FP Archive: 100 Years Ago
100 years ago, the world was at War. The High School continues to cherish its remembrance of those who fought to defend their country.

Below are excerpts from a 1915 school magazine, which detail the experiences of a former pupil, Captain Norman R. Taylor of the 5th Black Watch, who was sent to the front. The featured image is of the High School at parade, taken from the Courier buildings in August 1914.
Our archive holds a great number of diverse items including school registers, magazines, prospectuses, prize lists, photographs, medals, and programmes.
These items are not presently accessible to the public, but the new centre of excellence for performing and visual arts will provide a dedicated location from which we can display items from our archive for visitors to view. Below is a small selection. Pictured, right to left in descending order, are a 1966 tennis team, a merit medal from 1952, a 1951-52 dux medal for Mathematics, a cast photo from 1980’s production of Patience, and a 1986 picture of an unknown form group. We would be delighted to hear from anyone who can help us identify the former pupils in these images.
