ALUMNI ACTIVITIES

Y'S Men Club of Hindustan Youth in association with Y'S Men Club of Mylapore & Y'S Men Club of Chennai OMR celebrated Diwali by distributing sweets to needy people at Irular Colony, Thiruporur on 26 Oct. 2019. Rotaract Club celebrated Diwali at differently abled people’s Home in Padur village. The team spent their time by entertaining them with songs and dance followed by distribution of books to the children. Team also presented them sweets, gifts and helped them for medical expenses. The event was sponsored by Rotary Club of Chennai Capital.

NSS Cell organized a series of event in view of Swachh Pakhwada Week as per UGC’s instructions. Hostel cleaning drive and campus cleaning drive was conducted on 21 Jan. 2020. The mass Swachh Pledge was taken by more than 300 students on 22 Jan. 2020 at Open Air Theatre, HITS.

16. Lumos Maxima

Rotaract Club conducted a session to improve the knowledge on a PowerPoint Presentation and presentation skills at Anna University along with the Rotaract club of Madras on 8 Dec. 2019. Totally 147 students benefited out of this event and the event was sponsored by the Rotary Club of Chennai Capital.

17. Give Thanks

Rotaract Club organized 'Give Thanks" on 28 Nov. 2019. It is an online event in which the people can drop their thanks messages to someone who helped them in their life. The team received 3019 messages and all the messages were delivered to the concern people.

Mr. K. Gnanasekaran, NSS Coordinator and Mr. K. Viswanathan, Head HTBI attended a Workshop on “Socially Relevant Technical Education: Exploring Cooperation-oriented Actions" on 6 and 7 Dec. 2019 at NITTR, Chennai. The event was organized by IIIT Sri city along with NITTR, Chennai for the benefit of Unnat Bharat Abhiyan Coordinators.

Rotaract Club celebrated Christmas with lots of joy and happiness with the God gifted children. The team spent good time in their home by conducting some activities and distributing gifts to the children over there. The gift consisted of pen, colour pencils, geometry box, note book, and basic things for their education.

20. Republic Day Celebrations and Gram Sabha

Mr. Gnanasekaran, Unnat Bharat Abhiyan Coordinator and students attended the Gram Sabha at Padur and Illalur village on 26 Jan. 2019. The major problems faced by the villages were discussed and recorded for future plan to resolve the issue. Republic Day was celebrated in Illalur Primary School where mementos were distributed to the teachers.
