Freshen UpYour Indoor Spaces This Fall When cold winter days keep you inside, you may find yourself bored with your surroundings. Waiting for the sun to make its next appearance can provide the perfect opportunity to give your indoor spaces a fresh and appealing mini makeover. Even if your budget is tight, you can still make small changes to transform a room. Consider these ideas: 16
www.HighRiseLife.com
Courtesy of Family Features Bring stylish flair to your space with a new color scheme. Rather than replacing all the furniture, which can be costly, focus on smaller accessory pieces such as pillows and decorative items. Create variety by using multiple hues of the same color or mixing two or more complementary colors. Introduce new accent furniture. Smaller and less cost-prohibitive than centerpieces like a couch, for example, accent pieces such as end tables or a coffee table can provide subtle changes to the look of a room. You could also opt to refinish a piece of furniture you have on-hand to create a look that’s all your own. Morph your room by simply rearranging what you already own. Adjusting September 2021
the orientation of your furniture and decor can let you see your favorite room from a whole new perspective. Whether it’s a flea market find, such as an old window frame that you paint and add a display shelf to the base, or a series of photos from your favorite vacation destination, adding some DIY art can not only update your room, but make it more personal, too. A new look for your favorite room can go a long way toward chasing away those winter blahs, so find ways to update your space for a cozy retreat that you can enjoy despite the cold weather raging outdoors. Eight Lounge Dynamic cigar bar will offer more than 150 premium cigars, including exclusive and limited-edition smokes 20

E
ight Lounge, a state-of-the-art cigar & spirits lounge will light up Las Vegas beginning this fall. Located at Resorts World Las Vegas, the newest property to be built on the Strip in over a decade, Eight will offer premier hand-rolled cigars & spirits in a comfortable environment that’s both stylish, contemporary and vibrant. With over 150 different cigars, Eight will carry tobacco products exclusive to its custom-built walk-in humidor. Limited edition cigars will also litter the cigar vault, giving guests the chance to try once-in-a-lifetime cigars. In addition to its smoke selection, Eight’s cocktail program is second-to-none, as bartenders carefully perfect time-honored and modernized cocktails to pair with guest’s cigar of choice. Acting as “cigar sommeliers,” Eight’s mixologists will be well-versed in the flavor profiles of premium tobaccos, giving them the innate ability to complement smokes with a spirit. Adding to the allure, temperaturecontrolled lockers will be available for members only, the perfect stowaway to preserve spirits and cigars. Eight has left no stone unturned in its design, even recognizing the importance and symbolism the number has in Chinese culture. The number, which is thought as infinite in East Asia, is incorporated into the lounge and humidor, which is divided into eight sections. The new lounge is a concept created by entrepreneur Giuseppe Bravo and David Chesnoff, partner and celebrity attorney. The two first united to launch Las Vegas’ premier ticket

broker, Bravo Tickets. Now they embark on their second joint venture teaming up with Clique Hospitality as their managing partner. The deep tufted couches and dark wood trimming give an air of refinement, sophistication and masculinity, while the brightly lit bar-length chandelier and subtle pops of color emanate femininity. Further maintaining the clean aesthetic, an ultramodern filtration system refreshes air every four minutes to keep air clean, fresh and constantly flowing. “Eight’s uniqueness will be intriguing to cigar aficionados and novices,” said John Pettei, managing partner. “We’re shredding the clichés and stigmas associated with cigars— the old man in the smoky room — and bringing sophistication and sexiness back.” “Eight is not your average cigar lounge, we are breaking barriers and bringing the highest level of service and hospitality to the luxurious hotel and casino that is Resorts World Las Vegas,” said Giuseppe Bravo. “With over 150 different cigars sourced from around the globe along with its lavish furniture, Eight is the perfect place to escape for a well-earned smoke.” While Eight’s interior serves as the heartbeat of the bar, the 2,300-square-foot outdoor patio complete with a tranquil fireplace and a misting and heating trellis — acts as a sanctuary and provides a respite from the frenzy of the casino. The bar’s brilliance will also be in its adaptability, as a noticeable but seamless transition will take place as the day turns to night at which time the lounge will shift from a classic cigar bar to a lively indoor-outdoor “cigar friendly” lounge catering to those looking to smoke or meet up over a cocktail.

