CORDUROYS & MOLESKIN
This new collection of corduroy fabrics feature a variety of new and familiar qualities, all renowned for their performance and durability. Thanks to the popularity of the elastane qualities in our previous release, this season we have extended our range of fabrics containing elastane. Elastane offers comfort, strength and durability, but above all elasticity. A finished garment with 2% elastane will retain its shape both during and after wear.
Corduroy fabrics date back to the eighteenth century, it is believed their name derives from the French term “corde du roi” meaning “cord of the King”.
Cloths in this collection are ideal for both city and country casual attire but are also considered appropriate for less formal business attire.
Moleskins
The collection also includes a wide range of Moleskins in a variety of weights and colours. A moleskin is a heavy cotton fabric that is woven with a higher density of weft threads to warp threads and then sheared to create a short, soft pile on one side. Moleskin clothing is noted for its softness and durability, and is most suited for outdoor attire. Our high quality 100% cotton moleskin collection features autumnal chestnut and classic lovat alongside a range of classic neutrals.

VELVETS
The luxurious softness of velvet makes it the perfect choice for any formal event that requires a degree of elegance and sophistication.
Velvet was a very difficult and expensive cloth to make before the advent of industrial power looms, and was therefore only ever worn by the rich. Today the cloth is still difficult to produce but with the benefit of modern looms the process is much faster and more efficient.
A velvet cloth is woven on a special loom that weaves two layers of velvet at the same time. The two layers are joined together, face to face by an interlacing weft yarn. After the weft yarn has been inserted a cutting knife passes through the middle of both layers, cleanly separating them to create two cloths with an evenly distributed tufted pile.
The Holland & Sherry velvets collection offers a range of sumptuous colours including opulent purples, reds and blues, alongside the more muted maroon, mauve and Persian blue. The wide choice of colours ensures you will find just the right colour for you.

INTERCITY
The InterCity suiting collection has been designed specifically for the business environment, combining handmade quality with hardwearing practicality. This is our classic suiting line, traditionally British and heavyweight.
The cloth is woven in a stable 2/2 twill, from a 60/2 nm yarn in both warp and weft direction, giving the cloth body and fullness. These qualities offer durability and good drape, which are perfect for tailoring.
A traditional city suit comprises two main elements –the jacket and trouser, also described as a two-piece suit. The waistcoat is an optional extra for a particularly smart working environment or important meeting.
The InterCity collection offers a comprehensive range of stripes in classic navies and greys. The addition of contemporary colours, such as aubergine with a purple stripe, ensures broad appeal. The collection is completed by other woven designs including glen checks, sharkskins, birdseyes and herringbones.

GOSTWYCK TRILOGY
Produced from Gostwyck Super 170’s superfine Saxon merino wool, we proudly present Gostwyck Trilogy; a collection of 3-ply plains woven from our most popular weaves and constructions, in a series of classic and contemporary colours.
Exclusive to Holland & Sherry, the popularity of Gostwyck merino wool is exceeding all expectations, and it is fast becoming a core product for our high-end luxury markets.
The supply chain for all the fabrics in this collection is transparent and traceable from sheep to cloth; the wool having been responsibly sourced.
The trilogy begins with a collection of plain weave fabrics woven from a 3-ply, three colour twist yarn. The plain weave construction at 265grm, produces the perfect weight for all seasons, and is a subtle introduction to the other qualities in this collection.
Following the plain weave is a selection of fabrics in solid shades, woven from a traditional gaberdine construction; this is characterised by its steep twill line appearance. In keeping with our trilogy theme, this range is also woven from a 3-ply yarn, however, the yarns are solid in colour. This solid effect produces a consistent colour that is rich and opulent, and offers a heavier alternative to its plain weave counterpart.
The final instalment of this collection is the Serge; a balanced construction in both warp and weft directions that when woven produces a twill line with a distinctive 45-degree angle. Like its predecessors, this collection has also been woven from a 3-ply yarn, and like the plain weave, three colour twists have been used.
A myriad of colour, combined with three classic constructions, make this the “must-go-to-collection” for city or country attire – our Gostwyck Trilogy collection should not be missed!

SHERRYKASH
A regular feature of the Holland & Sherry collection, this luxury jacketing range of fabrics are constructed from the finest woollen-spun blended yarns, combining comfort and softness beyond compare. It is the peak of perfection and is renowned for its luxurious touch and soft contemporary styling.
The finest cashmere fibres have been gathered from the saddle of the cashmere goat by careful combing. This takes place during the spring months, when the soft downy, wintry undercoat is thick and lofty and ready to shed in preparation for the warm summer months ahead. Care is taken not to remove the outer guard hairs, compared to the soft down, these are much coarser and would spoil the handle and luxury of the finished product.
The harvested cashmere is then carefully blended with complimentary colours in soft merino wool to produce a range of opulent melange shades that are beyond compare.
The gentle combing process continues until all short staple fibres are removed and the longer filament fibres are in perfect alignment. Once this has been achieved the fibres are then gently twisted together in a soft ‘S’ direction.
The soft ‘S’ twist in the finished yarn and the gentle scour that the cloth undergoes contribute to the unparalleled softness, lightness and warmth of the cloth.
