IN-TEXT CITATIONS - HOW TO MAKE YOUR VOICE SING IN YOUR WRITING

Description How do you make your voice sing in your academic writing while elevating the chorus of researchers whose work strengthens your thesis?

In this workshop tailored for international students at HMS, participants will broaden their understanding of how to cite sources within their scholarly work and correctly give due credit to the author(s). In addition to enhancing participants’ knowledge of varied signal phrases in academic English when citing research, students will learn how to identify the source for the reader and enable them to locate the source of information in the alphabetical reference list at the end of the paper. The workshop is designed to strengthen and refine participants’ summarizing and paraphrasing skills as well as reinforce the art of avoiding plagiarism through hands-on, relevant activities.
