Tigercat 820D/L820D Feller Buncher 2. Disconnect the negative starter motor cable from both battery posts.

3. Disconnect the positive master solenoid cable from both battery posts.
Engine exhaust, some of its constituents, and certain vehicle components contain or emit chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm.
NOTE: Connect the ground terminal last when reconnecting. • Do not short out the battery terminals for any reason. Serious burns or an explosion can result.

AVOID INJURY FROM BACKOVER ACCIDENTS
Battery posts, terminals and related accessories contain lead and lead compounds, chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm. Wash hands after handling.
• Before moving the machine, be sure all persons are clear of the area. • Always be alert for bystanders moving into the work area. Use the horn to warn bystanders before moving the machine. • When using a signal person, keep the person in view at all times. Always be sure the signal person is clear before backing up.
CAUTION
• To avoid backover accidents:
Lead-acid batteries contain sulfuric acid which can severely damage eyes or skin on contact. Always wear a safety face shield, rubber gloves and protective clothing to reduce risk of accidents.
• Always look around before you back up. Be sure that everyone is clear. • Keep the machine motion alarm in working condition. The motion alarm must sound when the machine is moving forward or in reverse.
Lead-acid batteries produce flammable and explosive gases. Keep arcs, sparks, open flames and lighted tobacco a safe distance from the batteries.
• Use a signal person when backing up if the view is obstructed. Always keep the signal person in view. • Learn the meaning of all flags, signs and markings on the job site and who is responsible for signalling.
• If acid is accidentally splashed into your eyes, flush immediately with clean water and get medical attention.
• Keep all windows, mirrors and lights in good condition.
• Do not attempt to charge a frozen battery. It can explode.
• Dust, heavy rain, fog, snow, etc., can reduce visibility. As visibility decreases, reduce speed and use proper lighting.
• Before working on electrical systems, disconnect the battery as follows: 1. Turn OFF the battery disconnect switch in the cab. 1.8
