DEPARTMENT ACHIEVEMENTS

• Achieved 4-star rating with MHRD – IIC.

• Hosted PALS Tinkathon: A one day workshop on problem solving on 29 Aug. 2019. A total of 150 students from 7 Engineering Colleges in Chennai (VIT, Sairam, SVCE, KCG,

ALPHA, RI, and HITS) participated in the workshop. Problem statements were given by

PALS team to students for them to plan, design and build prototypes.

• Hosted Regional Convention of AICTE Chaatra 3rd Vishwakarma Awards 2019 on 18 Dec.

A total of 105 teams from various institutions in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry exhibited their product under 8 different categories like Waste Management, Energy, Farm and Flock, Land,

Livelihood, Water etc., for evaluation. Felicitations were given by Mr. Ramesh, Dy. Director,

AICTE.

• Hindustan Innovation Challenge 2020: The challenge was initiated to the students of HITS and have received 120 Ideas with student’s participation of around 720. Online of Review has been initiated with the Panel of Jury.

• Faculty Coordinators of MHRD – IIC achieved Certification for attending 17 Leadership

Talks back-to-back by MHRD, Govt of India.

• Two Teams were selected for Finals of Smart India HACKTHON 2020.

HTBI START UPS ACHIEVEMENTS

• Aero2Astro organized MAYVI - Make Your Vimana, a 24-hour RC Plane Building National

Competition on 5 & 6 Oct. 2019. A total of 250 students participated in the event at MGR

Hall, HITS. Mr. S. K. Shankar, Asst. Prof., CSE & E Cell Coordinator; and Mr. K. Nanda

Kumar Asst. Prof., EEE were coordinators for the event.

• Aero2Astro is working with government officials for the campaigning against COVID -19 in

Chengalpattu and Coimbatore on drone surveillance and announcements.

• Dronoid Aerospace Pvt. Ltd., attained below credits: o Got selected in Indian Force Drone completion. o Indian patent was granted in Wind Energy. o R&D work in progress on high endurance drones, firefighting drones and drone taxi.

• QS Techno Solutions have received the following award:

o “Young Entrepreneur Award” in the Achievers Meet and Award Function conducted in association with MHRD-IIC on 2 Sept. 2019.

o “Award for Best Pitching” in My Story Innovators’ Life & Crossword Motivation conducted in association with MHRD-IIC on 16 Sept. 2019.

• An Android APP was developed for the Client Way2Workers for their business operations to be carried out in this Pandemic COVID-19.

• National Automation and Design Solutions (NADS) have successfully completed the following projects: o Control cabins in Moving Docks. o Plant Design Validation Systems. o Automation in Highly Compressible Door Reliability Testing. o SU-30(MKI) Fuel System and Tank Pressurization System Development (HALNASHIK).

• Way2Workers has signed contract with the following clients in Andhra Pradesh: o House Remodelling o Event Management – Marriage o AC Repairs/Contactor provider for all Household essentials.

• JATAYU made record of innovating the first flying bike in Asia Book of Records.

STAFF ACHIEVEMENTS

• Mr. S. K. Shankar, Asst. Prof., CSE & Coordinator, E Cell was invited as Jury panel for judging The Singapore India Hackathon 2019’ from 28 to 30 Sept. 2019.

• In IICDC contest powered by AICTE organized by TI, DST and IIM Bangalore 30 teams mentored by 8 faculties participated in the contest

• Mr. S K Shankar and Dr M K Badri Narayanan, HoD, SoM developed a software for HTBI

HEIC (HTBI TRACKER) for the benefit of students to get tracked about their performance in

Innovations & also Events Attended/Participated with the help of Ms. Anuradha Moorthy on

Testing Phase.

• Mr. S K Shankar & Student Team developed a software for Research Department, for monitoring the progression of Research Scholars in HITS through Digitally.
