like Beyoncé, Destiny’s Child, Brandy and Michael Jackson, and now to his newest venture as music supervisor for the hit-show Empire on FOX. Speaking with BMI’s Executive Director of Writer/Publisher Relations, Wardell Malloy, Rodney shared insights of his triumphs and struggles from classical musical as a cure for writers-block to his days as The Dark Child and more.
