第五十一屆香港藝術節隆重舉行,可 喜可賀。

逾半個世紀以來,藝術節每年均呈獻 多姿多彩的文藝節目,由古典音樂、 歌劇、戲劇,以至舞蹈、多媒體項 目等,包羅萬有,令觀眾大飽眼福。

今屆藝術節以《收音機與茱麗葉》及 《春之祭》芭蕾舞表演揭開序幕,兩 齣經典作品經由著名編舞家愛德華· 克魯格重新編排,加上斯洛文尼亞 國家歌劇院馬里博爾芭蕾舞團傾力演 出,萬眾矚目;約五星期後,歐洲頂 尖交響樂團—德國班貝格交響樂團將 登台獻技,為今年藝術節畫上圓滿句 號。其間上演的焦點節目還有: 國 際星級女高音安娜·涅翠柯與丈夫男 高音尤西夫·伊瓦佐夫聯袂表演的音 樂會;由藝術家威廉·肯特里奇精心 製作、南非木偶劇團和比利時里切卡 爾古樂團奇妙演繹的蒙特威爾第歌劇 《尤利西斯歸鄉記》;由芭蕾天后娜塔 麗亞·奧斯波娃領銜主演的芭蕾巨 星之《「世」不可擋》及傳奇舞姬之 《趾尖》;以及國際鋼琴大賽冠軍劉曉 禹的演奏會。

藝術節向來十分重視本地演藝人才, 致力讓他們一展才華。今屆藝術節亦 會上演多個粵劇節目,包括《竹林愛 傳奇》、「毛俊輝.粵劇情」、《畫皮》 (精新版),以及「短篇粵劇—戲說 八德」; 並帶來其他本地作品,包括 《飯戲攻心》踏台版、《末戀.無愛合 約》、舞蹈歌劇《兩生花》等等,定 必精彩萬分,不容錯過。

大眾還可通過藝術節,體驗繽紛的藝 術魅力。法國食蟻獸沉浸式藝術工作 室創作的《第一步》,會邀請觀眾互 動共舞;在大館舉行的一系列免費藝 術科技節目,以及「無限亮」計劃, 亦會讓公眾參與其中。「無限亮」計 劃由本地和海外不同能力的藝術家擔 綱演出,鼓勵青少年衝破界限,探索

I would like to congratulate the Hong Kong Arts Festival on the organisation of its 51st edition.

For more than half a century now, the Arts Festival has enthralled audiences with a superb annual programme of arts and culture performances embracing classical music and opera, theatre, dance, multimedia and a great deal more.

This year’s Arts Festival programme opens with the Slovene National Theatre Maribor’s ballet performances of Radio and Juliet and Le Sacre du Printemps, two classics re-imagined by celebrated choreographer Edward Clug. It closes, nearly five weeks later, with a concert by Germany’s Bamberg Symphony, one of Europe’s greatest orchestras. Other highlights include Anna Netrebko, one of the world’s great sopranos, performing with her husband, tenor Yusif Eyvazov; artist William Kentridge’s remarkable production of Monteverdi’s opera, Il Ritorno d’Ulisse, brought to life by South Africa’s Handspring Puppet Company and Belgium’s Ricercar Consort periodinstrument ensemble; Ballet Superstars’ Force of Nature and Legendary Ballerina

in Two Feet featuring supreme ballerina Natalia Osipova; and concerts by the international award-winning piano virtuoso Bruce Liu.

As always, the Festival shines a spotlight on standout artists from Hong Kong. This year’s Cantonese opera offerings include Love in the Bamboo Grove, Cantonese Opera Classics Circa 2023, The Painted Skin (Refined Edition) and Virtues and Morality—Four Cantonese Operas. Local productions including Table For Six on Stage, Loveless Romance and Love Streams are sure to be among this year’s Festival highlights.

Several programmes invite public participation as well, including the First Steps participatory dance performances staged by France’s Tamanoir Immersive Studio, as well as Tai Kwun’s free series of arts tech productions and the Festival’s No Limits programme, led by local and international artists of varying abilities. No Limits’ offerings emphasise youth exploration, as does the Young Friends of the Hong Kong Arts Festival with its school tours, preperformance workshops and special programming. And then there is the Festival PLUS creative activities that bring artists and audiences together in communities throughout Hong Kong.

