Rufus Wainwright
溫萊特目前共推出七張專輯、三張影碟和 三張現場演出錄音唱片。曾與他合作的歌 手包括艾頓．莊、大衛．拜恩、馬克．朗 森、瓊尼．米歇爾和伯特．巴哈拉赫。溫 萊特於十四歲已奪得加拿大 JUNO 最佳另 類專輯獎。 2006 年於卡內基音樂廳現場錄 音的《魯弗斯翻唱茱迪》，更獲格林美獎 提名。

Wainwright has released seven studio albums, three DVDs, and three live albums. He has collaborated with artists ranging from Elton John, David Byrne, Mark Ronson, Joni Mitchell to Burt Bacharach. At the age of 14 he was named Canada’s best young musician and later received the Juno Award for Best Alternative Album. His album Rufus does Judy recorded at Carnegie Hall in 2006 was nominated for a Grammy.
His first opera, Prima Donna , premiered at the Manchester International Festival in July 2009 and has since been presented in London, Toronto and BAM in New York. In 2010 Wainwright was commissioned by the San Francisco Symphony to compose and interpret “Five Shakespeare Sonnets”, a five-movement song cycle that sets Shakespeare’s Sonnets to orchestra and voice. They have since been performed worldwide by orchestras including the Chicago and Montreal Symphonies.
In 2010 he was the first artist to complete a five-concert residency at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden in London. In Sept 2014 he had his debut with the London Proms at Royal Albert Hall and performed at the Last Night of the Proms in the Park.
Other recent achievements include the 2012 world premiere of Sing Me The Songs That Say I Love You: A Concert for Kate McGarrigle , the feature-length music documentary that captured the May 2011 tribute concert honoring Rufus’s late mother. In 2013 he sang for Billy Joel at the Kennedy Center Honors in Washington and October 2015 saw the Deutsche Grammophon release of a double CD/vinyl recording of Prima Donna with the BBC Symphony Orchestra. Deutsche Grammophon will also be releasing an album of Shakespeare Sonnets set to Rufus' music in Spring 2016 in celebration of the 400th Anniversary of Shakespeare's death.
The Canadian Opera Company commissioned Wainwright’s second opera, about Roman Emperor Hadrian, to premiere in Toronto in the fall of 2018.

今晚的音樂會將在音樂上結合三件事： 我所編寫的歌劇（我自十三歲起迷上歌
劇並醉心鑽研作曲編曲）、我自己的歌 曲加上我對於歌劇和流行樂裏展現的人 聲的萬千變化和力量的鍾愛、以及我對 管弦樂團音樂和合作演出的熱誠。
音樂會將聚焦我備受好評的處女歌劇作 《首席女聲》，伴以由兩位出色藝術家
法蘭西斯科．弗素里導演、仙迪．雪曼 演出的電影。
在約長一小時的上半場，三位歌唱家與 管弦樂團會一氣呵成演出我的歌劇處女 作《首席女聲》主要選段。
意大利裔藝術家弗蘭西斯科．弗素里擔 任導演，銀幕上將放映取材自歌劇界傳 奇瑪麗亞．卡拉絲的華麗影像。這系列 影像構成第一組配合音樂的畫面。在我 而言，「女神」卡拉絲是適合的人選。
她在 70 年代於巴黎公寓拍攝的經典訪 問，早已令我萌生編寫此劇的念頭。
在演奏最後一首詠嘆調〈煙花〉時，以 上影像會化成一套嶄新的影片。它由弗 素里和美國藝術家仙迪．雪曼合作拍攝，
取景於富麗堂皇的巴黎劇院 Théâtre des Variétiés。
雪曼小姐將會盛裝打扮，在光影中粉墨 登場剖析人們對天后的迷戀。如是者， 她的影像會跟台上的真人女高音合而為 一，成為「首席女聲」演唱歌劇的動人 終曲，造就歌劇絕妙而不同凡響的尾聲。
將影片、藝術、歌劇和現場演出揉合而 成的多重享受，以歌劇術語來說可說是 一種「總體藝術」（註）。

