WELCOME HOME, International Students!

To expedite the move-in process, local traffic routes will be adjusted. Please enter the following address into Google Maps or Apple Maps to ensure you arrive to campus at the proper location: 1036 Panther Dr. High Point, NC (Lexington and Panther). We have also listed driving directions below for your convenience. If you have questions, contact the Campus Concierge at (336) 841-4636.

I-85 N

 From I-85 N, take exit 113 B-C towards Asheboro and Winston-Salem

 Go 0.5 miles then take exit 113 C (74 W and 311 N towards Winston-Salem)

 Go 7.3 miles on 311 N/74 W then take exit 67 towards Eastchester Dr. (NC-68 and I-40) (the second sign for exit 67 says PTI Airport and High Point University)

 At the top of the exit, turn LEFT onto Eastchester Dr./68 South

 Go 1.3 miles then turn LEFT on University Parkway

 Go 0.7 miles then turn RIGHT on Lexington Ave.

 Go 0.1 miles then turn LEFT on Panther Dr. Welcome Home!

I-40 W/I-85 BUS S

 From I-40 W/I-85 BUS S, take exit 210 (NC-68) towards High Point and PTI Airport

 Go RIGHT at the exit, then make a LEFT onto Lynwood Smith Expy/NC-68 S

 Go 6.7 miles on Lynwood Smith Expy/NC-68 S becomes Eastchester Drive/NC-68 S

 Turn LEFT on University Parkway

 Go 0.7 miles then turn RIGHT on Lexington Ave.

 Go 0.1 miles then turn LEFT on Panther Dr. Welcome Home!

Due to parking limitations at the Qubein Children’s Museum and Stock & Grain, please utilize the campus shuttle provided. Shuttles will pick up from the Caine Conservatory (Norton Hall side) every 30 minutes from 11:00 am - 5:00 pm. The last shuttle will depart campus at 4:30 pm.

During this time, all first-year students will connect with their Peer Mentor group for the first time. These sessions will be held at various locations across campus and will be facilitated by Peer Mentors as well as Student Instructors for those in Learning Communities.

OPENING CONVOCATION

NIDO AND MARIANA QUBEIN ARENA AND CONFERENCE CENTER

Doors to the Qubein Center will open at 7:00 AM. Students should arrive no later than 8:30 AM to be seated. Please enter through the doors marked with the “Student Entrance” banner. This event is mandatory for all students. Families are encouraged to attend.

Complimentary coffee, water, and muffins will be available.

Each student will receive guest tickets for access to the Nido and Mariana Qubein Arena and Conference Center. More information on ticket quantities and pickup information will be shared in early August.

Opening Convocation is a long-standing tradition at High Point University that brings together faculty and administration to welcome new students and to set the stage for their education at High Point University. The ceremony begins with the procession of faculty in their academic regalia. The keynote address will be given by the University President, Dr. Nido Qubein. With the Opening Convocation ceremony, the incoming class begins an exciting educational venture a learning process that occurs in and beyond the classroom culminating in the completion of degree requirements and the traditional Commencement ceremony. Students will also recite and sign the High Point University Honor Code for the first time.

The following attire guidelines are provided for your convenience. Dresses, dress pants, collared shirts, slacks, khakis and dress shoes are appropriate. Jeans, flip-flops and tennis shoes are discouraged.