I am grateful to the Hong Kong Arts Festival for its inspired commitment to the arts and to Hong Kong’s continuing rise as an East-meets-West centre for international cultural exchange. My thanks, as well, to the Festival’s many generous sponsors and donors.

I am delighted to welcome you to the 51st edition of the Hong Kong Arts Festival. As the city recovers from the disruption of the pandemic, the Festival is returning with an array of live performances featuring top-notch artists from Hong Kong and across the world. Despite the boundless possibilities offered by the internet, attending performances in person remains an irreplaceable experience. It gives me great pleasure to share this collective experience with you today.

The Festival is made possible by the generosity of our supporters.

I wish to thank the HKSAR Government, via the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, for the annual subvention which underpins our long-standing work. I am also grateful for the ongoing contributions from The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust, as well as corporate sponsors, charitable foundations and individual donors. My sincere thanks go

to the participating artists for their dedication to bringing the best to our audiences, especially those returning after previous cancellations due to the pandemic.

Our theme this year, “Coming Back, Moving Forward”, represents our determination to come back in full force after several years of uncertainties caused by the pandemic. After five decades of hard work and dedication, the Festival has established itself as a premier arts event in the region and an important international arts festival. We are honoured to carry this legacy forward, while advancing our multifaceted work to stay relevant in the present. In the 51st edition, we discover creative voices through new renditions of masterpieces, cross-disciplinary collaborations and commissioned productions— all of which showcase the breadth and endless possibilities of the performing arts, taking us one step

forward in this journey of exploration. Beyond exceptional performances, we are also offering a series of auxiliary PLUS programmes to enhance audience engagement and provide deeper insights into our programmes. Our strong commitment to arts education is seen in the extensive outreach activities aimed at inspiring the younger generation of Hong Kong through promoting quality arts.

The Festival steps into the second half of its first centenary with both optimism and renewed courage to bravely face the great challenges ahead. I hope you will stay close with us and be inspired by what the Festival has to offer.

香港藝術節於 1973 年正式揭幕,是國際藝壇中重要的文化 盛事,於每年 2、 3 月期間呈獻眾多優秀本地及國際藝術家 的演出,以及舉辦多元化的「加料」和教育活動,致力豐 富香港的文化生活。

香港藝術節 是一所非牟利機構,2022/ 23 財政年度預計收

入(包括第 51 屆香港藝術節及 2023 年「無限亮」)約港 幣一億五千萬,當中香港特區政府的年度撥款佔總收入約 18%,另外約 24%需來自票房收入,約 43%則需依賴來自 各大企業、熱心人士和慈善基金會的贊助和捐款。預計餘 下的約 15%則來自其他收入,包括政府針對捐款和贊助收 入而提供的配對資助。

The HKAF, launched in 1973, is a major international arts festival committed to enriching the cultural life of the city by presenting leading local and international artists in all genres of the performing arts as well as a diverse range of “PLUS” and educational events in February and March each year.

The HKAF is a non-profit organisation. The total estimated income for FY2022/23 (including the 51st Hong Kong Arts Festival and 2023 “No Limits”) is approximately HK$150 million. Current Government annual funding accounts for around 18% of the Festival's total income. Around 24% of the Festival’s income needs to come from the box office, and around 43% from sponsorship and donations made by corporations, individuals and charitable foundations. The remaining 15% is expected to come from other revenue sources including the Government’s matching scheme, which matches income generated through private sector sponsorship and donations. The HKAF has presented top international artists and ensembles across multiple genres, such as*:

• Chinese opera: China National Peking Opera Company, Hebei Clapper Opera Troupe, Shanghai Zhang Jun Kunqu Art Center, Suzhou Kunqu Opera Company of Jiangsu, Zhejiang Xiaobaihua Yue Opera Troupe

The HKAF actively collaborates with Hong Kong’s own creative talent and showcases emerging local artists. Over the years, HKAF has commissioned and produced over 250 local productions across genres including Cantonese opera, theatre, chamber opera, music and contemporary dance, many with successful subsequent runs in Hong Kong and overseas. Recent HKAF productions include The Plague, Always by Your Side, Pavilion of a Hundred Flowers, A Floating Family – A Trilogy, Hong Kong Odyssey, Danz Up, Datong – The Chinese Utopia, The Amahs and Murder in San Jose, to name a few.

