The Indus Valley Civilization was one of the earliest and largest civilizations on earth. This ancient society flourished around the Indus river and delta, with traces of their activities still visible across the region today in the form of ruins and relics. Alongside the Mesopotamians and ancient Egyptians, the Indus was one of the old world’s three earliest populations, and with a peak population of five million, it is also one of the most widespread.
Through the ages, this ancient people constructed perfectly planned towns and cities, complete with water supply systems, urban drainage and baths. They also incorporated many nonresidential buildings grouped together, suggesting government systems.

The China-Pakistan ‘Friendship Highway’ runs for 810 miles in total, starting in Abbottabad, Pakistan, reaching its highest point at 4,714 meters near Khunjerab Pass, and proceeding all the way to Xinjiang, West China.
