The story of the Hippo Roller!
Moms and dads, brothers and sisters and grandparents too carrywater on their heads in buckets or barrels just to make do.
In this place there are no water faucets, showers or even a sink.
Doesn’t that really make you stop and think ?
Everybody, everywhere needs water for the things they do, like bathing, cooking, gardening and drinking too!
So, in this place where water is hard to carry from here to there, two friends said, “We have an idea we’d like to share!”Johan Jonker Pettie Petzer
The friends tried to create something to carry in less time.
But, it took lots of hard work to invent the perfect design!
They tried many different ways of rolling water around, but it was hard to make anything that could move on uneven ground!
After trying lots of different ways they finally saw... that making a water barrel a wheel was the smartest idea of all!
the friends attached a handle to a ater barrel and it worked so swell. Now, everyone, everywhere can easily fetch water from the well!
So,
Because hippos live in water and have tough, thick skin...
“Hippo Roller is the perfect name!”, the friends said with a grin.