Kumoi Modern Japanese Fusion Cuisine at Four Seasons Hotel Guangzhou 22

B
orn in Seoul, Korea, Chef Keneth always had a deep appreciation of Japanese food and as soon as he completed his military service, he pursued his dream of a career in Japanese culinary art. Tokyo was his first destination and although he could not read or speak Japanese, he studied the language by day and worked in a restaurant in the evenings. His hard work and determination gained respect from his colleagues, and he was applauded by the head chef, who in turn offered him an opportunity to learn traditional Kaiseki cuisine. Following many years of rigorous training in Kaiseki cuisine, Chef Keneth is adamant that unrelenting attention to detail is fundamental when preparing Japanese cuisine. Chef Keneth moved from Japan in 1997 to Chef Nobu Matsuhisa’s original London restaurant. Nobu, famous for globalizing Japanese cuisine, was an exciting opportunity and his experience in London afforded him a completely new perspective on Japanese cuisine. The magic of incorporating local flavors and ingredients was a key learning milestone in Chef Keneth’s career in London, which today still impacts his overall style. Chef Keneth continued his globetrotting adventures working in luxury hotels in the Middle East followed by the British West Indies, before arriving in China in late 2020. He is excited to launch his new menu at Kumoi, featuring a strong Kaiseki influence combined with elements and techniques from diverse cultures.
Some highlights of the new menu include Pumpkin chawanmushi, a classic appetizer with a modern twist. The mini pumpkin assumes the role of a teacup. Its ample golden shade is just right for autumn, a season of harvest. The pumpkin’s natural sweet taste compliments the savory egg custard elevated by a lobster consommé. Chef Keneth dresses up this dish with a touch of spicy seafood paste, which gives this gentle entrée a distinctive Cantonese character. King bull wagyu beef hoba-yaki, another signature dish, inspired by the rustic and natural cooking methods practiced in the mountains of Central Japan. The locals use a dried hoba, the dried leaf of honoki - a magnolia leaf - as a vessel for cooking meat in white miso. Chef Keneth adopts a hoba presentation to create the ambience of a serene autumn mountain landscape combined with ancient forests, illuminated by sunlight with a gentle mist rising from the ground. A medium marbled beef of domestic wagyu, famous for its high quality, is selected for the grill and accompanied by a fruity yuzu (pomelo) miso dip to neutralize its rich flavor.
Salmon carpaccio, black truffle and ponzu sauce; and truffle foie gras roll, barbecued eel, chives, sweet soy and truffle salsa are two dishes with Chef Keneth’s unmistakable fusion style. The ponzu dressing served with the salmon carpaccio is made with Japanese citrus vinegar and bears a strong resemblance to ceviche, a household favorite in South America. The tantalizing combination of the salmon carpaccio and the ponzu dressing, accented with the truffles, is memorable. For the truffle foie gras roll Chef Keneth deep-fries the sushi roll with a tempura batter, to offer an extra layer of texture. The sweet soy and truffle salsa create a dynamic flavor combination. our Seasons Resort and Club Dallas at Las Colinas is rounding out its team of exceptional culinary talent with the appointment of Nicholas Trosien as the new Executive Sous Chef. His Four Seasons career has taken him far and wide from Palm Beach and Singapore to Dubai and most recently, Toronto, before finding his home in the Lone Star State at Texas’ original urban resort. Trosien arrives ahead of a sizable impending renovation, which will allow him to tap into the experience he has gained at other Four Seasons properties around the world, and put his mark on the Las Colinas destination. His responsibilities include oversight of the signature restaurant LAW, dishing up fresh ingredients and bold flavours from the land, air and water of Texas; the Member’s Lounge at Four Seasons Golf and Sports Club; and OUTLAW Taproom, the indoor/outdoor modern saloon-style bar celebrating Texas musical legends with bourbon, burgers and local beer. From there, he began working for a James Beard awardwinning chef at multiple restaurants, eventually rising to head chef. One evening the Food & Beverage Director and Hotel Manager of Four Seasons Resort Palm Beach dined at Trosien’s restaurant and, duly impressed, invited him to prepare a tasting and check out the Resort. Add a Little Sweetness to Any
Occasion
It’s almost impossible to beat the combination of sweet fruit and decadent desserts. This delicious recipe for Apple Cake highlights the crisp fruit but also the cinnamon sugarflavored pastry. It’s luscious but doesn’t overdo it on the sweet meter with just the right mix of flavors. The cake is baked with the apples inside as the middle layer, which creates a moist, finished product. The apples are gooey, baked in a cinnamon sugar coating, making them a sweet and light complement to the perfectly baked cake. Start by mixing the apples with cinnamon and, of course, sugar. Set the mixture aside. Now it’s time for cake. First, mix all the dry ingredients together then mix in the wet ingredients. The secret to this cake is creating layers that will hold up. Pour half of the batter into a round springform pan first then add apple mixture and top it all with the rest of the cake batter. 30
