Hong Kong ArTS Fe STivAL ( HKAF)
香港藝術節 於 1973 年正式揭幕,是國 際藝壇中重要的文化盛事,於每年 2 、 3 月期間呈獻約 150 場演出及約 250 項「加料」和教育節目,致力豐富香港 的文化生活。
香港藝術節 是一所 非牟利機構,約三成 經費來自香港特區政府的撥款,約四成 來自票房收入,而餘下約三成則有賴各 大企業、熱心人士和慈善基金會的贊助 和捐款。
香港藝術節 每年呈獻眾多 國際演藝名 家 的演出,例如:芭托莉、卡里拉斯、 馬友友、格拉斯、馬素爾、沙爾、巴里 殊尼哥夫、紀蓮、史柏西、皇家阿姆斯 特丹音樂廳樂團、聖彼得堡馬林斯基劇 院基洛夫樂團及合唱團、巴伐利亞國立 歌劇院、紐約市芭蕾舞團、巴黎歌劇院 芭蕾舞團、翩娜.包殊烏珀塔爾舞蹈劇 場、雲門舞集、星躍馬術奇藝坊、皇家 莎士比亞劇團、莫斯科藝術劇院及北京 人民藝術劇院等。
香港藝術節 積極推介 本地演藝人才和 新晉藝術家 ,並 委約及製作 多套全新 戲劇、室內歌劇和當代舞蹈作品,甚 或出版新作劇本,不少作品已在香港 及海外多度重演。
香港藝術節 大力投資下一代的藝術教 育。 「青少年之友」 外展計劃成立 23 年來,已為約 700,000 位本地中學生 及大專生提供藝術體驗活動。藝術節每 年亦通過 「學生票捐助計劃」 提供近 9,000 張半價學生票。
HKAF, launched in 1973, is a major international arts festival committed to enriching the life of the city by presenting about 150 performances and 250 PLUS and educational events in February and March every year.
HKAF is a non-profit organisation, with about 30% of annual revenue from government funding, around 40% from the box office, and the remaining 30% from sponsorships and donations from corporations, individuals, and charitable foundations.
HKAF presents top international artists and ensembles, such as Bartoli, Carreras, Yo-Yo Ma, Glass, Masur, Chailly, Baryshnikov, Guillem, Spacey, the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, the Mariinsky Theatre and Valery Gergiev, Bavarian State Opera, New York City Ballet, Paris Opera Ballet, Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch, Cloud Gate Dance Theatre, Zingaro, Royal Shakespeare Company, Moscow Art Theatre, and the People’s Art Theatre of Beijing.
HKAF actively promotes Hong Kong’s own creative talents and emerging artists , and commissions , produces and publishes new works in theatre, chamber opera and contemporary dance, many with successful subsequent runs in Hong Kong and overseas.
HKAF invests in arts education for young people. In the past 23 years, our Young Friends has reached about 700,000 secondary and tertiary school students in Hong Kong. Donations to the Student Ticket Scheme make available close to 9,000 half-price student tickets each year.

HKAF organises over 100 Festival PLUS activities in community locations each year to enhance the engagement between artists and audiences. These include lecture demonstrations, masterclasses, workshops, symposia, backstage visits, exhibitions, meetthe-artist sessions, and guided tours.

