WELCOME

This year’s spring offering from the MP Brangus program is an exciting one to say the very least. Our bull sale is led off by a full brother to MP Electric 804M13, your 2024-2025 show bull of the year; an honor he captured as just a yearling. In the past few months he was named Grand Champion at the 2025 Cattlemen’s Congress and Reserve at the 2025 International Show in Houston back in early March. Rest assure this set of bulls has been rigorously culled on for disposition, feet quality and fertility. Currently we are seeing the feeder calf market reach a price point that reminds us all of prosperous times similar to a few years ago. With optimism in mind, we put together an exceptional set of females from the heart of our program. The females are highlighted by some of our most proven cow families that rivals any offering this spring. This program is built around strong cow lines and unique phenotypes that should be sought after by any program. The continued focus on multiplying those genetics from cow families like 804,150 and 38 is quite evident in this year’s offering. As we turn the page on 2024 to welcome 2025, we are flushing and transferring as many embryos as we ever have here at MP Brangus. Doing this has not only allowed us to grow numbers but more importantly we are offering females this year that we would have been reluctant to turn loose of in prior sales. Your purchase this spring will be one you can make with a new level of confidence. The MP program is dedicated to customer satisfaction and pushing to new heights of consistent quality.
See you on sale day!

Old school pedigree with a dominant phenotype. You won’t see many Masterplan daughters offered to the public these days, they are scattered around the country and are a hot commodity!! This female is backed by the 88 cow family, the same lineage produced the breed legend Doguet’s Hercules 88S3. These genetics never go out of style, this is perhaps the most proven package in this year’s offering.
MP MISS MAYBE 52J1
We are really proud of this set of breds we are bringing to you this spring. Leading off this years set is an Avalanche daughter that traces back to the 52 cow family at Indian Hills. She is elite in her front 1/3, bold in center body and flawless at the ground. This mating to our past International Champion MP Magnum 804J65 is one that you can expect to pay for the purchase of the cow at weaning time.

MP MR WEATHERMAN 804M3
This springs bull sale offering is led off by a full brother and flush mate to the Reserve Grand Champion Bull at the 2025 International Brangus Show in Houston. His sire, GKB Perfect Storm was a back to back show bull of the year who claimed Grand Champion honors 7 times in two years. His dam is a direct daughter of the historic DDD Ms Barbara 804Y61 who is a past International champion as well. Much like his full brother, MP Mr Weatherman 804M3 is impressive from every angle. This herd sire prospect combines a pedigree and phenotype that will rival any offered to the public this spring.

When you think about a pedigree that embodies the MP program this is what should come to mind. Sling Shot’s dam been one of the big impact females here at MP from the very beginning. Her show career certainly made her a household name, but her production since making her way to the donor pen is what will make her famous for generations. The fact that his dam is a full sister to the DDD Final Source 38D21 and direct daughter of 38W5 should be a clear indicator that the bottom side of this pedigree is STRONG. His sire, MP Mr Magnum 804J65 was crowned International Grand Champion in 2023 and his influence within our program is undeniable. He is stamping his progeny with a can’t miss combination of power, performance and style. This herd sire prospect has big time potential and is backed by a bulletproof pedigree.

Once again the 38 cow family finds its way to the top of the bull offering. Each year we are in search of genetics outside of our program that can make an immediate impact. We sampled the $60,000 CB Longmire 1062H12 bull after we saw him working at Villa ranch and the results have exceeded our expectations. The maternal strength in this pedigree is anchored by the 38 cow family, his maternal grandam is the 38X5 cow that has been one of the more influential females in the breed. Lot 102 offers a blend of cutting edge genetics with one of the rising stars here at MP.