Finally, for a little extra sweetness, sprinkle 1 tablespoon of sugar over the top of the cake before baking. Once baked, this cake can be drizzled with icing (if you’d like) to make it an even more delightful treat to satisfy any sweet tooth. This cake is perfect for any gettogether, families looking for an after-dinner indulgence or anyone who just loves fruity desserts. It’s delectable enough for fancy occasions, but also simple enough to make at home for just a couple. With fluffy cake layers and a soft apple center, this cake does it all. Not to mention the drip of icing at the end that all but guarantees everyone will be asking for seconds. Find more recipes and sweet desserts at Culinary.net, Courtesy of Family Features.

n 2019 the Blended Festival was held for the first time in San Diego and provided attendees a unique experience of wine, live music, dining, lifestyle, and wellness along the downtown San Diego waterfront. Finally, back again in 2021, except larger and expanded to two more cities, the Blended Festival returns to San Diego on October 15 and 16, 2021 for two days of curated experiences. Organized by My Wine Society, the festival is not just centered around live music but integrates a new wine experience curated by Executive Sommelier and Director of Wine, Matthew-Loren Lindsey. The Wine Tent is the centerpiece of the festival, and festival
goers will be able to try wines selected by Matthew from wineries around the world as well as local wine makers. “Often times people get in their comfort zone when it comes to wine with the fear of getting buyer’s remorse. At the\ Blended Festival, festival goers can try wines at varying wine bars including Taste of France, Taste of Italy, or Taste of San Diego,” said Matthew. “What makes this festival unique are the activations and high-level approach to how the wine is represented to the audience in attendance.”

owntown Miami’s highly anticipated mixed-use development, Legacy Hotel & Residences, today signed a record-breaking joint venture deal with Adventist Health called Blue Legacy Ventures (JV). The JV will lease and operate a first of its kind 120,000-square-foot health and well-being center. As one of the largest commercial leases to be executed in Downtown Miami’s history, the JV officially marks Adventist Health’s and its subsidiary Blue Zones’ next chapter in putting their longevity principles into practice via this first flagship center for well-being. The services will include diagnostic, surgical, medical, spa, fitness, lifestyle medicine and well-being improvement programming. The estimated $100 million, 10-floor center reflects all the parties’ shared vision to make Miami World center in Downtown Miami, and eventually Miami as a whole, the next Blue Zones community. California-based Adventist Health acquired Blue Zones in 2020 as a key step forward in their commitment to leading a 21st century well-being transformation movement that is rooted in their 150-year well-being heritage. The nonprofit integrated health system serves more than 80 communities on the West Coast and Hawaii through hospitals, medical clinics, payer partnerships and other care, health and well-being services. Blue Zones has a proven, research-based solution to improving well-
being of entire communities by making healthy choices easier in all the places people live, work, learn, pray and play. The company was born out of explorations and research done by National Geographic Fellow and Blue Zones founder Dan Buettner, who identified the blue zones hotspots around the world where people live extraordinarily long and happy lives. Blue Zones is recognized as the proven global leader in applying this research to transform entire populations by empowering people to live longer, healthier, happier lives, resulting in double digit drops in obesity and smoking rates, increases in activity and happiness, lowered healthcare costs and more. The JV will merge the best practices of hospitality and healthcare by leveraging RPC’s expertise in developing visionary properties with Adventist Health’s expertise in lifestyle medicine and Blue Zones’ experience in improving well-being by design. The Blue Zones Center will be the first place, built from the ground up, with a fully integrated well-being and medical center that focuses on keeping people well. At the integrated well-being and medical center, guests will have the ability to benefit from a lifestyle approach to medicine and an evidence-based approach to well-being therapies and treatments. There will be a unified approach to materials used, foods offered, physical designs implemented, storytelling, policies and programming—all designed to deepen and enrich the guest experience and create the optimal environment for higher well-being. Everyone can expect a fully immersive Blue Zones experience as they visit the Legacy Hotel & Residences where