Annother Successful Habitat for Humanity Week! The Canadian Institute of Plumbing and Heating (CIPH) hosted Habitat for Humanity fundraising week from September 20th to 26th, 2009. CIPH member organizations from across Canada held various fundraising activities (BBQs, raffles, etc.) at their offices last week. Not only do these events help raise needed funds for Habitat, they also help us raise awareness around the issue of affordable housing in Canada; and ideally provide affiliates with an opportunity to connect locally with another corporate partner.

Burnaby Build Site Update - 8745 Government Street We made some excellent progress at the Burnaby Build site on Phase 5 in August. Our dedicated volunteers were able to complete the installation of the 1st floor walls, ceiling joists and floor panels for the second floor. Vapour barriers were finished in the basements which allowed us to have concrete poured in all 5 units. Looking ahead we can expect to install the 2nd floor wall panels which were pre-fabricated in the winter, secure the ceiling joists for

the 2nd floor and complete the framing in the basements. If all goes well, we will have roofs on our new homes before the colder weather hits the lower mainland.
