The elections for new Board Members also culminated on April 7th and I congratulate Emily Acklin, Tony Crivello and Mary Bailey, the community has put in place a great team to represent them. I also thank Roger Hockenberry and Dave Whitehead for volunteering and showing interest in the Tara community.
The Board of Directors held an organizational meeting on April 11th and the Board officers for the 2025/2026 community will be:

MESSAGE FROM
DAVID TAYLOR, GENERAL MANAGER
dtaylor@taragcc.com
Dear Members,
As another incredible season winds to a close, I want to take a moment—on behalf of our entire Team—to offer a heartfelt thank you to each and every one of you. The energy, the camaraderie, and the sense of community we’ve seen over the past several months has made this season one to remember.
A very special thank you goes out to all of those who have volunteered to serve on our committees. Your time, your insights, and your commitment are not only appreciated—they are essential. Quite simply, Tara would not be the club and the community it is without your passion and involvement. You help make this place more than a club—you help make it home.
We also want to extend our deepest gratitude to everyone who supported and volunteered for the Korn Ferry Tour Monday Qualifier. From our golf Team to our Member volunteers, your efforts did not go unnoticed. We’ve received overwhelmingly positive feedback from the players and from the PGA itself. These events do more than showcase our championship-level course—they elevate the Tara name across the state and beyond. Our goal in hosting tournaments like this is to grow the recognition and prestige of your club, and we’re optimistic about the potential to host FSGA state championships in the years to come.
Looking ahead, this summer is shaping up to be a defining one for Tara. Our pickleball complex—long-awaited and much-anticipated—is on track to be completed by early September. It will be a vibrant new addition to our recreational offerings and a space that will bring even more neighbors together.
At the same time, we are making great strides on the Clubhouse Refresh. We’ve been working closely with our architect and design team to shape a project that respects our past while embracing our future. On April 30th, we held interviews with potential contractors, and we expect to finalize that selection soon. As we progress, we’ll be holding informational sessions throughout the summer so you can stay informed and engaged. Our hope is to begin construction in the late summer months—and to do so with a unified vision that reflects the pride and purpose of our Membership.
Lastly, let’s not forget one of our most beloved traditions: celebrating all the incredible mothers of our community. We hope you’ll join us on Sunday, May 11th for our Grand Mother’s Day Brunch —a joyful gathering to honor the heart and soul of so many families here at Tara.
In closing, thank you for your spirit, your support, and your belief in what this club can be. Together, we continue to build something special—not just for today, but for generations to come.
Respectfully,
David Taylor

MESSAGE FROM MISSY WILLIAMS, HEAD GOLF PRO 941.758.7961 x1226 | mwilliams@taragcc.com
During the seasons of spring, summer, and fall, golfers have the advantage of enjoying extended daylight hours for their rounds. As such, golfing is available much later in the day, providing ample opportunities for everyone to hit the links.
It’s important to note that every villa, condo, and home owner within this community has a vested interest in the upkeep and quality of the golf course. This shared responsibility ensures that the course remains in prime condition for all golfers.
The rules and regulations regarding course availability are explicitly outlined to maintain fairness. For instance, sneaking onto the course to play a few holes without permission is strictly prohibited. While this may seem trivial to some, it can disrupt the experience of other paying golfers. Additionally, there may be safety concerns if you’re on the course after chemicals have been applied or if you’re inadvertently cutting in line ahead of others.
To avoid any issues, it is essential to call the golf shop beforehand to inquire about course availability and to check if there are golfers already out on the course.
If you would like to make a tee time for playing after normal hours, please reach out to the golf shop before 5:00 PM to check for available slots. This proactive approach ensures that you receive proper approval to go out later in the day. Should you decide to golf after 5:00 PM, be sure to contact the golf shop at 941-758-7961 ext 1231. Leave a message indicating that Member #1234 will be walking 9 holes. The Team will retrieve your message in the morning and apply the appropriate charges to your account. Remember, there is a fee associated with all golfers utilizing the course.
We genuinely appreciate your enthusiasm for golfing; however, it’s essential to recognize that other community Members are watching. We trust that you will demonstrate respect for the rules by making a tee time whenever you wish to play. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation!
This year, we are excited to introduce summer Memberships, which will allow even more golfers to enjoy your course during the warmer months. With these Memberships, you’ll see a variety of late-afternoon golfers making the most of our beautiful facilities. In addition, we will be hosting several special events in collaboration with the LPGA Amateur Golf Association, featuring competitions and social gatherings on Thursday evenings. These events promise to enhance your golfing experience, offering opportunities to connect with fellow enthusiasts and enjoy the sport in a vibrant atmosphere.
We would like to inform you that our first aerification of the season will take place on May 12th. During this important maintenance, the course will be CLOSED TO ALL. Please do not enter the course to check on progress, walk your dog, or take a stroll, as various applications will be conducted on the course.
Cart Barn: Monday, May 12th, from 7:00 AM to 2:00 PM
Tuesday & Wed: CLOSED (Please come to retrieve your clubs if you store them with us.)
Pro Shop: May 12th – 14th 7:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Please make any reciprocal times you need between those hours.

