What a year 2024 has been so far - and it’s only March! In this edition of our newsletter, join us as we reflect on the year’s stories so far, and what the next chapter has in store.
As well as providing the day-to-day support for our community in at the food bank, we hosted a truly unique fundraiser. In the run up to Ramadan, a month of reflection and charity, our community came together and rais over £60,000.
IN THE SPIRIT OF GIVING
A FUNDRAISER LIKE NO OTHER
Our Ramadan event had all the ingredients of a wonderful night: entertainment, food, laughter.
But the best part of the recipe?
This event was fuelled by community spirit. Together, we raised tens of thousands for those most vulnerable to food poverty.
On the night we had a special fundraiser where donors could pledge to feed those in need for a year. One generous donor pledged £10,000 there and then!
That’s a promise to feed 10 people for a whole year. That means not worrying where your next meal is coming from, or choosing between eating and heating your home.
Over 60,000 raised!
At the end of the evening, we walked away with more than just bellies sore from laughter (and some very good food) but also with the knowledge that our community is willing to come together and give back.
