Note: The truck - tractor conspicuity standard intended make the tractor visible the trailer when the truck tractor being operated a bobtail condition.

Contact W ARNING

When entering exiting a cab, the driver and/or passenger must have least three limbs contact with the vehicle ground all times. This means that a minimum two hands and one foot, one hand and two feet must FIRM contact with the vehicle ground.

W Arning

When entering exiting the cab, aware the condition the steps and handrails. Clean any fuel, oil grease f the steps before entering the cab. During cold weather operation, ice and snow may accumulate and should cleaned f prevent slipping.

During cold, wet conditions when ice, slush, snow may accumulate the cab doorstep and other external surfaces, extra caution must observed when entering exiting the cab.

W Arning

• Face the cab when entering AND exiting.

• Place papers, coats, etc., cab BEFORE entering. T ake out AFTER exiting. Keep hands free grip handholds.

• Keep hands and shoes clean. Check hands and shoes for grease, mud, etc., BEFORE entering exiting.

• Keep 3 limbs hands and 1 foot 1 hand and 2 feet) FIRM contact with steps and handholds ALL times.

Driver Side

The following cab entry and exit procedures, along with the safety guidelines outlined Three - Limb Contact earlier this section, should used with this MACK vehicle.

Entry

These entry procedures are illustrated the following page:

1 W ith both feet firmly the grab the outside handhold with both hands grab the outside handhold with one hand and grab the steering wheel with the other Then raise one foot the bottom (See figure

2 Maintain a firm grip the handhold and/or steering wheel and raise your other foot the top step. (See figure 2.)

3 While still gripping the handhold and/or steering raise one foot the cab floor (See figure

4 Move one hand a time the steering wheel cab interior . Bring the other foot inside the cab and sit down. (See figure 4.)

Exit T o

exit, follow the illustrations reverse order:

1 W ith both hands gripping the steering wheel cab interior , stand and face the inside the Move one foot the top (See figure

2 Move one hand the outside handhold and grip the steering wheel cab interior with the other hand. W ith one foot firmly the top step, lower the other foot the bottom step. (See figure 3.)

Entry

These entry procedures are illustrated the following page:

1 W ith both feet firmly the ground, grab the outside handhold with both hands. Then raise one foot the bottom step. (See figure 1.)

2 Maintain a firm grip the outside handhold with your left hand and grab the inside handhold with your right Then raise your other foot the top (See figure

3 While still gripping the handholds, raise one foot the cab floor . (See figure 3.)

4 Move your left hand the cab interior Bring the other foot inside the cab and sit (See figure

Exit

T o exit, follow the illustrations reverse order:

1 W ith your right hand gripping the inside handhold and your left hand gripping the cab interior , stand and face the inside the Move one foot the top (See figure

2 While maintaining a firm grip the inside handhold with your right hand, move your left hand the outside handhold. Then, lower the other foot the bottom step. (See figure 3.)

3 W ith a firm grip both handholds and your foot planted securely the bottom lower the other foot the (See figure

4 Move your right hand the outside handhold and lower the other foot the ground. (See figure 1.)

Deck Plate Access

There may a time when you will need climb behind the cab. your vehicle equipped with a deck access package, steps and a handhold are provided you can get this area safely . Review the rules the Three - Limb Contact section before climbing behind the cab.

Climbing

These procedures are illustrated the following page:

1 Grab the handhold with both Then move one foot the bottom (See figure

2 While still gripping the handhold, and with one foot planted firmly the bottom step, move your other foot the top step. (See figure 2.)

3 Then with one foot planted firmly the top move the other foot the deck (See figure

4 Finally , move your other foot from the top step onto the deck plate. (See figure 4.)

Climbing Down

T o climb down from behind the cab, follow the illustrations reverse order:

1 Grab the handhold with both hands and move one foot the top (See figure

2 While firmly gripping the handhold, and with one foot the top step, move your other foot the bottom step. (See figure 3.)

3 Then with one foot planted firmly the bottom place the other foot the (See figure