The HKAF frequently partners with renowned international artists and institutions to produce exceptional works, such as Der Fensterputzer (The Window Washer) co-produced by HKAF, Goethe-Institut Hong Kong and Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina

成立 30 年來,已為逾 810, 000 位本地中學生及大專生提供 藝術體驗活動。藝術節近年亦開展多項針對大、中、小學 生的藝術教育活動,包括由國際及本地藝術家主持的示範 講座及工作坊、學生展演、演前講座、公開彩排、以及欣 賞藝術節演出。同時,通過「學生票捐助計劃」,藝術節 每年提供約 10, 000 張半價學生票。

Bausch, Richard III and The Tempest produced by The Old Vic, BAM and Neal Street under “The Bridge Project” with HKAF as a co-commissioning institution, Green Snake co-commissioned with Shanghai International Arts Festival, and Dream of the Red Chamber co-produced with San Francisco Opera.

The HKAF invests heavily in arts education for young people. Over the past 30 years, our “Young Friends” scheme has reached over 810,000 local secondary and tertiary school students. A variety of arts education projects serving primary, secondary, and tertiary school students have been launched in recent years, featuring activities such as student showcases, pre-performance talks, open rehearsals, opportunities to attend Festival performances, as well as in-school workshops and lecture demonstrations led by international and local artists. Donations to the “Student Ticket Scheme” also make available approximately 10,000 half-price student tickets each year.

The HKAF organises a diverse range of “Festival PLUS” activities in community locations each year to enhance engagement between artists and audiences. These include films, lecture demonstrations, masterclasses, workshops, symposia, backstage visits, exhibitions, meet-the-artist sessions, and guided cultural tours.

The HKAF actively promotes inclusiveness and understanding via the arts to every corner of the community. The “No Limits” project, co-presented with The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust, was launched in 2019. Through a series of performances and diverse arts experiences for students and the community, “No Limits” strives to create an inclusive space for people with different abilities to share the joy of the arts together.

The HKAF officially launched the Hong Kong Arts Festival Foundation in 2022 to provide greater financial security and longterm sustainability for the Festival. Donations to the Foundation will help the Festival to present large-scale projects which its annual budget cannot cater for. (2023

Natalia Osipova—Ballet ’s Force of Nature

只要看一眼奧斯波娃緊密的排 練日程,就能明白她為何被稱 作「全世界最炙手可熱的芭蕾 舞者」。來自莫斯科的奧斯波 娃,如今已是英國皇家芭蕾舞 團的首席舞蹈員,也是世界各 地不少頂級舞台的客席藝術家。

奧斯波娃正值其職涯的全盛 期,並被視作傳奇,在國際間 舉足輕重。即使普遍來說, 藝術家在晚年或身後才會被封 為「傳奇」,這樣的定律在奧斯 波娃身上卻不適用。據奧斯波 娃的其中一位導師,前舞者娜 塔莉亞‧馬卡洛娃所說,「你 很難不為她(奧斯波娃)的演

舞蹈傳奇的誕生

奧斯波娃在祖國俄羅斯先參與 體操訓練,之後才開始跳舞, 生涯軌跡與同樣享負盛名的法 國芭蕾舞者蕭菲.紀蓮相似。

奧斯波娃天生具備的韌度和力

量,為她提供了學習芭蕾舞的 完美條件; 她在莫斯科大劇院 芭蕾舞學院學習時已有傑出表 現。2004 年,她加入莫斯科大 劇院芭蕾舞院,一登台便技驚 四座,後來地位節節攀升,在 加入舞團一年內便得到獨舞的 角色。來自各地的優秀芭蕾舞 團如美國芭蕾舞劇院和米蘭史 卡拉歌劇院,都開始邀請奧斯 波娃合作,這讓年少的她接觸 到不同的劇目和表演者,獲取 寶貴的體驗。

Natalia Osipova has been called “the most sought-after ballerina in the world” and one look at the dancer’s demanding schedule proves it. Hailing from Moscow, today Osipova is a star at The Royal Ballet where she holds the highest rank of Principal Dancer, but she is equally known as an acclaimed guest artist gracing the world’s most elite stages.

