Science Fiction The Blue Fire

Blue Gel

by Leah Stone & Emmy Courts

by Harley Ward

I was on my way back from school, when I realized I forgot to do my homework for science. So, I screamed at the bus driver, “Wait, I forgot something!”

Hi, I’m Mia and this is the story of how one tub of gel ruined my whole day. One morning, my hair was so frizzy that it looked like I had gone outside and been struck by lightning. Today was not the day for this to happen. It was my mom’s wedding and I was the flower girl! At first, I thought it was weird that a 15-year-old was a flower girl, but I just went along with it because I did not want to ruin my mom’s big day. Anyways, back to the story. I decided to go to the drug store across the street. When I walked in it had outdated wall paper with pictures of George Washington everywhere. I felt like they were watching me, so I went straight to the hair aisle. When I got to the gel section, there was one that just really stood out. It was blue and kind of looked like fire, so I bought it. When I got to the hotel, I put it on and went to go put on my dress. When I got back and looked in the mirror, my hair was rising up. Then I looked at the gel to see what was in it. It had gas in it! I guess the shampoo in my hair had made a chemical reaction. Then I dropped it on my dress. “Mia time to go to the church” said my mom…..

“Well have fun cause I’m not waiting. BYE!” said the bus driver. As I ran in the rain, I saw something catch my eye. It was blue fire - but it moved! I felt like it was trying to tell me something. As I tried to figure it out, it slowly moved closer - until it touched me. Surprisingly, it didn’t burn. The second it touched me, I knew I had to run a test on the fire that didn’t burn. I ran to the school with it flaming in my hand. I got to the classroom, and it jumped out of my hands! It was mad at me for a reason I could not explain. Suddenly the entire classroom had caught fire. It was the biggest chemical reaction I have ever seen. I knew I had made a mistake…

The Return of Dr. Nincompoop

by Graham Goddard & Gavin Campos ‘’Yes! I finally did it!’’ I found the power to make a clone out of fire!’’ I will use these clones to build an unstoppable empire.’’ Dr. Nincompoop just created fire clones. He used his reactants to make fire. His reactants were baking soda, hair jelly beans, Tonguetroleum, and Glassion Dioxide. A few months later… ’I have taken over the galaxy!’’ Aliens from the planet Blah Blah Blah have tried to defeat Dr. Nincompoop and his clones. The aliens threw a ball of fire made out of bones and watch materials. The light was produced by plastic that the two materials formed which formed fire when heated. They threw the fireballs. They destroyed his clones because the clones were not made very well and they couldn’t resist the product of the alien’s materials. It caused a temperature change inside their bodies. A toxic gas was produced which made their insides explode. Dr. Nincompoop survived but is hiding inside his garbage can, which is inside his destroyed weapons factory. The galaxy is free until Dr. Nincompoop is back, which is unlikely to happen. The end.