2014 年第 42 屆的香港藝術節,在 40 多個節目及演出團體、138 場的演 出當中,就有九個由藝術節委約創作
以及自主製作的節目,演出接近 40 場。從室內歌劇、當代舞蹈、戲劇、 創新戲曲,以至當代音樂,這些新作
品聚合了不同藝術界別不同崗位的藝 術家和眾多合作者的共同努力,從台 前到幕後,從個人到團體機構;從香
港出發,但卻不囿於本土,同時關注 與我們毗鄰的中國、台灣、亞洲,以 至世界。這是香港藝術節作為一個國
際藝術節的願景,也是我們作為本地 一個重要藝文團體在推動藝術發展上 的方向。
「新銳舞台系列」的新創作,在我們 每年呈獻的新作品中佔據著特殊位
置,它們由藝術節直接委約及擔任監
製,從題材、劇本、創意開始,進而 至創作、演出及製作人員的組合,劇 本修訂、發展,以及製作安排、宣傳
推廣及營銷,甚至新劇本的出版,我 們都與創作人同行,期望在有限的資 源裏,予以藝術創作最有效的輔助和
策劃。作為獨立製作人,我們希望在 香港往往倉促的創作及製作環境裏, 與藝術工作者共同經營及規劃更理想 的創作框架。
今年的四個「新銳舞台系列」節目, 其實包含了五個新作品:李鎮洲導
演、韋羅莎和李穎蕾分別自編自演的 兩個短劇;新進編劇王昊然再度與陳
The 42nd Hong Kong Arts Festival features 138 performances of more than 40 programmes, nine of which are Festival commissions or productions that will be presented in 40 performances. Ranging from chamber opera, contemporary dance, theatre, innovative Beijing opera to contemporary music, these new works bring together individual artists and collaborators as well as organisations from different artistic fields, whose talent and effort shine on stage and backstage. Initiated in Hong Kong, these productions are not bound by a geographical “localness” but transcend the local identity to echo the sensibilities of Mainland China, Taiwan, Asia or even the world. This is part of HKAF’s vision as an international arts festival, and the direction it has taken in making arts as a major arts organisation in Hong Kong.
The new works featured in the “New Stage Series” form a distinct position among the new productions presented by the HKAF every year. Commissioned and produced by the Festival, we support the creation of these works in every way, from the conception of production, script development, to selection of performers, creative and production teams, and oversee production arrangements, marketing and publicity, sales, and even the publication of new plays. As an independent producer working within the limits of this often hectic environment for artistic creation and production in Hong Kong, we hope to build a stronger framework with arts practitioners for the creation of new works.
曙曦導演合作的《森林海中的紅樓》; 我們首度委約的英語劇本《末族》, 由編劇楊靜安撰寫、資深英語導演莊 培德執導;還有北京與香港戲劇人田 戈兵與馮程程共同編作的《鐵馬》。 這五套作品,題材及觀點各異,旨趣 大不相同,粵語、英語、普通話三種 語境無分軒輊,藝術取向也是各走各 路,但最終都聚焦於香港、聚焦於生 活或旅居當中的人。它們寫香港各色 人等各種階層的生活、思想、感情, 其中有香港土生土長的年青男女,有 漂泊香港的中國人,有久居香港的外 國人,還有北京人與香港人的創作對 話。五個作品加起來,構成了複雜多 元的社會面貌,拼湊成複調的香港人 群像,動人的城市即景,揭示現實背 後難以言喻的真相。

The four “New Stage Series” programmes from this year feature five new works: a double bill of short plays by Rosa Maria Velasco and Santayana Li, directed by Lee Chun-chow; Red Chamber in the Concrete Forest , the second collaboration between emerging playwright Simon Wang Haoran and director Chan Chu-hei; FILTH, the first English-language play commissioned and produced by the HKAF, written by upand-coming playwright Jingan MacPherson Young and directed by veteran Englishlanguage director Peter Jordan; and Iron Horse , jointly devised by Beijing’s avantgarde theatre director Tian Gebing and Hong Kong dramaturg Vee Leong. Performed in Cantonese, English and Mandarin, these five works present contrasting subjects, perspectives, objectives and artistic approaches; however, they remain focused on Hong Kong, and look at its native and expatriate inhabitants. They depict the daily life, thinking and emotion of those from different walks of life, young men and women who were born and raised in Hong Kong, Mainland Chinese becoming Hong Kongers, expatriates who have made the city their home, and the dialogue between Beijing and Hong Kong. These five works present complex and diverse facets of the Hong Kong society, weaving polyphonic images of its people and movable cityscapes that reveal the unspoken truths of reality.

