Woven from a traditional serge construction, this comprehensive collection offers a variety of both contemporary and classic-coloured plains.
A serge is a well-balanced cloth that can be identified by its 45-degree twill line. To achieve this, the cloth has to be square set, thus having the same number of threads in both the warp and weft directions. This balanced construction gives the fabric good drape, handle and durability qualities.
The cloths in this collection are very versatile and are suitable for any occasion, whether it be the office, visiting the country lodge or relaxing on the Riviera.
The collection shares its name with bunch HS 2331A –a collection of classically-styled suiting fabrics woven from the same high quality Super 140’s worsted merino yarn.

CITY OF LONDON Vintage Suiting
The City of London suiting collection has been designed for the business environment, combining handmade quality with hardwearing practicality. This is our new classic suiting line, traditionally British and heavyweight. The collection offers a timeless selection of quality merino wool suiting fabrics for discerning professional people. The cloth is woven in a 2/2 twill, from a 36/2 nm yarn in both warp and weft direction, giving the cloth body and fullness. These qualities offer durability and good drape, enabling a garment to hold its shape.
Inspired by classic British styling, this collection uses the traditional weaves of twill, herringbone and birdseye in classic patterns such as pin stripe, chalk stripe, glen plaid and houndstooth, offering choice and variety.
We truly believe that this collection is the perfect choice for a British, tailored look.

CLASSIC WORSTED FLANNEL
This comprehensive collection of worsted flannels comprises classic chalk stripes, houndstooth, windowpanes and glen check designs in a series of traditional colours.
The qualities in this collection are woven from yarns that have been spun on the worsted spinning system, and are therefore more commonly known as combed flannels. Unlike carded flannels, combed flannels are less hairy, more durable and often lighter in weight making them more globally accepted.
To achieve a flannel finish the cloth has to go through a process called milling. Milling gently breaks down the cloth’s surface fibres producing a surface that is soft and fuzzy in appearance. The cloth is then carefully cropped to produce a more even texture.
Flannel fabrics are both comfortable and warm to wear, they have excellent drape and crease recovery properties making them one of the most popular choices for autumn and winter attire.

MOORLAND TWEEDS
Moorland Tweed is a traditional country suiting, woven from 100% worsted wool. A bespoke colour palette of two ply yarns have been created, and when woven together, create an opulent fabric of complex colour and depth. The palette is inspired by the dramatic Scottish landscape – the heathery hues found on the moorlands, the slate blue mountain slopes, green lichen on the trees and the fern-studded embankments of the moorland springs.
The fabrics in this bunch have been carefully selected to highlight the traditional qualities needed for the weatherbeaten terrain of the Scottish Highlands and they reflect the ancestral legacy of Scotland’s clans and landowners.
Today, we see many variations of estate tweeds as their popularity continues to grow. These functional fabrics, with their rustic heritage, offer warmth, protection and camouflage from the elements on the moors, and have become the ultimate choice for country sports and outdoor wear.

SHERRYKASH
A regular feature of the Holland & Sherry collection, this luxury jacketing range of fabrics are constructed from the finest woollen-spun blended yarns, combining comfort and softness beyond compare. It is the peak of perfection and is renowned for its luxurious touch and soft contemporary styling.
The finest cashmere fibres have been gathered from the saddle of the cashmere goat by careful combing. This takes place during the spring months, when the soft downy, wintry undercoat is thick and lofty and ready to shed in preparation for the warm summer months ahead.
Care is taken not to remove the outer guard hairs, as in comparison to the soft down, these are much coarser and would spoil the handle and luxury of the finished product.
The cashmere is then carefully blended with 18µ merino wool to produce a range of opulent melange colours that are beyond compare.
The gentle combing and blending of the fibres continues, and in doing so, any short staple fibres are removed from the blend.
Once all the longer fibres are in perfect alignment and the desired level of colour achieved, the fibres are gently twisted together in a soft ‘S’ direction.
The soft ‘S’ twist in the finished yarn and the gentle scour that the cloth undergoes contribute to the unparalleled softness, lightness and warmth of the cloth.

CLASSIC & CONTEMPORARY OVERCOATS
The traditional overcoat is generally long, more generously cut than its counterparts, and worn well below the knee or to the shin. As the term suggests, the overcoat is the outermost garment designed to wear comfortably over a tailored suit, and is often made from a heavy woollen fabric. Being heavy in weight, the overcoat lends itself to the autumn and winter months when the need to feel warm outdoors is essential.
In contrast the topcoat is lighter in weight, generally more fitting and worn to, or just above the knee. Whilst the peacoat; suitable for more casual occasions, fits the body more snuggly and sits comfortably around the hips.
This versatile collection includes a selection of classic and contemporary fabrics that lend themselves beautifully to these three styles and more, offering a variety of outerwear options for many different occasions.

Astratta is woven from our exclusive 17.5 micron Scottish merino wool spun into a soft woollen-spun yarn and dyed into one of only two colours before being woven into a series of fabrics that are distinguished by their complex structures, synonymous with their name.
It has taken several years to accumulate enough fibre to weave this collection therefore we offer this collection as a strictly limited-edition release.
