Our lift, escalator and façade access engineers work with building owners and managers to review lifecycle plans which identify maintenance needs and upgrades as part of modernisation works– fundamental in the management of services and the best way to avoid disruptive surprises.
Working with operators and maintenance teams in the design and development phases, we can specify the best materials and systems to simplify and reduce building maintenance requirements, by using less water, energy and toxic chemicals, being easier to clean, cost-effective in operation and with reduced lifecycle costs.
In existing buildings, noise management is often a challenge so we apply our knowledge, creative problem-solving and precision testing to solve acoustical issues for clients. Our insight is critical in plant replacement where we provide analysis to ensure new plant does not contravene local authority planning requirements.
From simple RRO risk assessments to comprehensive documents detailing the interaction between various systems, we offer a service that bridges the gap between fire strategy on paper and systems at work, to ensure efficient and safe fire protection for owners, managers and occupants.

Facilities Focus: ESOS
S
Mike Freed, ESOS Lead Assessor & Sustainability Project Director at Hilson Moran explains ESOS & why it should be on your facilities management agenda for 2015. What is ESOS? The Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme (ESOS) requires large UK organisations to measure energy consumption and undertake audits to identify where energy savings could be made. The scheme takes into account the whole operation of the organisation; including buildings, industrial processes and transport. Does ESOS effect my organisation? If, on the 31st December 2014, your UK organisation; • had 250 employees or more, or • had an annual turnover exceeding €50m and a balance sheet exceeding €43m, then ESOS applies to you and your organisation needs to undertake the necessary energy audits to become compliant. What are the benefits? Undertaking energy audits makes sound financial, environmental and reputational sense. The adage that ‘You cannot manage what you do not measure’ is true for energy consumption and cost; ESOS encourages organisations to make intelligent and strategic decisions to inform their future Energy Management Strategy. What is involved in achieving Compliance? A typical timeline:
