MAINTENANCE AND LUBRICA TION COOLING SYSTEM
The cooling system a pressurized system. The coolant circulated a centrifugal pump. a typical system most respects, but there are a few things keep mind when checking working the cooling system.

Keep clear fan when engine running. Fan may start r otate high speed without warning.

A void injury when checking coolant a hot engine. W ait for the engine cool prior checking the level whenever possible.
Coolant Level Check W ARNING
T urn the cooling system essur e cap counter clockwise the first stop but NOT depr ess. After the essur e has completely dissipated, ess the cap downward and continue turning r emove.
Y our MACK model chassis has a pressurized surge tank mounted the rack. Coolant should visible the sight glass (see arrow illustration) located the side the tank.
Draining the Cooling System
Whenever repairs are made which would require disconnection coolant the cooling system should Carefully remove the filler cap and remove all pipe
Refilling the Cooling System
Close all drain cocks and fill with the proper coolant mixture. Run engine with the pressure cap removed until operating temperature reached and the thermostat opens. Recheck level and add coolant required. Run the engine long enough sure the system free air and has the correct amount coolant.