Evapotranspiration
Evapotranspiration is the net loss of water caused by the combined effects of atmospheric conditions. The Evapotranspiration rate is a very important tool for precision irrigation practices because it is the calculation of air temperature, solar radiation, wind speed, humidity, barometric pressure and dew point for a 24 hour period. With the renovation of the irrigation system, a weather station was also installed to be able to calculate the Evapotranspiration rate that is specific to our golf course. This information is recorded every hour and then sent to the central irrigation computer where the values are then calculated to get the Evapotranspiration rate for that 24 hour period to irrigate only what the turf needs. The benefits of using evapotranspiration in conjunction with the irrigation system are: water conservation, improves quality and health of the turf, reduces compaction and weed population and provides a deeper root system.
The weather station is a very good tool to provide the Evapotranspiration rate to properly irrigate the golf course. However, daily monitoring of the golf course is still the best because of the constant change in conditions. The golf course will be closed May 12nd- 14th for the first aerification of the year. The golf course will also be closed every Monday at 11:00am from May 12th to October27th.

Dear Tara Residents,
For those residents heading to another state, we wish you a great summer season and look forward to your return in the fall.
The TMA manages most of its projects during snowbird season, as more of our volunteers are available in person. As the season winds down, so will our projects for the summer.
We will continue to keep you informed about the May 8th Board of County Commissioners’ meeting regarding the proposed apartment complex, along with any updates from FPL.
As another reminder, the TMA needs your email address! If homeowners have not yet logged into the Condominium Associates portal https://condo. cincwebaxis.com, please do so. It’s recommended that you add your email address to ensure that you receive the most updated information from the TMA.
Please join us at the May 22nd board meeting to keep up to date with TMA activities.

BOWLING LEAGUE - Tuesdays
The Tara Bocce League had their Final Bocce Playoff game, after 15 weeks of Regular play, on Thursday night Mar 27 which ended in a Bocce Bash in the Dining Room.
The playoffs were played Best out of 3 games. The Bocce Buddies Team (Joe Drewniak Captain), 5th place overall through the season, won the first game and the Village People Team (Jim Black Captain), 2nd place overall through the season, won the second game. They were so evenly matched.
The third game was a nail biter. It was like a See-saw, back and forth with points for each team. Then the score was 9-8 for the Bocce Buddies. First team to 10 points wins. This time the Bocce Buddies (Joe Drewniak’s team) got their ball close to the Pallini and The Village People could not roll one closer. So the Bocce Buddies were the Winners with the one point needed.
It could not have been a better Playoff game and there were So Many spectators. Thank you all. Then we went in for our buffet dinner and Trophy Presentation. We had 175 people registered for the dinner. It was definitely a full room. I have attached some pictures of the day. WOW!

The First Tara Pickleball Tournament took place on March 22nd, 2025!
What a fabulous time we had! Twenty players (plus a waiting list) signed up to compete, playing 6 games with different partners and against different players each time. The top 4 players Dave, Diane, Mark and Don competed in the Final – 3 more games, changing partners and opponents each time, keeping a tally of their accumulated points. The top scorer to be our winner.
Guess what! Our top scorer proved what a winner he is! Scored a TOTAL PERFECT SCORE!!
Winning 11 points for each of the first 6 games = 66 and then winning 11 points for each of the 3 games in the final for a total of 99 points. WOW!
CONGRATULATIONS DAVID LOGLISCI!!!!! Our 2025 PICKLEBALL CHAMPION!!
EVERYONE who took part played a fantastic level of Pickleball and it was enjoyed immensely by a very enthusiastic crowd. Many thanks to our resident photographer Ray Rodriguez and our thoroughly organized Marshal/Policeman Randy Gosney! Super Job! And of course, many thanks to Joan for our coffee and doughnuts and to all who contributed to the “goodies” table.