來到香港的第一年,我租下了灣仔區 一間十平方米不到的套房,七樓,沒
電梯,3400 人民幣一個月。為了省
下網費,我敲了鄰居的門,是一位胖 胖的菲律賓姐姐,她只穿着睡衣和內 褲。她對我笑,我問她願意一起分 攤網費嗎?於是她留下了電話,她叫 Amy。後來,常碰見她房間出入不同 的白人和聽見晚上傳來的聲音,我才 知道她是一名性工作者,香港人稱之 鳳姐。
一個深夜,我出去跑步,因為這時間 沒車沒人。回來時發現沒帶鑰匙,我
冷得要死,而該死的房東不肯幫忙, 他只會用我聽不懂的潮州話罵我。我
撥通 Amy 的號碼,不一會兒,穿着
睡衣和內褲的 Amy 噔噔噔跑下來開 門了,咯咯地笑我。終於明白了什麼
叫遠親不如近鄰,Amy 是我在香港 的第一個朋友。
兩年後我搬到了旺角,全球人口最密 集的區域。在我的樓下,住了十幾個
鳳姐,賓客往來,絡繹不絕,她們 幾乎都是內地來的移民,香港的小夥 子和大叔們十分喜愛光顧,甚至某些 房間門口有客人排隊等候。我所見的 是,上來的每個香港同胞都帶着一臉
惆悵或是焦慮,出來時,腳下都帶着 一股清風,飄然而去。不一會,出 現一兩名鳳姐,嗒嗒的高跟鞋經過 走廊,帶着一種幹練和自信消失在 另一個房間。香港的朋友總愛提中
港矛盾,而每當此時,我實在不曉 得這矛盾究竟在何處。
For my first year in Hong Kong, I rented an “en-suite room” in Wan Chai – not quite 10 square metres in size, on the seventh floor, with no lift in the building. It cost RMB 3,400 a month. Trying to save on internet costs, I knocked on my neighbour’s door. A chubby Filipino lady answered, wearing only a pyjama top and underpants. She smiled. I asked if she wouldn’t mind sharing internet costs. She then gave me her number. Her name was Amy. Later, I often bumped into different Caucasian men coming to her room. I also heard the noises that drifted over at night. I then realised she was a sex worker – a lady of the night.
Late one night, I went out for a run –because at that hour there are no cars and no one on the streets. When I got back, I realised that I hadn’t got my keys. I was cold and the only help I got from my bloody landlord was a telling-off in the Chaozhou dialect, which I can’t even understand. I called Amy. Shortly afterwards, Amy trotted down the stairs in her pyjama top and underpants to let me in, laughing at my silliness. This made me understand why distant relatives don’t measure up to close neighbours. Amy was my first friend in Hong Kong.
Two years later I moved to Mong Kok, one of the most densely populated areas in the world. Below me live a dozen or so ladies of the night. Clients come and go all the time. Nearly all the ladies are immigrants from the Mainland. Hong Kong’s young lads and old geezers really enjoy coming here – there’re even queues outside some of the rooms. What I’ve seen is that they come in with
有感於城市森林裏這一點如燈塔般 溫暖的紅光,我寫下了《森林海中 的紅樓》。
troubles and worries on their faces; when they leave, there’s a spring in their step, a lightness to their frame. Every so often, a lady or two walks down the corridor in high heels and disappears into another room with an air of competence and confidence. Our friends in Hong Kong always talk about their conflicts with the Mainland, but at moments like this, I really can’t understand where those conflicts lie.
Moved by these warming, beacon-like red lights in the urban forest, I wrote this play, Red Chamber in a Concrete Forest.

