Geography Fieldwork off to a flying start for 2021

It has been a busy half term for our geography pupils who have been out and about investigating geographical issues such as:

 'Is Matlock's public transport appropriate for a zero-carbon society?' (Y7)  'To what extent do the characteristics of Burbage Brook change along its profile?' (Y10)  'How do the characteristics of Ringinglow differ from the Lower Don

Valley?' (Y12)

The pupils are fast-becoming experts at a range of practical fieldwork techniques including carrying out questionnaires (Y7); measuring crosssections of a river (Y10) and using photos and bi-polar surveys to make judgements of places (Y12).

Now it's back to the classroom to write up the results of their investigations, savouring the magical memories of sunny fieldwork!
