THE ARCIS SAXOPHONE QUARTET: A BIOGRAPHY
The Arcis Saxophone Quartet has been a European Chamber Music Academy (ECMA) member since 2014 and the group is noted for its charismatic stage presence.
HOLGER ZIEGELERTHE EARLY YEARS
The Arcis Saxophone Quartet made its international debut in the Great Hall of the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow. Following a subsequent concert in London’s Wigmore Hall, the group was invited to perform at the Berlin Philharmonic in 2017.
In March 2013, the quartet released their first CD, entitled Arcis Saxo-
phon Quartett spielt Enjott Schneider. The group’s second CD, Rasch, was released in 2017.
PRIZE WINNERS
The Arcis Saxophone Quartet was awarded first prizes at the Musikwettbewerb des Kulturkreises Gasteig e.V. and at the International Music Competition Concorso Argento in Italy in 2013. The group also
took home first prize at the 2015 4th International Contest – Festival of Chamber Ensemble Performance.
The ensemble was the recipient of the Bavarian State Award for Arts in 2016 and has also been awarded with the Scholarship of the Theodor-Rogler Foundation, a Scholarship of the Erika and Georg Dietrich Foundation, and a Scholarship of Music by the City of Munich.
