Working with the machine
Note!
The driver’s cab cannot be raised as long as the valve is in position 2
Emergency lowering from outside:
From the outside of the cab it is also possible to engage the emergency lowering procedure using a shutoff valve located on the rear of the cab lifting device.
Danger!
Danger of crushing.
Ensure that nobody is standing in the vicinity of the lifting frame when lowering the cab from the outside in an emergency. Ensure that you do not place any part of the body in the area of the moving parts when lowering the cab in an emergency.
Turn the shutoff valve into position 2 the driver’s cab lowers as long as the shutoff valve is maintained in position 2 Return the shutoff valve into position 1 immediately after an emergency lowering.
Note!
The driver’s cab cannot be raised as long as the valve is in position 2
Repair and maintenance
Danger!
Repair and maintenance work on the cab, lifting frame or on the related hydraulics system should be carried out – as far as possible – with the cab lowered.
For repair and maintenance work which can only be carried out when the cab is raised, the cab should be supported by equipment which is suitable for this purpose.
3.4.15Cab adjustable on hoist frame with double parallelogram
Purpose of the cab adjustable with double parallelogram
With this elevation (hoist frame with double parallelogram), the operator's cab can be adjusted forwards and upwards through two positional elements, from its normal resting position against the front edge of the uppercarriage, and also from ground level. Both positional elements can be controlled independently of each other via the joystick U45 in the operator's cab.
These elements are in the following pages designated by:
•Cab side element I, •Uppercarriage side element II.
Fig. 3-85 Cab adjustable on hoist frame with double parallelogram
The 2 stage cab elevation on hoist frame with double parallelogram offers the following advantages:
•An optimal sight on the working area, especially when loading ships or goodswagons, when working over obstacles, ... .
•A safe entry and exit when the cab is at the ground level
Note !
On a High Rise machine equipped with a cab adjustable on hoist frame with double parallelogram and which is simultaneously fitted with an additional elevation for the uppercarriage (tower 800 mm) it is necessary to use the extremity of a side frame to facilitate the access to the gangway mounted to the right side of the cab.
When lowering the cab to the ground to leave it, slightly swing the uppercarriage to the left and also retract the uppercarriage side element of the elevation so to bring the cab close enough to the front end of the side frame, to allow an easy cab access.
Safe working with a cab adjustable on double parallelogram
–Adhere to all safety guidelines listed under heading "Safely getting up" before in this manual.
–Preferably climb in and out of the cab when it is on the ground.
