CE MARKING Helly Hansen Workwear’s (PPE) products are manufactured and tested in accordance with the standards which support European Directive (89/686/eec) and are herefore approved in accordance with CE marking regulations.

Helly Hansen workwear is intended to prevent accidents and injuries during work on exposure to cold, heat, fire, rain and in limited visibility. The CE marking refers to a safety level on the product. European Directive (89/686/ eec) is the applicable law for the European member states on the issue of personal protective equipment (PPE). European Directive (89/686/eeg) states as a basic requirement for design and manufacturing that PPE is used to make working conditions safer. 144

PRODUCT CHARACTERISTICS. The CE marking means that the product fulfills the requirements for the relevant product category. This implies no guarantee that the product will prevent accidents or serious injuries if the user is exposed to such risks in a work environment. PPE DIRECTIVE 89/656 FOR END USERS End users must refer to directive 89/656/EEG for the assessment of health and safety at work. Employers must carry out a risk assessment and decide upon the right protective equipment for their individual work environments. Employers are responsible for suitable personal protective equipment being available to personnel. The specified test results are given as a symbol on the product. Either it is indicated that the measurement took place according to the prescribed methods or that the result is 1, 2 or 3 where 3 is the highest protection level.