Musically this concert is a celebration of three things: my operatic compositions – a skill I've been honing for many years since I first became fanatical about the form at the age of 13; my songs – coupled with my love for the human voice in all its variety and power (be it in opera or in pop) ; and my passion – for both singing with and composing for a symphony orchestra.
The evening’s main focus is on my acclaimed first opera Prima Donna , set to images by two great artists, Francesco Vezzoli and Cindy Sherman.
In the first act, lasting about one hour, we do major scenes from my debut opera Prima Donna fluidly without interruption. This is sung by three classical singers and accompanied by the orchestra.
Elegant images on a large screen by the fantastic Italian artist Francesco Vezzoli, centered around the legendary Maria Callas, will be the first visual accompaniment to the music, Callas being an apt choice since I was actually inspired to write the opera years ago after watching a classic interview with "La Divina" from the 1970s, filmed in her gorgeous Paris apartment.
For the final aria, “Les feux d'artifice” (“The fireworks”), these images morph into a newly produced film, a collaboration between Vezzoli and the wonderful American artist Cindy Sherman filmed in Paris at the stunning Théâtre des Variétiés.
It stars the latter cinematically dissecting the cult of the Diva with costumes and make up (as only she can!).
Eventually, the moving images both literally and figuratively of a transforming Sherman mixed with the lead soprano onstage, the Prima Donna, performing the touching ending to the opera on the night of the show culminate into something truly fabulous and unusual. Film, art, opera and live performance all at the same time. A kind of Gesamtkunstwerk if you like, if one were to speak in operatic terms.

來到今晚的下半段演出，我會在管弦樂團 伴奏下演唱和與嘉賓歌手合唱，輕鬆愉快 地親自演繹我的歌曲和歌劇選段。
這會為音樂會畫上精采的句號。我會在帶 領觀眾登上壯麗的歌劇懸崖峭璧之後，把 他們安穩地帶回輕鬆的「魯弗斯．溫萊特 之夜」。在這裏大家可以暢度美好時光， 也可回想那段我們一起經歷的、稱之為歌 劇的奇異而瑰麗的旅程。
譯註：總體藝術（ Gesamtkunstwerk）是 十九世紀德國作曲家理察．華格納（ 1813 1883）心目中的理想藝術形式，將詩歌、 舞蹈等戲劇元素在演出中賦予跟音樂同等 的重要性。

Be it Sunset Boulevard , A Star Is Born or the movie Diva from the 1980s, Prima Donna , like those other popular tales of the stage and its psychological traps and trappings, the universal "show business" theme and all that that entails, when presented to an audience that either knows about opera or, more importantly, knows NOTHING about opera, any person can instinctively understand what's being sung about, and relate to it. Why? Because we've all been stage struck.
Finally, both in terms of this text and the concert, in the second act of the evening I come out and perform songs and a bit of opera in a very light and festive manner solo, with the orchestra and with the guest singers.
This is a fantastic way to end the evening, essentially first leading the audience out on the fabulous precipice that is opera and then finally, and with love, safely bringing them back to the comfortable world of "an evening with Rufus Wainwright", a place where they can both enjoy their time and if they wish, reflect on the beautifully odd and glorious journey that is Opera, a journey that on that night, we will have all taken together.

Floirat is an artist and art critic. She began her training in New York, and attended the design academies of Reims and Eindhoven, Netherlands. She then changed direction with several “exploratory” periods of discovery in Ethiopia, Mongolia, the Middle East, and across America on the trail of the elusive vestiges of land art. This led her to Berlin, where she worked with architects specialising in art spaces for another five years. From working with Robert Wilson as well as Rufus Wainwright for several years, her interests have culminated in her graduation with a Master in Critical Writing in Art & Design from the Royal College of Art, London.
Floirat is a regular contributor to various publications such as art press, Frieze, Intramuros, l’Officiel Art and The World of Interiors. She has been a special guest at Monumenta – Grand Palais in Paris since 2011, where she draws and writes alongside major contemporary artists such as Anish Kapoor, Daniel Buren, Ilya and Emilia Kabakov. More recently Art Brussels has invited her to create a live critical drawing installation on the walls of the art fair.

