INSPECTION/REPLACEMENT OF CRANKCASE VENTILATION FILTER
REPLACEMENT OF FUEL FILTER Filter position may change depending on the application.
The crankcase ventilation filter is designed to collect and filter the lubricating oil vapours. Within the filter unit (1) two cartridge filters are included (2).
However, the following operations are valid for all applications. Unscrew the filter cartridge using a filter wrench. Carefully remove the filter cartridge, allowing any fuel to collect in a clean container. Collect any remaining fuel inside the filtering cartridge.
Check the filtering elements by removing the cover and removing the cartridges (2). 1
Clean the gasket seat on the filter head and apply a light coating of clean oil to the seal at the top of the new filter cartridge. DO NOT PRE-FILL the new filter.
2
Install the new filter by turning it manually until the gasket is in contact with the filter head. Further tighten until hand tight, or to a torque of 20 ± 2 Nm using a filter wrench.
WARNING During this operation do not smoke or use open flames. Avoid inhaling the vapours coming from the filter. 34
