RESTORE STRIKES AGAIN! SHOP AND STOCK TO BUILD HOMES For immediate release th

March 16 marks the opening of Habitat for Humanity Greater Vancouver’s fourth ReStore at 7977 Enterprise Street in Burnaby (just off Lake City Way at Lougheed Highway). The charity’s social enterprise, ReStore sells donated new and used home décor and building supplies at discounted prices. All revenue covers affiliate operational costs and helps build homes for working families in our local communities—from Langley to Squamish. “Our newest ReStore space is over 26,000 square feet and also houses our regional distribution centre. We now have a central location to feed all four of our stores in Burnaby, Vancouver and North Vancouver,” says Tim Clark, CEO of Habitat for Humanity Greater Vancouver. “This is a game changer. The more ReStores we open, the more we sell and the more Habitat homes we can build. It’s that simple.” ReStore is perfect for everyone: students, families, the newly-located, DIYers and contractors. What can you get at a ReStore? Everything and the kitchen sink! From lighting to furniture and bathroom fixtures—to lumber and hardware—all you need for your next home and garden project. Help stock our ReStore shelves! We accept corporate and individual donations, and provide a tax receipt for items valued over $100. Drop in to our ReStore Enterprise location anytime during the month of March with a sellable donation item, and get 20% off your purchase. Moving, downsizing or looking to recycle your metal items? To donate, call one of our ReStores directly or speak to our procurement coordinator to arrange a dropoff or pick up at 604-878-5050. Let your community know. What we sell helps build homes right here in Greater Vancouver. Shop. Donate. Volunteer. Build. For more information on Habitat for Humanity Greater Vancouver and its ReStores, visit habitatgv.ca.

Habitat for Humanity Greater Vancouver Established in 1995, Habitat for Humanity Greater Vancouver moves working families out of uncertain rental situations into homes they can afford and call their own. Habitat is not an alternative to social housing but gives those seeking a brighter future a hand up towards their dreams of homeownership and a safer community. Eligible Partner Families must complete 500 hours of sweat equity (volunteer time) before moving into their home, and pay a no-interest and no down payment mortgage set at no more than 30% of their monthly income. Upon moving out, Partner Families are given back all the equity they have put into their homes as cash, which they may then invest in the traditional mortgage system. For more information, visit habitatgv.ca. ReStore The first ReStore opened in Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1991. Currently, there are close to 100 ReStores across Canada.
