WHAT, WHY, AND HOW PROFESSIONAL COMMUNICATION - FROM CLASSROOM TO WORK ENVIRONMENT Description In this workshop, participants will broaden and strengthen their professional and oral communication skills. With a specific emphasis on topics such as pronunciation for clear communication, presentation dos and don'ts, sociocultural influences and intercultural communication styles, and debate and discussion academic language, the workshop is interactive and integrated. Rationale Tailored to the language and learning needs of HMS international students, the purpose of this workshop is to sharpen your professional communication skills for the classroom, research lab, thesis committee, or networking event. Navigating cultural differences, communication styles, and academic expectations can feel like trying to solve an impossible puzzle. We can help! Join this workshop to discuss communication skills in and out of the classroom, practice tips for effective presentation and networking skills, and develop strategies for real world communication situations in academic, professional and social settings.
