「其後」是第44 屆香港藝術節的主題。世界正值多事之秋，香港亦處非常時期，個人或政治的抉擇有何影響？巧言巧語為何能收攬人心？妥協和抗爭帶來甚麼不一樣的後果？這些都是今屆藝術節許多節目所企求探討的。「其後」亦體現於藝術傳承和創新：香港藝術節節目琳琅滿目、各適其適，經典不朽之作固然不缺，也有破舊立新的大膽之作，以及糅合傳統與創新之作。
今期《閱藝》刊載涵蓋本屆藝術節多個節目的文章，力求探索以上問題，冀望讀者於二、三月觀賞演出時更添樂趣。