the healthy choice is the easy choice, from the building design encouraging moving naturally to the Blue Zones menus in onsite restaurants encouraging eating wisely, to the policies and programming encouraging people to connect more with each other and their purpose. Blue Zones programming will also benefit the wider Miami community, including an onsite farmers market, a curated voluntourism program, movement activation in downtown Miami’s planned 80-acre park system as well as the creation of the Blue Zones interactive Exploratorium. “Blue Zones has captured the imagination and attention of people all over the world for being a pioneer in improving the health of entire cities and helping us all get the most out of our years,” said Developer Dan Kodsi, Founder and CEO of RPC. “Now with The Blue Zones Center, their proven principles will come alive as hotel visitors will actually be able to see, touch, and live the Blue Zones lifestyle themselves for the very first time.” “This will be a more advanced way of addressing health, where the patient’s journey begins with a highly personalized medical evaluation by your physician, followed by a unique and customized high-tech and high touch program that utilizes all of the services within the center, including surgical, aesthetic, therapeutic, consultative, lifestyle coaching, well-being programming and more to keep people well and happy,” said Stephen Watson, Managing Partner of RPC Health, who envisioned and lead the development of the center. “We believe this combination of advanced diagnostics with lifestyle medicine and unparalleled personalized care will help members reach and sustain their optimal health.”
38
“The value proposition of the Blue Zones Center is to generate better performance and more good years. Embarking on a trailblazing project like this requires the right partners, and we’re impressed with the RPC leadership and team, who have been committed to co-innovating with us on this visionary project. The JV leverages our joint capabilities and competencies to combine our transformative model for creating optimal well-being with RPC’s expertise in forward-thinking development and placemaking,” said Ben Leedle, CEO of Blue Zones.” “Creating the first Blue Zones Center and integrated large-scale lifestyle medicine center marks our commitment to move beyond sick care,” said Bill Wing, President, Adventist Health. “It will also establish a model and lead the way to the fusion of care, health and well-being.” For more information, please visit bluezones.com.

San Diego’s Premier Music Venue Opens Written by Paolo Murano
They say if you put your ear against a shell, you’ll hear music. The Rady Shell at Jacobs Park is San Diego’s newest music venue and is the shape of a shell. It is also home to the San Diego Symphony and host to an eclectic mix of musical events. The Rady Shell at Jacobs Park stands along the Embarcadero in Downtown San Diego, where it is easily accessible from the Gaslamp Quarter, the San Diego Convention Center, Petco Park, Seaport Village, and the Hotel del Coronado. It is a 3.7-acre centerpiece park and event venue developed and managed by the San Diego Symphony on the city’s scenic waterfront. It is the first permanent outdoor venue in the orchestra’s century-long history. 42
Designed to host more than 100 concerts and events year-round while offering 360-degree views of downtown, the marina, and the bay, the project has been developed in partnership with the Unified Port of San Diego with 96% of the $85 million cost raised privately by the Symphony. The Rady Shell provides a 4,800 square-foot stage sheltered within a canopy designed with highly advanced acoustical and lighting systems. The 1.25-acre audience area provides flexible seating for as many as 10,000 listeners. The Future Museum Science and Fiction designed by ATELIER BRÜCKNER In the center of Nuremberg’s historic district, “Das Zukunftsmuseum” (The Future Museum) – an offshoot of the Deutsches Museum Munich – will open on 18 September. The inviting museum on the banks of the Pegnitz is in the Augustinerhof, a new building locality created by Staab Architekten. ATELIER BRÜCKNER designed the permanent exhibition. It covers an area of 2,900 square meters. Generously dimensioned window openings, which illustrate the two-storied nature of individual parts of the museum, allow light into the new buildings and enable views towards the outside. Five color-coded theme-based areas invite visitors to take a close look at what the future has in store: “Work and Daily Life”, “Body and Mind”, “City System”, “Earth System” and “Space and Time”. The exhibition emphasizes the juxtaposition of science and fiction and shows how they interact with each other. Do the exhibits stem from science, have they already been implemented in practice or are they soon to be ready for industrial
44
