“I’m a former NMSD student (2015) and currently a freshman at Gallaudet University. Through my experience at NMSD, I feel prepared for college and feel more confident. NMSD has a lot of opportunities to join clubs, organizations, sports, events and most of all, feel part of a community. I was president of the Student Body Government (SBG) and vice president for the Class of 2015. I was involved in sports at NMSD such as volleyball, basketball and track, and was captain of the volleyball and basketball teams. I created many friendships as a result of being involved and now look at me, I am playing for Gallaudet’s volleyball team. NMSD made me a very strong and independent woman.