對我來說,每一個劇場創作也是一次 「渡海」的旅程,我們總希望最終能 游到彼岸。可是,每次要「渡」的 「大 海」總不會風平浪靜,只要稍一不 慎,便會迷失方向或被巨浪吞噬!儘 管如此,我們這群傻人卻一次又一次 心甘情願地跳進去拚命的游,也許, 我們都覺得海上一瞬而逝的風光能勝 過一切未知的危險和困難。
感謝 Simon 創作了這個「森林海」, 也感謝香港藝術節給我們跳進這個 「海」的機會,更感謝整個一起「渡 海」的團隊,你們的「投入」及「創 意」為這次「渡海」的旅程添上絢麗 多彩的顏色。在此,祝願大家終於能 在這個「森林海」中找到屬於自己的 「紅樓」。
Each theatre production, for me, is like an open water swim. We always hope that we can get to the shore. But the sea we cross is never calm, and if we’re not careful, we might get lost or be swallowed up by the waves! Even so, we silly lot willingly jump in, time after time, paddling for our lives. Perhaps, we feel a moment of glory in the sea eclipses all hidden dangers and the difficulties along the way.
I want to thank Simon for creating this “concrete forest” – this “sea of trees”. And thank you, the Hong Kong Arts Festival, for giving us the chance to jump into this “sea”. Most importantly, I’d like to thank the team that took part in this “open water swim” together. Your devotion and creativity have made this “swimming adventure” dazzling and colourful. Here, I hope everyone will find their very own “red chamber” in this “concrete forest”.

編劇作品有《桎梏》、《叉燒》(新域劇團劇場 裏的臥虎與藏龍)、《爆.蛹》(第 41 屆香港 藝術節)等,另著有多部短劇,其中憑《我不
是 Woyzeck》獲 2013 年由美國愛荷華大學和上 海話劇藝術中心聯合舉辦的「劇翼」國際寫作 計劃一等獎。導演作品有《螳螂捕蟬》、《菲 德拉的愛》和《作家之死》等。主演劇目包括 《威尼斯商人》、《沃依采克》、《金尾小恐龍》 等。翻譯作品有《茱莉小姐》(艾瑤•花柏改 編)、《末族》(楊靜安著)、《示範單位》(潘 惠森著)、《香港式離婚》(黃詠詩著)等。
Wang graduated from the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (HKAPA) with a Master of Fine Arts in Drama (Distinction). He also holds a bachelor’s degree from Shenzhen University, where he majored in English Literature and minored in Japanese. His plays include Shackle , The Barbecued Pork (Prospect Theatre), Blast (produced by the 41st Hong Kong Arts Festival), and others. He has authored a number of short plays including I’m Not Woyzeck, first-prize winner in The Book Wing 2013 (Drama) co-presented by the Iowa University and Shanghai Dramatic Arts Centre. Wang has directed various productions, such as To Kill or to be Killed, Phaedra’s Love, Death of a Writer and others. He has played the lead roles in The Merchant of Venice, Woyzeck, The Little Dinosaur with a Golden Tail, and other productions. He has translated the scripts of Mies Julie (adapted by Yaël Farber), FILTH (Jingan MacPherson Young), Show Flat (Poon Wai-sum) and The Truth About Lying (Wong Wing-sze).

Chan Chu-hei 導演 Director
1991 年畢業於香港演藝學院戲劇學院,主修表 演。畢業後赴英國 Philippe Gaulier 學院進修戲 劇。 2006 年創立天邊外劇場。 2012 年創立香 港藝穗民化協會。陳氏憑演戲家族《談情說愛》 及《邊城》獲第 8 屆及 11 屆香港舞台劇獎最 佳男主角(喜/鬧劇)。近年演出有天邊外劇 場《變天》及《法吻》及香港藝術節《示範單 位》。導演方面,陳最近憑香港演藝學院《李 逵的藍與黑》獲香港舞台劇獎最佳導演獎,憑 天邊外劇場《月季與薔薇》及《生死界》獲第 二屆及第四屆香港小劇場獎最佳導演獎。近作 有天邊外劇團《如果.在.冬.夜.一個.旅. 人》及第 41 屆香港藝術節《爆•蛹》。
Chan graduated from HKAPA in 1991 with a major in Performance, before receiving further training in theatre in the UK. He founded Theatre Horizon in 2006 and Hong Kong People's Fringe Association in 2012. His awards in acting include Best Actor in the 8th and 11th of Hong Kong Drama Awards for his roles in True Love Never Run Smooth and The Border Town for Actor's Family. He starred in Winds of Change and The French Kiss for Theatre Horizon, and Show Flat in the 41st Hong Kong Arts Festival. Chan has been awarded Best Director in Hong Kong Drama Awards for The Black and the Blue of a Man. He was also awarded Best Director in the 2nd and 4th of Hong Kong Theatre Libre for Theatre Horizon’s Roses and Roses and Entre vie et mort respectively. His recent directorial works include If on a Winter’s Night A Traveler and Blast

