weddings & civil ceremonies Make the moment exactly how you want it, without compromise.

Indoor Civil Ceremonies All our main reception rooms are licensed for civil ceremonies, from the Jacobean panelled Great Hall, the hand muralled ceiling in the Yellow Room, the book lined Library and the airy Diamond Room. You can even have a Romeo and Juliet balcony wedding in the main stairwell.

Outdoor Civil Ceremonies Whether it is under the Old Dovecote with a sky full of stars or on the West Terrace drenched in sunlight under the archway or the main entrance your ceremony will be wonderful.

You can even have Humanist ceremonies anywhere in the grounds. You can even change your mind on the day if the weather does something unexpected.

Church Weddings and Blessings There are many beautiful churches and Cathedrals of all denominations nearby. There is even the local village Church of England church on the driveway, just an 800meter walk, where many people have had blessings or wedding ceremonies before coming back to Huntsham Court for their reception. Some clients have even done both having a civil ceremony at the house, and a small religious blessing ceremony in the church.

Events & Banqueting

It’s not just what you do but how you do it that makes it unforgettably you…

Formal and Fancy We have 5 grand reception rooms, all totally flexible to be laid out as you need as drawing rooms, banqueting rooms or for receptions and ceremonies. Porters can even be arranged to move things around as and when you want. Our huge supplier’s network celebrates the best of the SW so you can have Michelin star chefs, 5 star silver service or even resident cooks and staff so you don’t lift a finger.

Casual and Cosy Some guests prefer some or all of their stay to be more informal, so they schedule some support help for washing up and clearing but then get a big supermarket delivery or some Dinner at the Door options form our suppliers network, such as mobile pizza ovens, Devon street food, hog roasts or a pop up fish and chip van.

Dress Up, dress down – its all about the flavour of your gathering.

Dancing DJs, Bands & Jams - We have an entertainment licence so you can have whatever music you like, in any reception room that tickles your fancy; from smooth lounge in the library, a knees up piano sing along in the bar, to transforming the Great Hall into a super club, or even a Cailedh

Drinking We are licensed for a pay bar but often clients like to run a free bar or discount bar to just break even - whatever you fancy we work with you to make it your style, for your budget. You can even bring your own drinks with NO corkage, no storage fees. Don’t forget all our amazing suppliers too from a vintage VW pop up coffee shop to the Cocktail Caravan or a 1960s Citroën Tea Shop Van.

Downtime Doing Nothing .… with your most important people: Creating those unforgettable moment when you catch up with friends, soak in the atmosphere or a have giggle with family over a pot of tea in your PJs in the Great Hall.

Or you can pack it all: from spa treatments, on site activities, and local excursions – you’ll run out of time before you run out of things to do: Where do we start: massage, fencing, yoga, archery, beauty treatments, paintball, cookery school, quad biking, hill walking, fishing, manicures…..

Our Team Chris Chris is one of the owners of Huntsham Court and is most likely to take your call or respond to your enquiry. He is keen to ensure that your experience of booking and then using the house is the best it can be. You are likely to get a personal tour when you view the house and he is always available to answer questions about every aspect of your stay.

Damian Damian is the other owner of the house. He oversees design and interiors at Huntsham Court and uses his creative flair in conjunction with the rest of the team to ensure that the house is exactly how you want it for your event.

Clair Clair is also one of our country house wedding team and a wonderful event planner with the added benefit of first-hand experience of organising her own wedding at Huntsham Court. Her enthusiasm for the house is infectious and her understanding of it means that she can deal with all of the practicalities of your stay, leaving you and your guests to enjoy yourselves. Clair worked at Skibo Castle in the Scottish Highlands and subsequently has lived and worked in Somerset and Devon for the last ten years.

Her knowledge of the area enables her to suggest

suppliers and activities which can make your stay special and unique. Clair will happily deal with any of your queries and questions. Should you like her to co-ordinate your country house wedding or party in person or become your event or wedding planner, she can work with you for a separate fee.

Deby Deby joined us as a freelance Event Consultant and Planner. She has over 17 years event management experience, working for a major music company in London. Deby has organised a wide portfolio of high profile events all over the world, and brings a wealth of experience and has a great ability to help deliver amazing events, that run incredibly smoothly and come in within the budget the client sets. Not just that, but she also organised her very own Devon wedding weekend here at Huntsham and has a real love for the house.

Petra Petra is a wonderful freelance Event Planner who is an intrinsic part the team here at Huntsham. She combines years of experience owning and running her own restaurant in Taunton and organising innumerable parties and large gatherings. Just for starters, she’s a fluent German speaker with a degree in Food Science and she knows the house inside

out. When it comes to events she brings out her natural flair for organising and is meticulous about the planning, always ensuring every event runs perfectly.

Rosie Rosie has worked in the hospitality and tourism sector for most of her working life. She has been a senior tour leader for a specialist travel company and has a wealth of experience in helping people organise and enjoy leisure activities. She works with White Tiger PR and helps us out with our press and marketing, as well as preparing the house for events.

The Invisibles We have a wonderful team of experienced housekeepers, gardeners, maintenance persons and decorators who are busy making sure the house is perfect and loved. Never forgotten and always appreciated, they are the camera shy dynamo behind the scenes making sure the house is ready to become your home.

Stick the Fiddle – Ceilidh Band A ceilidh is great entertainment for your wedding or special occasion. We are a three-piece band with caller, experienced and skilled in providing lively, foot-tapping music and fun dances for everyone. We can also provide background music.

By Road: Huntsham Court enjoys excellent road and rail links. When you leave Jnc 27 of the M5 you are on winding country roads within minutes and twelve minutes later you will have arrived at the House. Directions by road are downloadable on our ‘Download’ page and with a SatNav our postcode should bring you to the door.

By Train: Tiverton Parkway is a mainline rail station situated right next to Jnc 27 of the M5 and is also a twelve minute drive to the House. It has excellent regional connections as well as a 2hr London express service.

By Air: Helicopters can also land on site (weather permitting) and there is a private airstrip three miles away where we can arrange landing and parking if needed. Nearest major airports are Bristol Airport (50mins) and Exeter Airport (30mins).