Did you know that Tara has a Care & Share Program?
This program can provide you with essential equipment you sometimes need for a limited time that you, unfortunately, don’t have. Rather than run out and buy it, you can borrow it from another Tara resident that just so happens to have that something you need in storage. This could be medical equipment like crutches, a wheelchair, a walker or shower chair you need because someone is recovering from an injury. Or maybe you need a child related necessary item like a stroller, high chair or a pack and play because your friends or family from up north are visiting you for a few days and bringing their little one.
Any Tara Member can participate in this program. If you have something you can lend that you think would be helpful to someone else, just notify the Administration Office at 941-756-7775 ext.1229 and tell them what equipment you have that you are willing to share. Tara Members, when they need that special something you are kind enough to lend, will then contact you directly to arrange for pick up and return.
The more residents get involved in the Care & Share Program, the more equipment we’ll have to lend and the more we can all benefit from this unique Tara program. Check it out on the website under Member Center to see what items are currently available to borrow: https://members.taragcc.com/group/pages/care-share-program
Did you know that Tara has a Hole-n-One Club? Don’t lose out on a pocket full of SWEEPS for golf shop purchases!
HERE’S HOW IT WORKS AND HOW TO JOIN:
Contact Jill at jorologio@taragcc.com or see her in the Administration Office to let her know you want to join in on the fun! That’s all it takes and you’re now a member of the club.
HERE HOW IT WORKS:
1. Each time a Member of the club gets a Hole-n-One he or she is declared a WINNER and ALL Hole-n-One Club Members will be charged 4.50 to their Member account.
2. Members of this exclusive club then have one week from the day of publicly posting the winner’s name in the Grill Room to redeem a beverage of choice.
3. The number of club Members who do not redeem their beverage from the Grill Room within the designated week get tallied up.
4. We then multiply the $4.50 by the number of those who did NOT indulge in a beverage from the Grill Room.
5. That cash balance is then awarded to the WINNER’S ACCOUNT in forms of SWEEPS for purchases in the golf shop.
Winnings have been anywhere between $400- $850+ in SWEEPS (not redeemable for cash).
Don’t Miss Out – Join Now!
Did you know that Tara is now serving cocktails at the snack bar in addition to cans of beer?
From 9 am to 4pm, you can now sip a tasty daiquiri in three delicious flavors: Strawberry, Pina Colada and Tara Tropical. Or, if that doesn’t tickle your fancy, you can also order well vodka, gin or rum mixed drinks with coke, sprite, ginger ale, tea, lemonade or four different juices. Upgrades to premium liquor are also available.
So, when you sit by the pool relaxing or socializing with friends, or you just had a workout with water aerobics or volleyball, order a refreshing daiquiri and sip away. Or the next time you turn towards the back nine, and you feel that you need a little something to help your swing, stop at the snack bar and order your favorite drink to take along. Here’s to you!
Dear Tara Members,
The House Committee had a remarkably busy year in 2024-2025. The Committee completed the remodel of 3 bathrooms in the main lobby of the clubhouse. Phase 1 of the front door renovation has been completed, with Phase 2, the installation of the automatic door, being completed by the end of May 2025.
Thanks to the generous support of the Tara Members, the House Refresh project was approved by 68.4% of the Membership. The initial phase of selecting an architect, selecting a designer, and getting up-to-date clubhouse linear drawings has been completed. The next steps of the project have begun, spearheaded by our GM, David Taylor. Several Town Hall meetings will be held throughout the refresh process. To keep our Members well informed, these Town Hall meetings will be available by Zoom for any Members who have travelled back home or unable to attend the meetings in person.
Additionally, the Committee has worked closely with Management to create better food options, creative menu specials, and to improve the service and member experience. This will also be a focus in 2025-2026 of the Committee.
Finally, we would like to thank Morgan, Chef Joe, the entire staff, and especially David Taylor for their partnership in making our Tara community the best for our Members.
Sincerely,
John Bourjaily