2006 年畢業於香港演藝學院戲劇學院,獲藝術 學士(榮譽)學位,主修表演。畢業後活躍於 本地劇壇, 2009 年創立黑目鳥劇團,並任該 團之藝術總監,致力推動本地原創舞台劇作。 近年積極編寫劇本,作品包括香港話劇團《鄧 世昌的歷史故事》及黑目鳥劇團《鴕鳥頭》。
Tang graduated from HKAPA in 2006 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Hons), majoring in Acting. An active presence on the local theatre scene, he established Black Bird Theatre in 2009 and serves as its arts director. In recent years he has written a number of stage plays including Tang Sai Cheong (Since 1894) for HKREP and The Head of Ostrich for Black Bird Theatre.

畢業於香港演藝學院戲劇學院表演系。張氏活 躍於舞台、影視、配音、戲劇教育、戲劇/默 劇工作坊及舞台策劃工作,亦曾參與多個國際 藝術節和工作坊,包括希貝尼克國際兒童節 (克羅地亞)、日本 Kijimuna 演戲節等。 2011 年成立目乙劇場, 2013 年聯同龍黑子創作劇 場舉辦戲劇/武術交流工作坊,並在安徽省亳 州市創辦首屆文化藝術交流展覽會 《古道曹 操》。現為自由身工作者。

2013 年畢業於香港演藝學院戲劇學院(主修 表演)。近期參演劇場作品有《禁葬-安蒂岡 妮》東北村落版、個人棟篤笑《演員的自我搔 癢》、《秀才與劊子手》、《李逵的藍與黑》等。

In 2013 Hui graduated from HKAPA, majoring in Acting. Recent stage performances include Antigone (Northeast Village Edition), R Myself, The Scholar & the Executioner, The Black and the Blue of a Man, and others. Hui has penned lyrics for the stage play The Scholar & the Executioner, for which he was nominated for The Best Original Lyrics in the 22nd Hong Kong Drama Awards. He also penned the lyrics of What’s Behind on the movie soundtrack of Love in the Butt
Cheung graduated from HKAPA with a Bachelor of Fine Arts, majoring in Acting. She has participated in several international festivals, such as the International Children's Festival in Šibenik (Croatia) and Kijimuna Festa (Japan). Cheung founded the Free Will Theatre in 2011. In 2013 she teamed up with Longheizi Creative Theatre to hold a drama and martial arts workshop, as well as The Trail to Cao Cao – The First Inter Arts and Culture Festival in Bozhou, Anhui Province. She is currently a freelance artist.

Zhao graduated from HKAPA, majoring in Acting. She performed in HKAPA’s productions such as Six Characters in Search of an Author and The Scams of Scapin. She received the Lam Lap Sam Scholarship and Fredric Mao Scholarship at school. Recent performances include Antigone (Theatre Horizon). Zhao was nominated for the Best Supporting Actress (Comedy/Drama) for her role in A Good Husband (The Nonsensemakers) at the 22nd HK Drama Awards and Best Actress ( Oresteia ) at the 3rd HK Theatre Libre. She also works in film, television, commercials and dubbing.

