Just a few short weeks later, Camp celebrated onsite in Ashford, Conn. at “With a Little Help From Our Friends: A Fandango Benefit Gala Celebration.” More than 250 Hole in the Wall friends from both the Gala and Beantown Bash communities gathered under sunny skies for a triumphant return to our Gala Celebration. The day was filled with fantastic activities like food trucks, a silent auction, stilt walkers and sneak peeks of the new Creative Complex, along with the highlight of the event – the Fandango Performance. Long-standing Camp friends, Christina and John Horner, were recognized with Camp’s highest honor, the Most Wanted Award, recognizing their unwavering support of Hole in the Wall. And a host of celebrity friends including Kathryn Allison, Kelli Barrett, Blythe Danner, Dexter Darden, Christopher Jackson, JoJo, Andy Karl, Richard Kind, Bridget Moynahan, Lissy Newman, Orfeh, Sam Waterston and Dar Williams, shared their talent alongside the show’s true stars, seven incredible campers – Alex, Andrew, Arianna, Drew, Serenity, Sophia and Taylor. With musical numbers, playful skits, and an inspirational story about the impact of Hole in the Wall Camp from camper Hadassah, it was a show to remember. Following the performance, Richard Kind emceed a lively auction, and as the event drew to a close, participants were treated to dinner, music and dancing.
Rounding out 2022, the 31st Annual Big Apple Bash returned to Tavern on the Green in the heart of Central Park in New York City. More than 450 guests enjoyed the festivities, including themed rooms featuring cocktails and mocktails, hors d’oeuvres, dinner buffets, and more. Supporters were inspired as camper Shariah shared how Hole in the Wall programs provided community and connection after her diagnosis with undifferentiated embryonic sarcoma of the liver and camper Andrew showed off his awesome dance moves. A heated courtyard tent offered a variety of performances including Omnium Circus and Shake Rattle & Roll dueling pianists. On the Spot Photos, PAC-MAN Battle Royale and arts & crafts added to the fun as DJ Kaz kept guests dancing into the night.
