High Point University offers many exciting opportunities for students to study in the U.S. and abroad. “Within a period of 12 days, the students transformed into poised, confident, continental women effortlessly navigating the metros and reveling in every amazing new discovery that awaited them. They achieved everything we’d hoped for…and more.” – Dr. Cathy Nowicki co-led a 2013 Global Experience program. She’ll lead another program in May.

Through the short-term Global Experience programs, students spend two to four weeks traveling while completing classes that satisfy general education, major, or elective requirements. HPU faculty members accompany each group and teach the courses. These opportunities are available to students as early as their freshman year. Course offerings and destinations vary each year to meet a wide array of student interests.

“This experience could not be summed up in just one photograph: from the friendships forged, a simple understanding of beauty in the midst of chaos, and the realization that Africa and all we experienced have forever shaped us.” –  Kate Scanlon participated in in “Safari in South Africa” in May 2013