畢業於演藝學院戲劇學院。最近演出天邊外 劇團《禁葬-安蒂岡妮》、前進進戲劇工作坊 《讀劇沙龍 2013》、《金龍》、《誰殺了大象》 (中國巡演)、《短鼻子大象小小》、《在天台上 冥想的蜘蛛》。畢業作《李逵的藍與黑》獲第 22 屆香港舞台劇獎的最佳整體演出及十大最受 歡迎演出。 2012 年參加「劇場裏的臥虎與藏龍 計劃」,至今發表了兩個劇本《無他,我家…》 及《豬狗》。現為自由身演員。
A HKAPA graduate, Chan has performed in Antigone (Theatre Horizon), Play-reading Salon 2013 (Onandon), The Golden Dragon, Who Killed the Elephant (China tour), Short-nosed Elephant Xiao Xiao, Spiders in Meditation, and other productions. His play The Black and the Blue of a Man received the Best Performance Award, and was named one of the 10 Most Popular Performances at the 22nd Hong Kong Drama Awards.
He has written two plays, Without Him, My Family and Pigdog , under the Playwright Scheme 2012. He is currently a freelance actor.

自小學習舞蹈,於山東藝術學院戲劇學院攻讀 表演學士學位,2008 年前往加拿大繼續進修表 演專業。 2011 年香港演藝學院戲劇學院碩士, 主修表演。在港讀書期間,參演劇目有《危險 關係四重奏》、《吾•費德爾》,以及讀劇「劇 場裡的臥虎與藏龍計劃」《兒童秘戲》。大學期 間參演劇目包括:《撒滿月光的花園》、《日 出》、《原野》、《駱駝祥子》、《青春禁忌遊 戲》、《櫃中緣》、《群猴》、《天堂有多遠》等。
Lao received her bachelor’s degree in Acting from Shandong University of Arts. She studied professional performance in Canada in 2008, and received her Master of Fine Arts in Acting from HKAPA in 2011. In Hong Kong, she has performed in Quartett, I , Feder and others. Her performances during her university study include Moon Light in the Wild, The Day of Sunrise, Desert and others.

畢業於香港演藝學院,主修舞台佈景及服裝設 計,同時涉足舞台設計、視覺藝術創作、影像 美術指導、作曲和音樂演奏。 2011 年憑第 18 屆法國五月藝術節之《無際空境》中的舞台設 計,入選參展布拉格舞台設計四年展 2011。 近作有第六屆「新視野」藝術節委約作品《大 鬧天宮》及鄧樹榮戲劇工作室無語言形體喜劇 《打轉教室》的巡迴演出。
Yip graduated from HKAPA with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (first-class honour), majoring in Theatre Set and Costume Design. He works in stage and costume design, visual arts, arts direction, composition and music performance. His stage design, La Demande d’emploi , was featured in the Prague Quadrennial in 2011. His recent works include O You Heavenly Creatures! produced by Ho Bit Goon and Detention produced by Tang Shu-wing Theatre Studio.

Wong obtained his Bachelor of Science and Master of Philosophy from Chinese University of Hong Kong. He then obtained his Bachelor of Fine Arts from HKAPA, majoring in Lighting Design. Currently a freelance theatre worker, he has lit such productions as In Search of Hui Sin , The Frog Prince - A Ballet Chinois and Detention. In 2012, Wong worked on Titus Andronicus 2.0 by Tang Shu-wing Theatre Studio, and toured with the group to Norway, Poland, Taiwan and Beijing.

Cheung graduated from HKAPA, majoring in Arts, Event and Stage Management. At school she participated in The Desired and The Black and the Blue of a Man , which brought her honours such as the Best Stage Manager and the Best Stage Management. She was also involved in productions like If on a Winter’s Night A Traveler by Theatre Horison x Hong Kong Originator and La Vie Parisienne in Le French May. She founded nothingcreated recently with professionals from different fields.

Currently a freelance stage worker, Ho has been involved in many productions by the Hong Kong Arts Festival including Murder in San Josè (third run and Singapore’s run), The Truth About Lying, Wild Boar, Smear. She has also participated in Soulmate (re-run) and Roommate by Istage, and The Real Thing by Wong Chi-wah. Her recent work includes 1941 Girl of Actor's Family.
