GUIDELINES FOR CANON PIXMA MX452 SETUP

Canon PIXMA MX452 is an all-in-one inkjet printer for home use and it supports mobile printing. The Easy-WebPrint EX plug-in lets you put multiple webpages into a single layout that you can print. The following procedure will help you with the Canon Pixma MX452 setup

Step-1: Unpack the printer

1. Unbox the printer and make sure you have all the printer accessories.

2. Next, remove all the packaging materials from the printer.

3. Open the front cover and paper output tray and lift the document cover.

4. Following that, open the paper output cover and remove the protective materials from inside.

5. Close the paper output cover and the document cover

Step-2: Power connection

1. Use the power cord supplied with the printer to connect between a wall outlet and the printer’s power cord connector.

2. Now, press the power button to power up the printer and then set the language on the operational panel.

Step-3: Install ink cartridges

1. Open the paper output tray and the paper output cover.

2. Pull down the ink cartridge lock lever, then unpack an ink cartridge.

3. See that you remove all the protective film from the ink cartridge and then install it in its slot.

4. Raise the cartridge lock lever to lock it and install the other ink cartridge in the same way.

5. Close the paper output cover and then the paper output tray

Step-4: Feed plain paper

1. When the wireless network setup message appears, select Cancel for now and continue with the setup. However, if you have a wireless router that supports WPS, you can connect the printer to it now

2. Without opening the paper output tray, extend the paper support.

3. Shift the right paper guide to the end and then arrange the paper with its print side facing down.

4. Insert the paper until it stops and then adjust the paper guide according to the paper size, but do not make it tight.

5. Open the output tray extension, paper output tray, and paper output support in the same order

Step-5: Install the software

1. Once the physical setup is complete, install the printer software on your computer.

2. The printer software helps to manage and control the printer from the computer.

HOW TO CONNECT CANON MX452 PRINTER TO LAPTOP

1. You can connect the printer and the laptop using the USB setup or wireless network setup methods.

2. For the wireless setup method, you have to turn on your Wi-Fi router and connect the laptop and the printer to it.

3. If it is a USB setup, keep the USB cable ready for connecting.

4. Install the printer driver on your laptop and choose any one connection method.

5. Follow the driver installer instructions and finish the connection setup.

6. For the USB connection, attach the USB cable to connect the laptop and the printer when prompted in the setup wizard.

CANON MX452 PRINT FROM PHONE

1. Connect the printer and the mobile phone to the same Wi-Fi network.

2. Download the Canon SELPHY app on your iOS or Android mobile. It is available in the App Store and Google Play Store.

3. Launch the app, tap the ‘+’ symbol to detect the printers available on the network.

4. Select your printer and tap OK to connect the printer to the mobile phone.

5. Choose the suitable print option and select the document or picture you want to print using the app.

6. Touch Next, then touch Print to start printing.

7. Once printing is complete, tap OK.

8. Perform these steps to configure the Canon Pixma MX452 setup.

CANON MX452 FAX SETUP

Read the following procedure to set up the FAX features of the printer

1. Connect the telephone line cable from the wall jack to the printer’s telephone line jack.

2. Power up the printer and press the Setup button to view the options.

3. Select Fax settings > Fax user settings > Telephone line type and choose the type.

4. Next, press the FAX button to return to the Fax screen.

5. From the FAX menus, select Receive mode set and then pick a suitable mode.

6. Select Yes to confirm the settings.

7. Press the Setup button, choose Device settings > Dev.user settings > Date/time setting.

8. Use the navigation buttons to move and set the correct date and time.

9. Press OK and then the press FAX button.

CANON MX452 PRINT HEAD ALIGNMENT

Perform the print head alignment to check the print quality The misaligned lines indicate poor print quality. Do not perform this when the ink level in the cartridge is low

1. Turn on the printer, load enough paper in the tray, and extend the paper output tray and support.

2. Press the Setup button, then select Maintenance, and finally choose Head alignment.

3. Now, wait until the head alignment sheet is printed.

4. Check the patterns and confirm it by selecting Yes.

5. Tap OK. Following that, open the document cover and place the sheet on the scanner glass with the printed side facing down.

6. Close the document cover and press either the Black or Color button to adjust the print head.

CANON MX452 FIRMWARE UPDATE

1. By updating the printer’s firmware, you can improve its performance.

2. Do not perform the firmware update when the Canon Pixma MX452 setup printer is sending or receiving the fax, or performing any printer operation because it would delete the FAX memory of the printer.

3. Connect the printer to the internet and keep the printer turned on during the update process.

4. Press the OK and the Yes buttons together until the firmware update begins.

5. Read the on-screen instructions and follow it to complete the update successfully

HOW TO RESET CANON MX452 PRINTER

Resetting the printer erases the current printer settings and restores the printer to the default factory settings. Use the below steps to reset the Canon MX452 printer.

1. Press the Setup button, then select Device settings > Reset setting.

2. There are different reset options given and you have to choose All data to reset all the printer settings.

3. When the Canon Pixma MX452 setup printer prompts to confirm the reset action, select Yes.

4. After resetting, the confirmation message appears on display.
