Thisorientationisdesignedtogiveyoutheinformation,resources,andrelationshipsthatwill supportyourstudent’stransitiontouniversitylife.Youwillmeetthededicatedstaffwhowill workalongsideyourstudent,learnaboutthewiderangeofprogramsandservicesavailable, andgaininsightintotheuniqueHollinsexperience.

ThePinningCeremonyservesasasymbolicwelcomeforourincomingclass,marking thebeginningoftheiracademicjourney.HeldduringNewStudentOrientation,this specialeventbringstogetherstudents,faculty,staff,andalumnaetocelebratethe newestmembersofourcommunity.
We’re so glad you could join us for this special day! At the conclusion of the First-Year Pinning Ceremony, we encourage families to depart campus and explore the local area while students begin settling into their new home at Hollins. This time allows our newest Hollins community members to connect with their peers, make new friends, and start building connections.