production? Or are they pure fiction and simply infeasible? They include inventions of science fiction in literature and films but also thought experiments and ideas from scientific theory. The modular exhibition elements fit into a basic pattern, which can be envisaged as a grid on the floor. This triggers associations with a virtual 3D space that provides scope for one’s own imagination and design ideas. The three-dimensional layout that is presented has an industrial and clearly structured look. Fair-faced concrete surfaces, suspended light rails, and technical connecting elements have an industrial character. All the exhibition elements follow the basic grid pattern, the matrix of the museum. In addition to the exhibition areas on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd floors of the building, there are laboratories on the ground floor, a robot workshop and a tinkering area, called future workshop, on the 1st floor as well as
www.HighRiseLife.com
a section enabling VR time travel (project in cooperation with Cologne University) on the 3rd floor. The starting and end point of the tour through the museum is a spacious, two-story forum which has steps for sitting on and is surrounded by LED strips with news tickers. Suspended centrally in the space, there is a remarkable kinetic media
cube with an edge length of 3.75 meters that awakes curiosity and stimulates people’s interest in visiting the exhibition. The cube is fitted out with nine LED screens, each of which can independently be moved and rotated by 180 degrees. At a certain point, they all face forwards together, outward beyond the frame, and form a single screen surface that is suitable for presentations. As a summary of the visit to the exhibition, the screens show the themes, objects and the color scheme of the exhibition areas. Evaluation of the museum game is envisaged for the presentation mode: while walking through the exhibition, the visitors collect selected exhibits with their wristband. At media stations, they can then process their selection and submit an estimate of the opportunities and risks of the new technologies. Every day, their answers to such questions as those listed below are discussed live in the forum:
What is people’s attitude towards genetic scissors? Is it permissible for us to alter the genome of embryos? Should we use robots for social care tasks? How can we achieve the mobility turnaround? Will meat come from the laboratory in future? Should humankind explore space? These are questions that the museum asks in different places. Media steles with “future designers” supply contrary arguments. Students who have been specially schooled in ethical questions are F-Coms (future communicators) and act as direct contact persons for visitors. The exhibition invites people to explore the world between science and fiction in a lighthearted manner and makes an offer to all the senses: How heavy is “light concrete”? How will our food smell in future? Are we able to discern whether our digital interlocutor is a form of AI (artificial intelligence)? Large, impressive exhibits include the prototype of a flying taxi from 2018 that visitors can experience additionally with the help of a haptic 3D model, a research capsule with powder burns that was in space in 1985 and a quantum computer from the year 2020 that has the appearance of an artwork installation. The fact that science and fiction exert an influence on each other is illustrated by the classical comparison of two exhibits: the communicator from Star Trek (1993/94) and the first folding mobile phone from Motorola, called StarTAC, from the year 1996. Science fiction fans and visitors who are interested in technical solutions to questions about the future will not be disappointed with their visit to this museum. More than 150 informative exhibits, 90 media stations and numerous large-format film projections take them into a world of experience between science and fiction. Thanks to its modular layout, the exhibition can grow and will change in accordance with the future. The Deutsches Museum Nuremberg – Das Zukunftsmuseum (The Future Museum) is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. from Tuesday to Sunday every week. On 18 September the opening will last until 9 p.m., whereby entrance is free. For more information, please visit deutsches-museum.de/nuernberg.

Top Markets Where Investors Are Impacting the Inventory Crunch Despite the common perception that investors are always in competition with everyday buyers, new findings from the Realtor.com® Investor Report shows that isn’t always the case. According to the data, investors are exacerbating the inventory shortage in 31 of the top 50 U.S. markets, but in roughly 19 markets – including Atlanta, Dallas, Baltimore, Los Angeles and San Francisco – they are helping to replenish the number of homes for sale. Realtor.com analyzed U.S. deed records from January 2000-April 2021 to determine the number of investor sales versus purchases in the 50 largest U.S. markets. In this report, areas where investors are contributing inventory refers to places where investors are selling more homes than they are buying. Places where investors are taking away inventory are locales where investors are buying more homes than they sell. “Today’s buyers are facing a tough market and data shows they aren’t just competing with each other. With deep pockets and more flexibility, investors can be daunting competition for the typical homebuyer.