Currently in the prime of her career, Osipova is already considered a legend; such is her international influence. Never mind that “legend” is usually a title bestowed upon artists later in life or even posthumously. According to one of Osipova’s coaches, retired ballerina Natalia Makarova, “you can never be indifferent watching her”. Indeed, Osipova experienced a meteoric rise to fame at a young age that has resulted in a diverse repertoire staged by the world’s most distinguished choreographers and coaches. Always humble and grateful for the opportunities that her hard work and innate talent have generated, the ballerina recently stated, “I’m so happy! I have everything in my career.”

Dance legend in the making

In her native Russia, Osipova came to dance via gymnastics, not unlike the French ballerina Sylvie Guillem, another revered figure of the dance world. Osipova’s natural flexibility and strength made her a perfect candidate for ballet studies at which she excelled under the tutelage of the Moscow State Academy of Choreography. In 2004 she joined

the corps de ballet of the Bolshoi Ballet and impressed audiences the moment she stepped on stage, quickly climbing the ranks of the prestigious company. Cast in solo roles within a year of joining the Bolshoi Ballet, Osipova began to receive international invitations to collaborate with the world’s leading ballet companies, including the American Ballet Theatre and La Scala in Milan. This gave the young dancer a taste of different repertoires and performers, offering new experiences that Osipova cherished.

After spending seven years with the Bolshoi Ballet, Osipova began to feel limited in her work with the company and continued to seek new opportunities to expand her artistry. Upon leaving the Bolshoi, she made the bold decision to freelance for two years without a permanent contract or affiliated troupe. Enter the Royal Ballet, where Osipova spent two months as a guest star in the dual role of Odette/Odile in Swan Lake opposite Carlos Acosta. During her stay with the London-based company, the dancer fell in love with The Royal Ballet’s dancers and its rich repertoire that combines both narrative classics and contemporary cutting-edge productions.

As a result, Osipova has added another accolade to her already illustrious career, creating a bridge between contemporary and classical dance, as the ambitious performer tackles new creations alongside historic ballets with

the same level of enthusiasm and work ethic. While she may have burst onto the scene with virtuosic intensity in ballets like Don Quixote, Osipova is a brave performer whose recent undertakings prove she isn’t afraid to embrace different approaches to movement, from experimental to the humour one often finds in dance theatre. “I am always learning,” she modestly proclaims in a documentary dedicated to her career thus far.

Expanding horizons

In Osipova’s latest touring project, Force of Nature, the ballerina calls on her keen sense of experimentation to create a diverse programme of dance works that display the full range of her talents. Joining forces with a select handful of her favourite partners, including Reece Clarke of the Royal Ballet, Osipova interprets some of ballet’s most iconic choreography, such as Pas des deux from Giselle Act 2. But the programme is also a tribute to the living choreographers who have enlivened Osipova’s repertoire, such as Alexey Ratmansky, arguably the world’s leading choreographer for classical ballet. Infusing classical technique with new rhythms and nuances, his Valse Triste is a tour de force for Osipova’s emotional commitment. Sidi Larbi Charkaoui, Europe’s most soughtafter contemporary choreographer with whom Osipova has collaborated on multiple occasions, is also a prominent addition to the programme. His

fluid earth-bound style is on full view in Qtub, a trio for Osipova, Jason Kittelberger (who is also the ballerina’s partner in real life, off stage) and Robbie Moore. It’s a testament to Osipova’s talent that she can oscillate with ease between the suspended verticality of classical ballet and the grounded modernity of Charkaoui’s choreography in the same programme.

