The School Today

House Reports Airlie

Aystree

We have decided to go with Airlie Avengers as our name and Iron Man as our mascot this year.

Aystree has always been a strong House and have won the House Shield two years running. Obviously, we will continue to have this confidence going into and throughout this year.

We made this decision for a number of reasons. The first being that the Avengers are a symbol of power and intimidation, two factors that Airlie possess. It is these characteristics which will help us win the House Shield and defeat all of the other competing Houses. Airlie consists of pupils who will not only fight for what we believe in but also pupils who bring value and character to the school such as their representing mascot. The coming year will ultimately not be the same as previous years, but we, as Airlie Captains, are confident that we will be able to bring everyone together and make sure that every Airlie pupil is safe and comfortable in the changing school environment. In terms of our chances of winning the Shield, we would be over the moon to win this year and we are all confident that by next summer Airlie will be victorious. Currently, Airlie have competed in the recent House Hockey and Rugby fixtures with a solid win in the F4-6 Girls House Hockey, a 4th in F2-3 Girls House Hockey and joint third in F1 Mixed House Hockey. During our Rugby fixtures, we achieved a joint 2nd in our F1-2 House Rugby and a 3rd in F3-4 House Rugby. Unfortunately, due to the current circumstances that Covid-19 has brought us this year, we are unable to participate in House Events that would normally take place, such as House Choir and the Swimming Gala. However, this will not hinder Airlie from losing our positive team spirit in upcoming House events as we will continue to carry an enthusiastic drive to win each event we partake in. As Senior Prefects, we have been asked to brainstorm a number of Covid friendly House events that could take place this year, including a Bake Off, Photography Competition and Kahoot! We feel confident in all of the Airlie pupils and cannot wait to get involved in the different, yet exciting, House events that await us this coming year. We have great strengths in all areas of the School and our fingers are crossed that the Swimming Gala can go ahead as Aystree have been continuously strong with our swim teams. This year we have decided to name ourselves the Aystree Eagles, as we feel that there are many admirable attributes of eagles. These include being brave and bold, making clever and tactical decisions. Eagles are also very nurturing and caring of their young, showing they have a passionate and loving side. We hope we can spread our wings and soar over the competition this session. Aystree House Captains: Melissa Mitchell & Innes Chalmers Aystree House Vice-Captains: Hamish Findlay & Shona Graham