Carneiro was named Music Director of the Berkeley Symphony in 2009. She also currently serves as official guest conductor of the Gulbenkian Orchestra. In 2014/15 the season she made her debut at the English National Opera conducting the world stage premiere of John Adams’s The Gospel According to the Other Mary. Other recent highlights include debuts with the Orchestre National de Lyon and the Helsingborg Symphony.
International highlights of previous seasons include appearances with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic at London’s Royal Albert Hall. In 2010 she led performances of Peter Sellars’s staging of Stravinsky's Oedipus Rex and Symphony of Psalms at the Sydney Festival, which won Australia's Helpmann Award for Best Symphony Orchestra Concert in 2010. Increasingly in demand as an opera conductor, Carneiro made her Cincinnati Opera debut in 2011 conducting John Adams’ A Flowering Tree
She was a finalist of the 2002 Maazel-Vilar Conductor's Competition at Carnegie Hall. From 2005 through 2008, she was an American Symphony Orchestra League Conducting Fellow at the Los Angeles Philharmonic, where she worked closely with Esa-Pekka Salonen and led several performances at Walt Disney Concert Hall and the Hollywood Bowl.
Carneiro is the 2010 recipient of the Helen M. Thompson Award, conferred by the League of American Orchestras to recognise and honour music directors of exceptional promise. In 2004, Carneiro was decorated by the President of the Portuguese Republic, Jorge Sampaio, with the Commendation of the Order of the Infante Dom Henrique.

Fox was educated at Giggleswick School, London University and the Royal College of Music. A former winner of the Kathleen Ferrier Award and the John Christie Award, she is also an Honorary Fellow of Royal Holloway College, London University.
Roles at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden have included Micaela in Carmen, Asteria in Tamerlano, Zerlina in Don Giovanni and Woglinde in Der Ring des Nibelungen. Other highlights have included Susanna in Le Nozze di Figaro for Glyndebourne and The Royal Danish Opera, Mimi in La Bohème for Opera North. Her concert career has encompassed engagements in Denver, Minneapolis, New York, San Francisco, Tel Aviv and Tokyo as well as tours throughout the UK and Europe. She has worked with many of the world’s leading orchestras including the Academy of Ancient Music, Berlin Philharmonic, and Concerto Cologne. She has appeared several times at the BBC Proms, the Edinburgh Festival and the Three Choirs Festival and is a regular guest with the Classical Opera Company and at London’s Wigmore Hall. She performs frequently with John Wilson and his Orchestra; she is a regular guest on BBC Radio 2’s Friday Night is Music Night, and has performed a series of concerts with Rufus Wainwright in Europe.

Wang has collaborated with world-class musicians, including composers Jake Heggie and Huang Ruo, and conductors like Carlo Rizzi and Patrick Summers. She has shared the stage with Frederica von Stade, Kiri te Kanawa, Dai Yuqiang, and others.
In 2011 Wang joined the Merola programme at San Francisco Opera as a young artist, where she sang scenes from Lucia di Lammermoor and Rigoletto . Also in 2011 she appeared as a guest soloist at New York City Opera’s Annual Composer showcase concert VOX. In 2012, she was a featured young artist at Des Moines Metro Opera singing Zerlina in Don Giovanni and a series of concerts. Other operatic roles include Susanna and Barbarinain in Le Nozze di Figaro, Gilda in Rigoletto, and Liu in Turandot. On the concert stage, Wang has frequently appeared as guest solo soprano in the repertoires including Handel’s Messiah, Mozart’s Requiem, and Richard Strauss’s Op 68 Brentano Lieder.
Wang was the first place winner of the Opera Columbus Competition; the East Bay Young Artist Vocal Competition; Fe Bland Scholarship Competition; Henry & Maria Young Artist Scholarship Competition; two-time first place winner of the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions in the San Francisco District; winner of the Gerda Lissner International Competition; a Semifinalist in the 2009 Eleanor McCollum Competition at Houston Grand Opera, and first place at NATS Southern Regional. She received her Doctoral of Music Arts from University of Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music. She currently works as a fulltime voice faculty at Macao Polytechnic Institute.