Force of Nature reflects Osipova’s commitment to what she calls the art of voyaging: “The role isn’t the same every time. I like to try different languages, dance is so vast,” she has said. There seems to be no end to the praise that Osipova has garnered from audiences and critics alike. They have cited her steely strength, her theatricality, and her supernatural abilities. As such, “force of nature” is not an exaggeration, but an apt description of this dynamic and generous performer.

阿列克謝.拉特曼斯基致力復 興芭蕾舞,備受各國推崇。拉 特曼斯基現為紐約市芭蕾舞團 駐團編舞,自奧斯波娃在莫斯 科大劇院初出茅廬,便已是她 的舞台搭檔。拉特曼斯基以古 典芭蕾舞技巧為基礎,喜用結 構複雜的音樂元素,一如 2018 年為奧斯波娃創作的《悲傷圓 舞曲》。這段抒情舞步帶有世紀 巨匠巴蘭欽早期創作的影子—— 把古典芭蕾的優雅之姿以及煥 然一新的幾何佈局共冶一爐。

The sylph of steel

Force of Nature is Natalia Osipova’s latest touring project, a spellbinding concoction of timeless classics and cuttingedge contemporary productions. The programme features an inviting mix of choreography carefully selected by the ballerina, providing insight into the legendary Osipova’s vocation through diverse solos and pas de deux. Force of Nature is a celebration of the ballerina’s career and the performances that have shaped her, including some created specifically for her by leading choreographers of ballet and contemporary dance.

Osipova first rose to prominence in Moscow while dancing with the prestigious Bolshoi Ballet. International guest invitations to La Scala and the American Ballet Theatre quickly followed. These international collaborations expanded the dancer’s repertoire and nourished her curiosity for diverse approaches to choreography, inspiring a move to London where she became a Principal Dancer of The Royal Ballet in 2013. Since then, Osipova has been hailed as a veritable superstar, touring the globe and appearing in a feature-length documentary about her career to date. Garnering numerous accolades, among other flattering titles she has been called “the sylph of steel” in reference to her technical prowess and romantic sensibilities. Appearing in nearly every piece on the programme, Osipova’s unwavering endurance

demonstrates that the “sylph of steel” moniker is well-deserved.

Qutb: abstract expressionism

In Qutb , Osipova is forming a trio with Jason Kittelberger and Robbie Moore. Qutb is an Arabic word which translates into English as "axis" or "pivot". It refers to a spiritual leader who passes on knowledge and has a divine connection with God. Commissioned by Osipova in 2016, the small ensemble is choreographed by Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, arguably Belgium’s most celebrated dance artist. Qutb is not the first shared endeavour between choreographer and ballerina, while Kittelberger, who is also Osipova’s partner off stage, has served as Cherkaoui’s longstanding choreographic assistant. The group’s trust and familiarity result in a bold constellation that requires shared shifts of weight, including threelayered lifts that envelop the entire trio into folded, elevated shapes. The choreography recalls the practice of contact improvisation in its sustained use of physical support and touch, evoking an interdependent ecosystem. Although they don’t possess an ostensible narrative, the physical energy signatures of both Solo and Qutb invoke strong feelings and personal stories.

Valse Triste and Ashes: emotional landscapes

Alexei Ratmansky is the leading international authority when it comes to reinvigorating

ballet today. Recently named Choreographer in Residence at the New York City Ballet, he has collaborated with Osipova since her early days at the Bolshoi. His exciting compositions based on classical technique employ complex musicality in performances such as Valse Triste, a ballet he created for Osipova in 2018. The lyrical duet recalls the early work of George Balanchine in its ability to oscillate between classical elegance and innovative geometry. Romantic lunges and lifts see the two dancers reaching to their limbs’ full capacity, a physical embodiment of the yearning underscored in Valse Triste, or “sad waltz”.

Kittelberger’s choreography in Ashes also draws a strong emotional response through its expressive phrasing. Merging classical lines and the organic curve of the spine, Ashes is a powerful depiction of vulnerability and gaminelike freedom. Highlighting Osipova’s classical technique alongside her adventuresome forays into more contemporary movements, the piece showcases the ballerina’s unbridled runs, turns and explosive jumps in quick succession. Valse Triste and Ashes have the added benefit of choreographers who know their subject personally, providing a well-tailored vehicle for Osipova’s versatility and exuberance.

