MAINTENANCE AND LUBRICA TION
Caution
T o avoid damage sensitive electr onic equipment, disconnect ALL battery cables and harnesses electr onic contr units befor e welding. NOT disconnect batteries while engine Jump-Starting Engine you encounter a situation which necessary jump - start engine, use the following procedures.
W Arning
Batteries which e linked together must the same voltage (12 12, 24). T ake car e observe oper polarity when connecting batteries. Batteries oduce explosive gases. Keep sparks, flames, cigar ettes, etc., away batteries all times. otect your eyes wearing safety goggles. sur e vehicles e NOT touching each other .
Caution
T o avoid damaging any electr onic contr ollers when jump - starting a V - MAC always turn the ignition switch OFF befor e connecting the
Connect the positive (+) cable positive (+) post discharged battery the positive post the remote jump - start connector (if equipped).
Connect the other end the same cable the positive (+) post the booster battery
Connect the second cable, negative ( side, the other post the booster battery .
Make the final connection the negative ( battery terminal the remote jump - start connector (if equipped) the stalled vehicle, and stand back.
Start the vehicle with the booster batteries and then start the stalled Shut down the vehicle with the booster batteries and remove the cables the reverse order
W Arning
NOT connect the final negative ( connection the frame the stalled vehicle. This would cause all curr ent flow thr ough the master ound cir cuit eaker r esulting overload.
Electrical
Circuit Breaker and Relay Panels
The electrical equipment cover for this vehicle located between the drive and passenger seats the engine tunnel.
The cover panels are fastened with Most relays and fuses are accessible from under the top cover Since the function some fuses relays may change for the vehicle refer the list functions that attached beneath each
Note: For circuit breaker refer the Circuit Protection
Fuses are standard equipment for all circuits except the headlamps and windshield Circuit breakers are available optional
Caution
For oper installation electrical all wiring should meet SAE r equir ements and r outed thr ough the cir cuit otection panel with oper amperage fuses T ype cir cuit (Headlights and wipers will T ype cycling - type cir cuit
Some vehicles may equipped with daytime running For the daytime running lights a DRL module must installed the relay socket marked either DRL MOD Running Lamps the electrical equipment NOT install a standard relay into the daytime running light relay socket (marked either DRL MOD Running Lamps) a short circuit the headlight high beam circuit will
The headlight circuits are protected SAE T ype I (automatic reset - cycling) circuit breakers that automatically interrupt then restore the flow current through the circuit the event overload. This cycling will continue until the cause the overload
SAE T ype (automatic reset, non - cycling) circuit breakers (if equipped) provide a complete circuit disconnect until the overload corrected. The power the fected circuit breaker must shut f before the circuit breaker will reset itself.
The circuit protection panel also provides access battery , ignition and ground terminals for non - factory installed electronic (On V - MAC there are two serial link terminals for easy local connection a trip recording
Electrical Grease
T o prevent corrosion the lamp socket terminals, particularly with the clearance and marker lamp, apply a coating electrical sealing grease, such Lubriplate - TEK519, the socket and terminal assemblies.
not use electrical ease any V - MAC connectors.