Winner of multiple awards and prizes, Figueroa was honoured with the Silverman prize for his interpretation of Belmonte in Die Entführung aus dem Serail at the International Vocal Art Institute (IVAI) in Tel-Aviv. Figueroa was featured in the Quebec performances of Starmania Norma and Das Rheingold for Orchestre symphonique de Montréal. He has also toured in La Veuve Joyeuse for Jeunesses Musicales du Canada. Figueroa recently completed a worldwide tour of Peter Brook’s A Magic Flute singing Tamino culminating in performances in New York under the aegis of Lincoln Center.
Highlights of recent seasons include performances with Orchestre symphonique de Montréal in Orff’s Carmina Burana, the title role in Castor Et Pollux in Toulouse, Ferdinand in Robert LePage’s staging of Thomas Adès’s The Tempest at Festival l’Opéra de Québec. He also sang the Mozart’s Reqiuem with the Winnipeg Symphony. Other highlights include singing Beppe in Pagliacci for Opera Lyra Ottawa, Rossini’s Petite Messe Solonelle with the Taiwan National Choir, and Fenton in Falstaff for L’Opéra de Québec and Opéra de Lausanne.
A multi-lingual tenor and Desmarais Foundation award winner, Figueroa completed a master’s degree at the University of Montréal.

Born in 1971, in Brescia, Italy, Vezzoli studied at the Central St. Martin’s School of Art in London. He currently lives and works in Milan. His works have been selected to represent Italy four times at the Venice Biennale: at the 49th, 51st and 52nd art editions held in 2001, 2005 and 2007, respectively, and at the 2014 Architecture Biennial. His works have been featured in other international exhibitions such as the Whitney Biennial 2006. He has also held solo shows around the world in venues including the New Museum of Contemporary Art, New York and Tate Modern, London. His work has also been shown at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York, the Whitechapel Art Gallery in London, among other venues.
Vezzoli’s solo show Cinema Vezzoli was presented at MOCA in Los Angeles, while his solo project Teatro Romano was on display at MoMA New York.

Born in 1954 in Glen Ridge, New Jersey, Sherman is counted among the most influential artists of the last half century. She has gone on to photograph and cast herself in various roles through her masterful use of costume, setting and pose.
Sherman has had solo exhibitions at institutions including The Museum of Modern Art, New York; Louisiana Museum of Modern Art, Copenhagen; Jeu de Paume, Paris; Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofia, Madrid, and others. Sherman has most recently participated in major group shows and biennials such as BAD THOUGHTS: Collection of Martijn and Jeanette Sanders, Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam; Paparazzi! Photographers, Stars, and Artists, Centre Pompidou Paris; A Bigger Splash: Painting After Performance , Tate Modern, London (2012), and others.

香港管弦樂團（港樂）被喻為亞洲最前 列的古典管弦樂團之一，樂團歷史可追

The Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra (HK Phil) is recognised as Asia’s foremost classical orchestra with its history stretching back to 1895 and the Orchestra has been fully professional since 1974. The Orchestra presents over 150 concerts within a 44-week season and attracts more than 200,000 music lovers annually.
Jaap van Zweden, one of today’s most sought-after conductors, is the Orchestra’s Music Director since the 2012/13 concert season. Maestro van Zweden was recently announced as the next Music Director of the New York Philharmonic. This appointment will not affect his tenure with the HK Phil; his commitment to the HK Phil extends at least to the summer of 2019. Yu Long was appointed for an initial three-year term in the 2015/16 season as Principal Guest Conductor.
Under Maestro van Zweden, the HK Phil is undertaking a variety of initiatives including a four-year project to perform and record the complete Ring of the Nibelung (Richard Wagner). The Orchestra also undertook a highly successful five-country, seven-city tour of Europe in the 2014/15 season, with concerts in London, Vienna, Zurich, Eindhoven, Birmingham, Berlin and Amsterdam.
Thanks to a significant subsidy from the Hong Kong Government and long-term funding from Principal Patron the Swire Group, the Hong Kong Jockey Club and other supporters, the HK Phil now boasts a full-time annual schedule of classical music concerts, pops concerts, an extensive education programme, and collaborations for staged opera with Opera Hong Kong and the Hong Kong Arts Festival. The Swire Group has been the Principal Patron of the HK Phil since 2006.
The Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra is financially supported by the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.