Dance of the Blessed Spirits and The Dying Swan: subtle classics

While Osipova appears on stage for much of Force of Nature, Dance of the Blessed Spirits is danced by Royal Ballet Principal Reece Clarke. The solo Dance of the Blessed Spirits was created by English choreographer Frederick Ashton for a 1953 staging of Gluck’s opera Orphée et Eurydice Ashton is a pillar of 20th-century British ballet whose choreography, famed for its complexity, remains highly influential within the Royal Ballet’s repertoire. Dance of the Blessed Spirits emits a deceptively simple aura of curved arms and refined postures that gently transition into intricate turning patterns, a challenge for the most talented of male dancers.  While the emotional intensity of Orpheus’ longing for Eurydice radiates, the choreography never departs from its controlled restraint of the upper body,

even during weightless circular jumps. Understated and refined technique have come to define the English classical style, thanks in no small part to Ashton’s legacy.

Force of Nature concludes with another subtle masterpiece, Michael Fokine’s The Dying Swan. This iconic solo was created for the Russian ballerina Anna Pavlova in 1907. Like Osipova, Pavlova was an international superstar of the dance world and organised her own touring programmes. When Fokine choreographed The Dying Swan for her, it was seen worldwide and revolutionised ballet for its focus on natural expressivity rather than technical virtuosity. It has remained an important hallmark for ballerinas throughout the 20th and 21st centuries ever since. Here, Osipova pours her natural

intensity into the dying swan, hauntingly embodying the final moments of its life. While a solid technical foundation is required of the role, the expressivity of the dancer’s upper body is at the heart of this short performance. Repeating small movements of the feet known as bourrés, the ballerina travels in small steps en pointe while her arms outline the delicate flapping of a fading bird. The swan’s death may be understood as a more universal symbol of transitioning, the human ballerina exploring the mysteries of dying as she gracefully folds to the floor.

As for Osipova, she will be reborn again and again on stages around the world, exploring new characters and new movement languages as a force of nature.

她曾在倫敦南岸中心上演個人 製作《母親》(阿瑟.皮塔編 舞,2018 )及《卡門》(迪蒂. 維曼編舞,2022 )。

2019 年阿德萊德藝術節,澳洲 編舞家梅莉.坦卡德為奧斯波 娃重新編製 1988 年舞劇名作 《趾尖》。

2019 年,英國電影電視藝術學 院大獎得獎導演嘉里.霍士執 導紀錄片《自然力量》,探討奧 斯波娃的傳奇一生。2021 年, 奧斯波娃創製首個非同質化代 幣( NFT )芭蕾舞集。

Russian-British prima ballerina Natalia Osipova is renowned for her unique technique and charismatic interpretations in classical and contemporary dance She has been described as “a bolt from dance heaven” (The Times).

Her roles with the Company have included the title role in Giselle (“truly astonishing, a supernatural tour de force” –The Guardian), Kitri (Don Quixote), Sugar Plum Fairy (The Nutcracker), Princess Aurora (The Sleeping Beauty), Lise (La Fille mal gardée), Titania (The Dream), Marguerite (Marguerite and Armand), Juliet, Tatiana (Onegin), Manon, Sylvia, Mary Vetsera (Mayerling), Natalia Petrovna (A Month in the Country), Anastasia, Gamzatti and Nikiya (La Bayadère) and roles in Rhapsody, Serenade, Raymonda Act III, DGV: Danse à grande vitesse and Tchaikovsky Pas de Deux She has created roles in Woman with Water, Strapless, Woolf Works, Tetractys, Connectome, Medusa and in works by Possokhov and Ratmansky, among others

She regularly appears as a guest artist with companies around the world such as La Scala Theatre Ballet and the American Ballet Theatre, and conceived Natalia Osipova (2016) and Pure Dance (2018,) commissioned by Sadlers Wells Theatre and choreographed by Alexei Ratmansky, Akram Khan, Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, Arthur Pita and Iván Pérez, David Hallberg and Jason Kittelberger.