EPD EXPLANATION
Registration Number: Bulls noted with “R” number are Registered Brangus. Those noted with a “UB” number are Ultra-Blacks, indicat-ing they are a Brangus-Angus blend. Those noted as UB2 are second cross Ultrablacks. “AX” recorded bulls are appendix registered purebred Brangus that have non-typical Brangus color pattern.
Polled/Scurred/Horned: Denotes bulls that are either smooth polled or have the presence of scurs or slick spots. Those bulls noted as “scurs” typically have had scurs removed post-weaning. Horned bulls have presence or horns.
Genetic Conditions (GC): Indicates genetic condition status with “Free” indicating tested free or pedigree free of currently known genetic conditions. Prefixes noted with a “C” indicate that given animal carries a non-lethal recessive gene for that given condition.
INDIVIDUAL MEASURES
Birth Weight (Act. BW): Actual weight at birth, expressed in pounds.
Scrotal Circumference (Adj. SC): Testicular circumference, measured in centimeters, and adjusted to 365 days of age.
EXPECTED PROGENY DIFFERENCE
Genomic Enhanced Expected Progeny Difference (GE-EPD) : The genetic predictor of how future progeny of each animal are expected to perform relative to the progeny of other animals listed in the breed database. These EPDs through DNA technology are genomically enhanced for more reliability and higher accuracy levels.
Percentile Ranks: Ranks each given GE-EPD trait against the breed population for non-parent animals, active sires or active dams and expressed as a percentage ranking in that population. As an example, 1% is higher than 50%.GE-EPD Accuracy: Since all bulls selling in this catalog are non-parent, their accuracies are the lowest calculated by our national sire evaluation program.
Heifer Pregnancy (H Preg): Predicts the probability that a female will have a calf as a two-year-old. Expressed as a % with the higher number more desirable.
Stayability (Stay): Measures the probability that a cow will still be in the herd at six years of age. With the higher number being more desirable.
Terminal Index (Term): Evaluates a sire for use on mature cows with all offspring put on feed and sold in a terminal end point scenario. The higher the number, the more desirable.
Fertility Index (Fert): Developed for cattle raised in a general-purpose production system to produce reproductively sound replacement females or bulls that will sire reproductively sound replacement females.
Calving Ease Direct (CED): Expressed as a percentage and indicates the influence of the animal on calving ease in females calving at 2 years of age. The higher the number the more desirable for calving ease.
Weaning Weight EPD (WW): Expressed in pounds, is a predictor of an animal’s ability to transmit weaning growth to its progeny.
Yearling Weight EPD (YW): Expressed in pounds, is a predictor of an animal’s ability to transmit yearling growth to its progeny.
Milk EPD (Milk): Predicts a sire’s genetic merit for milk and mother-ing ability as expressed in his daughters compared to daughters of other sires. In other words, it is that part of a calf’s weaning weight attributed to milk.
Total Maternal EPD (TM): Expressed in pounds, a genetic predictor of weaning weight by blending a combination of maternal milk and weaning weight value.
Scrotal Circumference EPD (SC): Measured in centimeters at a year-ling time, predicts testicular size.
Ribeye Area (REA): Expressed in square inches, is a predictor of transmitting ability of ribeye size and overall muscle mass which is a key component in USDA yield grades.
Intramuscular Fat (IMF): Expressed as a percentage, is a predictor of transmitting ability for marbling or intra-muscular fat correlating to USDA quality grade at harvest time.
GE-EPD VALUES & PARENT VERIFICATION
By sale time we will have a complete set of GE-EPD values for every bull and it will be noted on a supplement sheet. Nearly every bull has current GE-EPD values and more than 90% of the females have current GE-EPD values. Every animal in the sale will be sire verified and if something is missing this will also be noted on sale day supplement sheets.
MULTIPLE SIRES IN OUR BREEDING HERD
Most of our females have been naturally exposed with two natural service sires. We continue to determine the viability of profitability of running multiple sires during breeding season and then DNA calves for sire determination. Interesting and continuing project to determine which particular sire in a given group has the desire and ability to rule his pasture. The resulting natural service sired calves from these sale females will have to have DNA samples sent to labs for sire verification.

DR. GARY WARNER & DR. JACOB WARNER
Dear Buyers,
Jacob and I would like to thank the Perry family for the opportunity to provide the breeding soundness evaluations for their sale offering. Each sale lot being offered has met the standards set for breeding soundness as prescribed by the Society for Theriogenology and criteria established over 40 years of practice experience at Elgin Veterinary Hospital. These cattle have been developed with industry needs in consideration and are expected to perform well for any management strategy that they may be exposed to. Our evaluation not only assesses fertility, but other attributes such as structure and conditioning. This is so that the producer has the opportunity to buy cattle that can be put out to pasture and perform as expected. MP Brangus follows our recommended vaccination protocols as well as deworming recommendations for the entire herd. If there is any questions or interest in these recommended protocols, please feel free contact us. We are honored to have the chance to serve the cattle industry.
