Refunds
Need money to cover fall living expenses?
Students who expect to have a credit balance once all anticipated aid is disbursed may apply for a living expense refund against the future credit.
Fall refunds will be processed in mid-August.

Financial aid award notifications are now available through the HMS Financial Aid Portal.

Discounted Student MBTA Pass
Fall 2025 Semester T-Pass
The MBTA Semester Program is a school managed pre-paid program offering an 11% discount on passes to HMS students. Passes are purchased as a four-month bundle. Fall term passes are from September through December.
HMS allows one MBTA semester pass order per student per term. Students must be enrolled at HMS in the Master’s Degree or MD program to participate.

IDR Plan Court Actions
A federal court has prevented the U.S. Department of Education from implementing parts of the Savings on a Valuable Education (SAVE) Plan and other income-driven repayment (IDR) plans.
As of March 26, 2025 the online IDR application is available for eligible borrowers to apply for IBR, PAYE, and ICR Plans. The online loan consolidation application is also available again.

The cost of Harvard’s health insurance plan is considered a mandatory fee. For full need students, this fee is covered with HMS scholarship funds.