Osipova has received Golden Masks for her performances in In the Upper Room (2008) and La Sylphide (2009), the awards

for Best Female Dancer at the Critics’ Circle National Dance Awards (2007, 2010 and 2014), Best Female Dancer at the Positano Dance Awards (2008 and 2011) and Best Female Dancer at the Benois de la Danse Award (2008).

Osipova has produced and presented two of her own shows, Mother (2018), choreographed by Arthur Pita; and Carmen (2022), choreographed by Didy Veldman

In 2019, Australian choreographer Meryl Tankard and the Adelaide Festival recreated the dance/drama Two Feet (1988) especially for her

In 2019 Osipova starred in the documentary film Force of Nature, directed by BAFTA winner Gerry Fox In 2021, she produced the first-ever collection of ballet NFTs

Osipova is the co-founder of the independent dance company Blooms Dance Project with Jason Kittelberger The project started with the idea of sharing dance works from Osipova’s career Its long-term goal is to create new works with a strong mix of dancers and creatives and to promote the art of dance to a wider audience by touring worldwide

Scottish dancer Reece Clarke is a Principal of The Royal Ballet. Clarke grew up in Airdrie, North Lanarkshire. Clarke entered White Lodge in 2006, where he received the award for Young British Dancer of the Year in 2012. He received the Emerging Artist Award at the 2016 National Dance Awards after joining The Royal Ballet.

Clarke’s appearances with the company have included Romeo (Romeo and Juliet), Prince Siegfried (Swan Lake), Albrecht (Giselle), Prince Florimund (The Sleeping Beauty), and The Prince (The Nutcracker), among numerous other roles. He created roles for Charlotte Edmonds’s Meta and Liam Scarlett’s Symphonic Dances

Jason Kittelberger hails from Rochester, New York. He studied ballet at the North Carolina School of the Arts, where he performed works by Twyla Tharp, George Balanchine, Carlos Orta, Lynne Taylor Corbett and Duncan Noble.

Kittelberger has performed with the Rochester City Ballet, Carolina Ballet, Hubbard Street II and the Cedar Lake Contemporary Ballet. He has also worked as assistant choreographer, rehearsal director and dancer alongside Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui in productions such as Fractus V with Eastman, Firebird with the Stuttgart Ballet, and Harbor Me with the L.A. Dance Project. His interest in commercial work has led him to train actors such as Emily Blunt and Benedict Cumberbatch. His recent projects include a music video for Depeche Mode directed by Anton Corbijn.

Kittelberger currently works as a freelance choreographer and performer, creating works with Sadler's Wells and The Royal Opera House. He is also the director and co-founder of Bloom Dance Project.

Robbie Moore is a celebrated dancer with extensive experience in the United States and internationally. Moore started dancing at the age of six in Houston, Texas, where he attended the High School for the Performing and Visual Arts. He then graduated from The Juilliard School in 2014. Moore toured internationally with L.A. Dance Project, under the direction of Benjamin Millepied, from 2015-17. In 2017, he moved to Belgium to work for Eastman - Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui. Moore has performed with Opera Ballet Vlaanderen (2018-2020) and Ballet du Grand Théâtre de Genève (2022).  Moore continues to work with Eastman as a dancer and rehearsal director on opera, dance, fashion and film projects.

Jacopo Tissi was born in 1995 in Landriano, Italy. At the age of 10, he entered Accademia Teatro alla Scala.

After graduating in 2014, he joined the Vienna State Opera Ballet. In the 2015/2016 season, he joined the corps de ballet of Teatro alla Scala, where he made his debut in the world premiere of Alexy Ratmansky's Sleeping Beauty.

In 2017, Tissi became the first Italian dancer to join the Bolshoi Ballet. During his first season there, he was promoted to First Soloist and performed more than 10 main roles in ballets such as Swan Lake, The Nutcracker and La Bayadère In 2021, he was promoted to Principal Dancer.

In 2018, Tissi was awarded the Ambrogino d’oro, the highest honour given by the city of Milan. In 2019, he was awarded the Premio Positano.

In recent years, Tissi has widened his classical and modern repertoire. He is currently the Guest Principal Dancer at Teatro alla Scala.