48
Right now, data shows investors are buying more homes than they are selling, and while they get a lot of attention in today’s market, it’s worth remembering that they can also contribute to inventory levels,” said Realtor.com Chief Economist Danielle Hale. “Whether a market is appealing to investors depends on a variety of factors, including how local home prices compare to rents. When home prices are rising and rents are more stagnant, investors are more likely to sell off properties and contribute inventory. On the other hand, the higher rents are compared to home prices the more attractive the market is to investors looking to buy homes and convert them into rental properties.” Investors help buyers in big metros with limited homes for sale In April, investors added to the number of homes on the market in 19 of the 50 largest U.S. metros, with Atlanta (+399 homes), Dallas (+239 homes), Baltimore (+188 homes), Los Angeles (+112 homes) and San Francisco (+93 homes) seeing the biggest contributions. Compared to the markets where investors took away inventory in April, these metros tend to be bigger, with fewer homes for sale and higher listing prices.
www.HighRiseLife.com
Compared to nationwide inventory declines in April (-53%), the top 10 markets where investors are contributing saw a smaller drop, at an average -44% during the same timeframe. However, some of these metros saw even bigger inventory gaps from last year, including the two markets where investors contributed the most inventory in April: Atlanta (-63.4%) and Dallas (-69.7%). At an average population size of 5.5 million, these markets also encompass some of the nation’s biggest tech hubs, such as San Francisco and San Jose. Home to some of the most expensive real estate in the U.S., these metros had an average median listing price of $668,000 in April, well above the national median price of $375,000. Hale added, “High home prices, slower rent growth, and uncertainty over the future of work in these markets are likely causing investors to reevaluate their property portfolios in these areas. And with homes still selling quickly, even in these metros, an investor deciding to sell can look forward to being able to reposition their dollars elsewhere in a very short period.”
Investors are snatching up homes in smaller markets with higher inventory levels Investors took away inventory in 31 of the largest U.S. markets, led by Phoenix (-429 homes), Charlotte, N.C. (-287 homes), Miami (-256 homes),Tampa (-224 homes) and Chicago (-221 homes). Compared to the markets where investors helped buyers, these metros are smaller and less crowded, with more available home listings relative to all households, lower home prices, and relatively higher rental price growth.
September 2021
While average home prices are more affordable in these top markets, rental prices grew at a faster year-over-year pace on average (+4.6%) than in top markets with more investor sales (+0.1%) in April. In Tampa, where the $327,000 median listing price was below the national average of $375,000 in April, rents grew 4.5 times faster than the national rate, up 12.4% year-over-year. The markets where investors are competing with homebuyers and taking away inventory tend to offer the perfect storm of factors for converting homes into rental properties. These markets have relatively more homes available, at 3.7 properties for every 1,000 residences versus 2.8 in markets where investors are adding to inventory. While these metros have experienced more rapid yearover-year inventory declines in April (-57%), rapid rent price gains keep calculations favorable for buying which means that until rent trends change, investors are likely to be homebuyer foes, not friends. “Getting ahead in today’s market is tough, especially when you are contending with professional investors,” said Lexie Holbert, home and living expert at Realtor.com®. “Setting up price alerts on Realtor. com® is a really helpful trick for getting ahead of the competition. When a home that meets your parameters hits the market, you’ll get a notification so you can get in and try to make an offer.” For more information, visit Realtor.com.

Simple, Natural Ways to Boost Immunity
Your body’s immune system protects against illness and infection, fighting off threats before you even know there’s a problem. Even though your immune system usually does its job automatically, you can give it a boost with habits that promote wellness and support immunity. Eat healthy fruits and vegetables. Although you may not be aware they contain flavonoids, these phytochemicals found in some fruits and veggies are a vital part of maintaining health. Flavonoids are found in colorful fruits and vegetables like cranberries and elderberries. When it comes to power foods, elderberries’ exceptional flavanol levels make them an immune system powerhouse. Especially important during cold and flu season, elderberries can also be enjoyed in a cup of warm tea for instant comfort. Reduce stress with outdoor activity. Keeping physically fit provides numerous health benefits such as reducing stress by being one with nature through taking a walk outside. The sun’s UV rays help your body produce vitamin D, which is important for your bones, blood cells and immune system, as well as helping absorb and use certain nutrients. Yoga and massage can also be used to help stimulate the immune system and promote well-being. Keep a regular sleep schedule. Sleep gives you an opportunity to recharge. This is when cellular regeneration and other healing is most efficient. Keeping a regular routine helps signal to your system that it’s time to rest so you can fall asleep easier and reap the whole-body benefits of a healthy sleep cycle. Wash hands frequently. Especially during the school year, when germs are rampant and easily carried from school to home, you can give your immune system a hand, literally, by frequently scrubbing away germs before they have the chance to attack. Rely on natural remedies. Modern, stressful lifestyles and exposure to environmental pollutants can put immune systems under pressure. However, some of your existing soothing rituals can actually support better health, too. One example is relaxing with a hot cup of tea. The natural and organic ingredients found in Buddha Teas provide numerous health benefits. Options like Mushroom Wellness, Divine Immunity, Elderberry Tea and Reishi Mushroom blends all contain immunity-boosting ingredients. September 2021
While they’re not an obvious ingredient, mushrooms have been incorporated into healing practices for thousands of years for their immune-boosting, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant-rich properties. There are several powerful medicinal mushrooms but one stand-out is the reishi mushroom, known as the “mushroom of immortality” and “divine plant of longevity.” This anti-inflammatory powerhouse is known to promote healthy cell growth and healthy blood pressure, along with improving immune function.
A Golden Way to Get Better Sleep While golden milk has become a trendy beverage of choice, this comforting, herb-filled blend is actually ancient. For thousands of years, golden milk has been an Ayurvedic ritual, with Indian families enjoying a warm nightly cupful before bed. In Ayurvedic medicine, turmeric, the main component in golden milk, is thought to impart the energy of the sun to the body, hence its radiant, golden color. Turmeric’s documented healing properties impart substance to this traditional “elixir,” and have given golden milk a reputation as a healing cup of comfort. In addition to improving physical and mental wellbeing, regularly drinking golden milk has the potential to lessen your chance of becoming ill in the first place. It’s also an anti-inflammatory that supports healthy digestion and promotes calm. This turmeric-dominant blend includes ginger root and black pepper to aid digestion; ashwagandha to tonify, energize and calm; and cardamom, nutmeg and vanilla bean, all meant to encourage rejuvenation and peace. Consider an option like Buddha Teas’ CBD Organic Golden Milk, which includes a THC-free CBD isolate for added wellness benefits. Prepared by mixing with a warm cup of your favorite milk, the smooth, slightly sweet, pungent brew offers a soothing treat just before bed. Many people also enjoy golden milk prepared cold. Winging 2021 Written by Jennifer Gonzales
Things are slowly starting to “get back to normal” and let’s all admit we are excited to be welcoming in a new year.. Even though, masks being required is still in effect as well as social distancing, this doesn’t mean that we can’t try new things to enhance our look. This year alone, we’ve had some creativity in production between styling our eyebrows and trying out new lashes. Our eyes are our main point of contact, when it comes to interacting with others, and the first thing that will stand out. Listed below are the top 5 eyeliner trends that have been taking over 2021.
Classic Cat Eyeliner The classic cat eyeliner look, has been around for years, and is easy to do. It consists of using the liner on both top and bottom lid.
Graphic Eyeliner The graphic eyeliner is the fun fearless dramatic look of a combination between a winged eye liner style with a line above the inner lash line extending all the way out and the bottom liner following the bottom lash curving out, ending where the winged eye liner ends.
Fishtail Eyeliner The Fishtail Eyeliner is for those who dare to be different. It’s a cat line on top of eye lid along with the bottom mirroring, followed by a split which looks like a sideways “v” (<) reflecting the image of a fishtail.
Double winged Eyeliner The double winged eyeliner, is the perfect duo. Exactly what the name represents.. It is a winged eye-line for both top and bottom lids. You can have fun by switching up the colors to accommodate your outfit of the day.
Spotted Eyeliner The spotted eyeliner is a fun and creative look, where a short or long wing eyeliner is established, there are three dots following under. You can utilize this look for a fun girls night out.
